We hope this encourages you to experience this wonderful train in Alaska! Which one do you prefer? 🤔

Which class did you prefer? Is the gold star worth the extra cost?

@Amber Boney We did like both equally. It depends on what your preferences are. If you like to have a full meal and a bartender in the car, then you might want to go with the Goldstar service. (Those are included in your ticket)
If you are OK without those, then you will like the Adventure Class. Although you will be able to grab a sandwich or a snack in the bistro. We liked Adventure Class because we weren't assigned to the seat. So we could move through the car and enjoy the views on either side. Also, the shared Dom car was barely used by others, so we spent a good amount of time there.
      Hope that helps! 😀

The fall colors were absolutely beautiful! We will be riding the train around Sept 4/5 of 2024 from Anchorage to Denali. When was this video taken? I also enjoyed your comparison of the 2 classes. I think we will do adventure!

Hi @donnac.7119! That would be a great time you picked. This was shot around 3rd week of September, towards end of fall season. Thank you so much! 😊🙏 We are so glad to hear it helped pick which train class to take. The adventure is less constraint if you like to walk around. We do have reviews on things to do around Alaska! Let us know if you have more questions. Thank you again! Cheers! 💕

So you can't move between the cars if you're in Gold Star? I'm taking the trip later this month, bit from Fairbanks to Anchorage. Was hoping i could explore other cars, maybe the cafe if was looking for something extra.

I believe that will depend on the cars configuration. In our case, we weren't able to because we were seated in the first of Gold Star Service car.(maybe there was a way to bypass that kitchen, but we never asked how to). Basically, the kitchen is located on the first floor in front of each Gold Star Service car. So, if you get to sit on the last of Gold Service Cars, then you can move through the cars that are in the back for sure. Usually, they attach several of Gold Star Service Cars in the front of the train, then bistro car followed by the Adventure Class Cars.
Hopefully, I didn't make it more confusing here 😅
Have fun on your trip, and enjoy Alaska!

@EMEM BEA You're very welcome! Out of curiosity, if you will be staying in one of the front cars. And if you find a way to move in between them... please let us know! Enjoy! ☺️

Hi Chris! The Alaska Railroad does not have WiFi and at some points of the train ride you will not have any service on your cell phone. Hope this helps! Thank you. 😊
