Dude, I will forever sing your praises. YOu may not have discovered it but after over 10 years of using every known trap to mankind, repellants, bombs, even firing my 12 g into the earth - I have NO MOLES. Thanks for your video on JUICY FRUIT GUM. I've spent probably $45 on Juicy Fruit but I have eliminated every mole mound in my yard and garden. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

We had such a bad mole problem new mounds in our yard every day!! I decided to give it a go I bought the big pack. Cut them in 3rds took down all the mounds, and put the gum in a bunch of the tunnels. And not one new tunnel in the last 3 weeks! Not one! I’m a believer!! Thank you for sharing this!

I had heard of juicy fruit original for killing moles. But maybe I did over kill by putting a quarter stick in several holes along the tunnel. I don't recognize a difference.
Looks like this post shows 1/2 stick in one tunnel. Is that right? How often did you do that before seeing a difference?

I've used that plunger style trap for a few years and got 94 moles with it. The key is to only press the soil down a little, they will attempt to repair the tunnel and get spiked.

    • @keithbailey8167

and to poke a hole in the tunnel the size a silver dollar, the next day check to see if the hole has been patched or filled back in if it has its an active tunnel, like you said cave in the tunnel and set your trap over the indentation.

Great vlog! It amazes me when a RUclips channel goes through the trouble to share something that could possibly and potentially help someone else and for free, the back lash of negativity that floods the comment section. Got to laugh at some that have "negative lives" and must share that unwanted spirit with others! Lets just keep them in our prayers, God bless.

I've used it for several years and it always seems to work. Sometimes I had to go through a few repeats but eventually they died or went away. My wife says it's a wives tale but after multiple applications, the evidence points to 'it works'. Pest control people say that moles eat grubs and worms so why would they eat juicy fruit. I don't know. I'm not a mole. However, it would be a great video if someone could get a live mole and see if it would eat the juicy fruit and what happened after it did.

FACT! Preach brother! We had digging critters all over our yard every year. We baited them with a Juicy Fruit back in the spring and have had a nice mound free lawn for the first time ever. We only had one reoccurrence. So we just re-baited today and it’s the middle of July. We’ve spent so much money on pellets, traps and even gassed the holes. Nothing worked until we tried Juicy Fruit! One more tip. Use disposable gloves to handle the gum to keep your scent off the gum.

The landscape fabric you're using can be found at Lowes/Home Depot, but they call it Contractor Barrier or Contractor Silt Fence. At Lowes, it's outside in the garden area right by all the weed fabric. You can also look for construction barrier. It's the same material. French drain can also be found at both Lowes/Home Depot.

I can say for sure that juicy fruit works. Our yard around our house is about 3 acres and it is adjoined by hundreds of acres of pasture. We have been using juicy fruit for years and it works. But don't expect to do this once and never see a mole again. I saw somewhere that moles are territorial and there will only be one per acre ... that's bull. Using traps I caught 5 in one hole in a week so that theory doesn't hold. Juicy fruit comes in these big packs of 3 at walmart for about 3 bucks. I unwrap about 8 pieces and slice them lengthwise into thin strips ... 3 strips per piece of gum. this is more the size of a worm which is what moles eat, then i go out and use a 3/4" metal rod to poke holes in the areas I see moles. Drop in a piece of juicy fruit and move on. Look for areas where tunnels intersect and do it there.. It helps if you can find a deep main run but it isn't so easy so shallow runs are ok. The shallow runs are where they are feeding anyway. This will work as the juicy fruit gets soft like a worm. So if one eats it and dies it won't be long before another one moves in... but there is still pieces of juicy fruit out there so they will eventually find it. If your property is like mine there are probably thousands of moles waiting to move in so this is a constant process but it does work and it is cheap ! best thing is if a dog or something gets a piece it won't hurt them .. much better than poison. So there you go ... load up the yard and keep a few packs on hand -- see activity -- put out some more. sorry for the long post.

You can actually buy corrugated piping like that with fabric already surrounding it. Then you 1. Don’t have to worry about creating a barrier and 2. Let the roots get right down by the water so they can utilize it all getting rid of stagnant water which can cause some issues. I plan on doing a ~ 150 sq ft raised garden using this method after we finish our yard work.

I was told by an old trapper that he always used rose stalks. The ones with the big ugly spikes thorns. Because he told me, and I can’t remember if it was voles or moles, but they don’t have an immune system and when they go past the thorns and get scratched , on their skin they get an infection and die. Same story here, I figured why not, and I’ll be darned, I had my great grandmother’s bush that used to rip my blue jeans in all the runs in the yard And I got rid of a boatload of them.

Awesome job on the moles! Lol but you showed a pest that drives me out of the garden sometimes. Fire Ants! Have you ever done a video on how to deal with them effectively?

well Daniel, when i moved to the house 20 years ago, we had voles and 5 star nosed moles, all over my back yard, I bought 5 packs of Juicy fruit gum, and stuck it in their trails and with in a month they were all gone and to this day I never had any come back, so yes I do swear by the gum, HAVE A GREAT AFTERNOON

You are 100% right, I am pushing 50 and as a boy, my Grandfather used bubble gum for moles. He also used to grow lots and lots of peppermint around the house and barn, he said that rodents hate the smell from rabbits to mice etc... In the Fall, he used to sickle the mint and sprinkle it in the basement and root cellar. P.S. He also had a jack russell dog for rodents. Great Video

You could also put hardware mesh or small aviary wire at the bottom of the raised beds. That will keep them out.

We're a long way from you and no idea if you have caster bean plants in your region. If so we use the beans for the moles same way your using the JF, just poke a hole in there tunnel and drop in a bean (green, not the brown dried ones). Only issue is you will have the Caster bean tree growing and they are a pain, so we pull and trash them. The trap you have we use also and it works great, but best results have been when we push down the section of the tunnel under the trap trigger so they really have to push it back up to get through. Keep up all the good videos your doing a great job, and at what level do you fill the water to on the self wicking containers LOL.

Peppermint plant. Take branches n leaves n stuff them in the holes, doesn't kill them but they won't be back to the spot. After a little chasing they'll be gone till a new one moves in. You can make a tea n dump that down the hole but I had no luck without the foliage. Got that from Cisco, gardening with Cisco, Cisco, it's on his website :)

Commercial weed block can be bought at your local Tractor Supply and if they don't have it they will order it with days! Also old sheets work great and are dirt cheap at thrift stores.
    Good luck

Whirly-gig... Old folks used to have these in their yards, all kinda shapes. Propeller on one end to catch the wind, which would cause the figure to move, also had a small flap on the back of the prop which would cause a vibration. Moles will run from vibration

I use silt fence for land scape. Many construction sites will give it to you after their finish using it. Works great and cheap.
