CR 2025 battery is for digital movement. the analog movement is using a AG4 battery! There are 2 batteries in the watch! you gotta dig in for the analog movement battery! It ain't hard once you do it carefully!
My watch is a 1545 and the movement is not working so it must be the battery you are stating is a AG4 that i have to replace my digital is working great
I'm here because I went to TWO different jewelers and neither one of them could figure out how to get the watch straps off this watch to change the batteries! So I decided to do it myself. It is possible to change batteries without taking the straps off, but it is tricky because you have to push them far out of the way which could damage the straps. But now my watch is working great and the straps seem fine.
Oh by the way, after replacing the first battery, turns out there is also a SECOND smaller battery LR626 inside the inner layer as well. That second battery controls the analog part of the watch. The first bigger battery only controls the digital part. I had to replace both.. Just FYI
For the hour hand and min hand there is a second battery underneath. You never mentioned that. That 2025 is strictly for the LCD display and light. Which my led light stopped working even though I changed the battery.
After changing 2 batteries, the display light does not lite up. Does the shorting of the AC (Reset?) and negative battery contact control this? How do you do it?
@@GunsandGearNetwork *rofl* I've found another video of a SMAEL take down and changed it with the help of this video. Now, the analog clock works again but not the light....
Great vid and really helpful as I've got several of these watches which have stopped and I couldn't figure out how to get the straps off. Just wondering where you got the strap compass from?
Nice video. I had the watch batteries replaced at a watch repair shop. Can you plz provide a link as to where you purchased the wristband? The wristband on watch is already tearing. Thanks. Keep those videos rolling.
It's my understanding that replacement batteries cost more than the watch itself .... and if you add any labor charge from some jewelry/watch store to replace them, it's cost-wise not worth it to replace them, just buy another new watch. [And that in itself is pathetic to have more trash.]
On my Smael--there are TWO batteries!! if you replace the big one on top --as shown in video--it will operate only the digital --NOT the analog part. YOU MUST go farther inside the watch and replace the small battery which operates the analog.
Guns and Gear Network there are actually two batteries in these watches... what you MIGHT have is a dead CR2025 battery that powers the DIGITAL display. The movement of the dial is actually powered by a smaller battery, and that is why the hand movement is still functioning. Unfortunately, I don't know what model of battery powers the dial, but I don't know if you tried replacing your CR2025 to bring the digital display back to life. Thanks for the video... Tube On!
Had one of these, great watch until you need to change the battery or batteries because this watch requires one to run the analog and one to run digital and once you take the plate off the back you will notice that they are not easily accessible especially the one at the bottom closest to the clock face I got so frustrated I just threw the watch out,it is impossible. I spent a couple of hours trying to replace a battery and I was done so in the trash can it went. I have purchased many watches on these ads that show up on my Facebook page, they are very nice, look very cool but if you order the watch and they tell you it's going to take several weeks to get it that is a hint that the watch is crap because it is coming from China and it is in one way or another an inferior product. I'm embarrassed because it took me a lot of money to realize I was just wasting my money. Never again will I waste my hard earned money on watches that don't last, a watch should last a few years not a few months.
When are you going to test those Chinese ballistic helmets? Got to check them when it's cold out see if they're brittle. Just put on some longjohns lol. Thanks
It is on my list of videos to get done. Because it requires being at the range it has been tough to schedule it. It is not very cold here at this point in the season but I have no concerns about it getting brittle in the cold. At least in my area because it never gets that cold for an extended time.
@@rasidahabdulrahman6956 You must remove the white plastic cover and the circuit board to get at the SR626 (377) battery underneath, which drives the analog watch hands. It is a 2nd watch movement! After you put in the 377 battery, reassemble the watch circuit board and the white cover. Now put the 2025 3V battery back in place. After you screw down the 2025 cover assembly, your final task is to short circuit the "ac" contact to the negative (-) of the battery. I usually use two tweezers to do this. with a tweezer in each hand, jab one down on the ac contact; touch the 2nd tweezer onto the top case of the 2025 battery which is the negative and cross the tweezers so that they touch each other. This shorts (resets) the digital circuit board, and the computer starts up again, and the digital watch will light up at 1:00 and start ticking! Hope this works. Reassemble putting the O-ring after silicone grease is applied back in place, and put the back on the watch. (The tiny spring sticking out of the white plastic is for the beep and / or alarm sound, so if you damage the spring, it will not beep). Hope this helps.

Had this watch 5 years and been wondering how to get into the darn thing ever since .Boy oh Boy now it goes again .Many thanks ,great video
The strap removal had me stumped!
Thanks for your tutorial. MUCH appreciated!😊👍
Thank you. Your video helped me remove a tempo watch strap

Thanks for the intel on these watches ,using one of them now for work ,2 months and no problems yet. Thanks brother
No problem Devil Dog glad you found it helpful.
Tried for an hour to figure out how to get the strap off this watch. Nice video.
Glad it helped!
Great video, thanks. I just received mine, so the tutorial was of value.
Well done and informative - worked like a charm. By the way you cannot substitute a CR 2032 as it is too thick to sit in the battery "saddle".
Thank you for posting this video, it was a great help for me in changing the battery, I really appreciate you taking the time to make it.
Hi, you didn't mention that SMAEL has 2 batteries, one for digital and one smaller for analog [under the 1st, you may remove carefully]
Thank you. No wonder the second hand was not moving.
Hey just wanted to thank you for making this video. I couldn't get the bands off to replace battery.
No problem, glad it was helpful. I have since learned there are two batteries that operate that watch.
@@GunsandGearNetwork , Ah that could be why when I changed the battery a couple days back I had no change in the hands but the digital was working.
Perfect demonstration ! Merci !
Thanks for sharing... Very informative, have a very good day...
Thank you! You too!
Thanks mate
This was awesome
Thank you for this how-to video. I got analog and digital working again, but somehow disabled the light. lmao. Will have to take it apart again.
Same thing happened to me
Thank you ! just what i needed.
Glad it helped!
That was pretty easy. I had no idea how to change the battery in the Smale watch.
thanks for providing such information.thanks alot
Keep in mind it has two batteries which I was unaware at time of filming.
Thank you for the video on changing the watch batteries in a Smael watch!! Watches only lasted a week before battery died on me...
I figured out their are two batteries in these watches.
Thanks big guy I really appreciate it...👍

Great video
They sell the watches so cheap on Amazon it's easier just to buy a new watch than to replace a strap or a battery.

Helpful video....
Glad to hear that
Thank you for the video but man, I wish you had your camera positioned from an elevated position looking down. Thank you!
Actually, there's another sr626 under the coin battery. Coin battery run the digital and 626 for the analog.
I realized that later on. For the most part I consider these throw away watches after the batter dies.
Good Job.
Thanks!
Nice vid, you're only telling necessary things and not talking all the time !! 👍Now another video how to change the AG4-battery... 😉
I gave up on these watches and went back to my G-Shocks. LOL

Do you have a link to that watch band compass?

Where can i get same watch strap ?
How do I change the battery for the analog part?

where can I get the straps and what size are they?
I just mix and match straps from a few different watches.

Com9 estas Amigo.. Adios Senorita
how long does the battery work for? and does it void the waterproofing if you open it up?
Spray silicone grease on the O ring seal before putting the back on, it seals it like new again
@@No-timeforimbeciles thanks, unfortunately it stopped working and i didnt bother spending the same amount the watch costed to fix it lol
Where did you get that little compass ?
Amazon or Ebay.

Yes, you are right
Where do you get the replacement straps on line..
I just ended up buying different watches and swapping straps around.

Common mistake on these....it has 2 batteries, the little one sr626 underneath the large 2025, runs the hands
can you confirm if you can swim and shower with the Smael?
Kinda late, but you can swim with it but you can't shower with it.. the watch can't take hot water
there is another battery under the big one.
Yep, I figured that out. Thanks!!
Worked fine. But the analogue hands still don’t move! Maybe something is faulty??
how to reset "AC Operation"?
Sadly none of these smael watch videos show how to reset the AC
I have still the same problem..

Just buy another watch cheap enough buying batteries etc. this is as bad as cell battery my son does them. Will give it to him😎🤯
I agree it is cheap enough to pretty much be disposable.
