I LOVED this show! This franchise is criminally under appreciated. There is no reason this couldn't have been Ninja Turtles big. In fact, TMNT had the good sense to include alien dinosaurs
I was also front and center with this one every Saturday morning on USA kids network cartoon express! Wish they would have done more with this franchise.
I knew Coca-Cola got into the entertainment business, but I didn't know about this show until long after it was canceled. It was just interesting to see that logo on something other than *Punky Brewster* reruns.
@@MontviewBlvdBabiez I watched it during it's afternoon run, and I have a fog of nostalgia for it. But I don't think I have a single episode plot to recount.
We need a shared Dino saucers Dino Riders universe. And while we're at it let's throw in Dynowarz: Destruction of Spondylus is a game by Bandai for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You know what, I think I'm going to go play Dynowarz right now, assuming my NES still functions.
The twin failures of Dinosaucers and Dino-Riders were two of the greatest disappointments of my childhood. At least I still have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the evil Triceraton Empire for my space-dinosaur fix.
From Germany here: Absolutely adored the show. The German Dub was really well done in my opinion. Shame that they never gave the licenses to make a box set of the series.
I remember in one episode the evil Tryanos are trying to find the largest diamond...they find the Astro-dome baseball diamond and battle it out with the Dinosaucers who are there learning about baseball. Bonehead was upset after listening to the baseball on the radio, thinking that the animals on earth were fighting, not realizing it was a game and the animals are team mascots.

Someone may just want to keep the memory of their project. Especially in this day and age where whatever remake you pump out will be hated no matter what.
Den-Ver, the last Dinosaur! He's my friend, and a whole lot more! Man, that song was an earworm. The show was lamer than Dinosaucers, but, had a more memorable theme song. Hell, some of you now have it stuck in their head.
Michael Uslan is a wonderful person and I respect his work a lot. It’s amazing to know that a series like this helped launched his career. Great humor in this video too. I will certainly have to look this show up.
Also, in the one episode (and don't ask me how I remember this one joke from this one episode so clearly), The Dinosaucers and Tyrannos decided, of all things, a football game would determine who had the right to remain on Earth. Secret Scout David sent Bonehead to have fresh, "new jerseys" made out for the Dinosaucer team. The result of which is, of course Bonehead comes back with fresh team uniforms for the Dinosaucers, emblazoned with a silhouette of the state of New Jersey as the team logo. Even as a 9 year old child, I groaned at the pun.
@IffyJottere There it is, Myth Confirmed! 😆 Y’know... those jerseys would make for a cool retro shirt 🤔 I’d wear one and just wait for the one person in like a million who would actually get the joke 😅
These guys were huuuge in Mexico in the early 90's, everybody with a pulse here who were kids in those years remember them fondly and we were always baffled that we never got any toys whatsoever. Being that their release here more or else coincided with the release of Jurassic Park in 1993, they have so much of an audience that they make the rounds on reruns to this day.
I watched this cartoon any time I found it as a kid. I don't remember it being on regularly but I think TBS ran Dinosaucers and Bionic 6 back to back. Now I need to go watch the intro again it was so catchy!
When I was a kid, I loved this show so much, my mother took a bunch of VHS tapes and recorded a bunch of episodes for me. I'll never forgive myself for not keeping those tapes.
Loved this show when I was a kid. I recorded my favourite tv themes to audio cassette and video cassette back then, and Dinosaucers was one of them. Glad you covered this one.

And I'm a TMNT super fan and have so much original art, comics, toy art and on but if Dinosaucers had been anywhere the size of TMNT I am not sure I would have gone with the Turtles the next year.
Oh, btw, Dinosaucers was kinda big here in Argentina (we knew them as "Dinoplatívolos", kind of a direct translation). I don't recall seeing the toys, but I can bet my arse we received them. A lot of brazilian stuff was imported here.
finally, a youtube channel that speaks to my 36 year old soul. I can't remember a single episode, but I remember that DI-NO-SAU-CERRRRRRRRRRRRS theme song quite clearly lol. Excellent bit of history, thank you.
YOU DID IT!!! YES!!!!!! Then you did an Oddities episode about the (would-be) toyline, & i think it was maybe a year ago you did History of Dino-Riders & a few others that didn't last as long as DinoSaucers did & that refueled my hope this would be coming...eventually. No question, this is my favourite channel for childhood nostalgia & i've lost count at how many times a little 10-15 minute video from you guys has been the highlight of my week. THANK YOU!!
Dude you have my hold childhood on this channel I love it!! I've been looking for the most obscure shows I could think of and yup you have an episode lmao mucho kudos!!!
Ah! TV ad from Brazil! As far as I know it was a successful series here, I remember my friends talking about it. I saw toys at stores, but they were expensive and not really available at most toy stores.
It's pretty wild to think that both this and Dino-Riders, pretty much the most brilliant kids show concept ever (Star Wars meets Dinosaurs) weren't huge successes. I seem to VERY vaguely remember seeing the show as a kid. I def. remember and even had tons of Dino Rider toys. Great video, I love seeing anything Dinosaucer themed, Gosh do I wish it would have been a hit. I'd have been ALL over this toyline as a kid. I mean even take into point Ninja Turtles basically went there with the Triceratons. That was one of my FAVORITE TMNT figures and it's...well...BASICALLY a Dinosaucer in a manner of speaking. Same concept. Also I had no idea Uslan made them. That's so cool!
It's very wild that they never were a bigger thing, as you said. I'm from Spain and I'm pretty confident they never aired Dino-Riders in Spanish TV (I basically watch EVERY SINGLE cartoon the aired), and yet, I perfectly remember going with my parents to the biggest shopping mall in my area back in 1992-1993, as a 6-7 year-old child, and going crazy with these toy figures of over-sized dinosaurs with futuristic armours and laser cannons on them. It was the best thing I had ever seen in my life! And yet I think that was the only time I say those toys, to the point it took me years (if not decades) to figure out this was an actual toy and it was based on an American cartoon. With Dinosaucers what happened here is that kids would love the show but there were no toys being sold (or at least they weren't massively distributed). I remember my grandma bought me a comic of Dinosaucers as a birthday present. It was a proper edition, with a hardcover.
Thanks Ed! Hoping someday the right person/people will help me see this line made official. European VHS you say, youll need to tell me more. I have a lot but always try and fill the gaps.
As a guy in his late thirties who grew up in Brazil, I remember the cartoon and definitely remember the action figures. Glasslite was a big deal in Brazil back then.
