About The Wandering Village:
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with the creature to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world that now surrounds you.
Build your village
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over the creature's back. Plan production chains and optimize them to utilize the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Live on the creature s back
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with the creature and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Discover different biomes
Travel through a multitude of different biomes and adapt your village to their unique opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artifacts.
Research new technologies
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Survive the wastelands
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

As one of your subscribers, I just wanna say : Please don't forget to get enough rest, with those daily uploads.
Everyone who likes your post wants you to get enough rest.
Exactly, been about 2 years with RCE and i can't remember even a single day break he took from this. He plays on twitch, he plays for RUclips, he plays for patreons, then he even has to get the videos edited(By Schmichael) and then also has to upload them, and probably has to also take care of his house as well, along with Paddy 🐾
@@anicrue Sneakily asking for likes this way is something only an architect would do
@@zandkoek it was in reply to the original message, not my own. I just want RCE to take a break and rest
@@samanyuxkaushal he took nearly 2 weeks off last Christmas... of course to do this he basically had to work 14 doubles leading up to it to get enough videos in the pipeline to cover the daily uploads which you rightly point out he didnt miss.
Much like a tree falling in the woods, if RCE takes a day off and works an extra shift to cover it, did he *really* take a day off? 🤣
I wish games like this should get more attention , the uniqueness of game , cartoony graphics , out of the box concept ( kind of sounds like an architect ).
An architect only cares about appearances. An engineer can care about appearances and features as long they have a PURPOSE.
Yeah sure, but look at the design of the game. The mechanics are innovative, but brilliant yet simple. An ordinary economical strategy game has become very interesting due to a few fresh mechanics concerning the Onbu and it's path. Such efficiency in improving the gameplay is definitely a feature that only an engineer could have.
Architect bad but game good. Concluded.
Absolutely loved this game when it was in beta or pre release i guess few months back . So now that's it's out , we need more of it videos . Not continuously but frequently
Wait it's out!? I played the demo for HOURS!
It officially releases today
As an architect, I love watching your videos over my lunch break! Makes me laugh!
damn
A masochist huh...
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming a little, probably. If you want a shaming spot for us architects in this game, we could be the ones responsible for collecting the poo
You probably wish you were an engineer every time you watch these videos
Don't try to get in his good books mate. He's loyal to engineers
I love the Nausicaa vibes of this. Giant creatures, poison forests, rushing to remove spores... so cool
Glad to see I'm not the only one who thought that. An actual Nausicaa city builder could be pretty interesting.
Matt's genuine glee about Onbu being happy really says it all.
Recently learnt that "Onbu" in Japanese meant piggyback. And suddenly the whole reason the creature name is Onbu made so much sense!
I bet you would also enjoy playing Airborne Kingdom, where you build a hovering city and have to keep in mind tilt while expanding! And it's beautiful.
agreed
Just learned onbu means "to carry on ones back" cool!
Mr Engineer just an FYI(which you may ignore). If you hold Shift when selecting research you can queue up multiple researches to run. Enjoy this darling game!
We need more of this series
I absolutely love his wandering village series
8:55 Mr. Editor didn't study their screen well enough. You can see that he didn't have a sleep option when he was approaching the forest, he tried to make Onbu run. Sleep unlocked right after he entered the forest
Onbu is the architect of your survival, and you’re trying to teach him to be the engineer of his own destiny. No wonder there were trust issues in the beginning.
also he possibly dug into the rock spikes(hitting trust) based on the messages that appeared last video.
After watching your video I noticed the compost heap takes one dung and turns it into three fertilizer.. . So it would probably be more practical to put your compost heap closer to your Farms that way your people make one trip instead of three...
Good spot!
It would be so cool if the onbu could remember if you tried to help or hinder him and then that would effect his future trust in you. Like if you told him to lie down in a poison cloud, the next time he trusts you less. Or if you told him to run through it, next time he would trust you more.
Please make longer episodes, could watch this all day! Love your sense of humor 💙
So happy you are playing this again!!! It's so cool!
Is this what being a quarian feels like? Living in a moving object, sending scouting parties to bring useful stuff and being naturally good engineers?
Interesting question. In many ways the Quarians have it harder but there are a few areas I can see Onbuians having it harder. No other Onbus around to help when things go bad for example and I doubt a well cared for Onbu will last as long as a well cared for starship.
Honestly my favorite game to watch from our beloved RCE.
You should record way more from this game (:
Have a great day,
Greetings from Germany
Honestly wouldn’t mind if this became the main game on your channel. Put simply. More videos of this please.
Ever since I found this channel, at each video I feel more and more happy I did. I'm aspiring to be a engineer (geological engineer but still) but I also really like games so seeing these two subjects mixed up by such a wholesome person makes me smile :)
I am enthralled with this series. I haven't looked forward to something this much, on RUclips, in at least a few months. No bridges tho so no reviews. :( I want to buy a shit just because I sleep under them, sometimes. ;) Love ya
Heart for typo
Hmmm imagine having a bunch of farms on your back and they make enough food to feed you some how.
Bought the game a few days ago and i love it, my first attemed stoped at Day 111 but right now i have my second run on day 315 and still going. The only annoying part is the lack of space i face now, hope the devs will add something like extenders for the sides or an other way for some extra buildings to place.
This is so cute, how have I missed this game!?
Your museums are growing on a perfect shape plot of land
Reminds me of a game that never got finished where you had your little flying island-copter, and you had to drop down with some kind of elevator to fight monsters and gather resources.
Always Wanted to see you play this lovely game, nicely done, fellow engineer!
He actually played it when the demo was released months ago until he couldn't anymore
Same
@@SkelitonLord227 I remember that he almost lost the game but he got to the end of the demo.
Loving this Matt, was hoping you'd do a full playthrough after I saw the early access footage.
I hope you produce the Architectural Engineer that bridges the gap between Architects and Engineers, thus bringing peace to the trades that have to build it all!
Imagining the ASMR research needed to gain Umbu's ultimate-trust-level.
Keep up this series I enjoy this game. And I don't have a platform to play it yet. I've searched other videos and none are enjoyable to watch like urs are. Keep it up man great stuff!
I really would like longer episodes of this game. The gameplay is fairly slow so 20 minutes just feels like the start of an episode.
Nombu when he's nomming his shrooms
Not an engineer, (not an architect either!), not interested in the general type of game you play (or at least used to)... still got hooked on your channel months ago (love the accent and the useful vocabulary, I'm booshing things left and right now), just bought the third game now to play along.
So... developers, give this man your money, what he does works wonders. :)
Peace, love and hard hats!
The hit sequel to FTL: Faster than Light. SoS: Speed of Smell.
17:04 Oh water from air doesn't work in the desert? Well I'm glad the devs figured that out but the people from water seer certainly don't seem to have.
Pretty sure that was a dunk on those scam projects.
@ seems pretty esoteric
8:53 well jokes on you editor it wasnt unlocked when the onbu entered the poison forest
This guy puts out videos so fast I can't keep up
This is my favourite game you've done so far!
Totally regret not having a second scavenger hut early on. Hit a bottle neck late game for knowledge that'd have been avoided if I had the hut earlier.
This is an awesome game and Let's Play. Interesting to watch and I will definitely play it in the near future.
This is a good game to watch.. slow pace and quite fun tbh
So happy your playing this again
i wish you'd put the playlist on the discription like the ep1 whenerve u do a series gameplay.. its really hard to find the first ep.. most of the time.. :
I'll try and remember to, trouble is I never know which game will turn into a series!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming we want those seriesnado king of all engineers..🙇
I once had a dream about this game, it was some guy zooming out from the onbu, revealing another onbu, and another and so on and so on forever… UNTIL I woke up
"We learned new onbu commands, let's try one"
"What command did you give?"
"Roll over!"
"You dumba "
Love the content where you play the game and not goof around. Cheers!
i'm really glad he's back to alternating between silly building content and serious planning content w gameplay! the balance has been restored
I am not sure I could play this game. I would probably spend all of my resources as quickly as possible getting treats and petting onbu and starve my poor tiny people. Onbu is just such a good boy, he deserves your undivided attention.
I fear for Onbu what Josh would do with this game.
Love the asthetic of this game so much.
Tip for the game: if you create two research places, you research will be complete twice as fast.
God, this game is so cool and unique! More tortoisaur rides please!!
This game is good. Wish it add more details on animation, and since it is early access, can hope for good stuff.
"You're a nob Onbu" RCE 2022
😂
Keep it coming! Enjoy the series
This is the new timberboarn series
Yesterday i watched all vids from this game and then,NEW VID. 😍
This game is so brilliant! Really enjoying your vids of it
2:05 a very efficient brown patch, if you will...
Love this series. Please more.
oh god i looove this game please keep playing it
love this game, keep it up!
OMG I loved watching you play the game the first time I was hopping you’d come back I love it
Really enjoy this series.
i love this series, please do more
more of this game, please and thanks!
Play ARK for a mini series, it would be hilarious AND you can show us how well you can really build
Awesome awesome awesome! Guess it's gonna be yet another game I bought because I saw RCE playing it :D
This version reduce the severity of poison cloud quite significantly.
If you chose first button on think quickly(quicksand place) your scavengers would have fallen inside and you would have entered a basement with 4 knowledge points and glass
So I just noticed that Onbu's default route will _always_ go in such a way that it'll _always_ fall asleep in a poison forest. Or am I just noticing a pattern where there isn't one?
I'm pretty sure they programed the game to have him stop smack dab in the middle of hazards if not managing him well.
Can't wait until this comes out tomorrow!!
It releases tomorrow Pog
This game is so neat!
Why did I not hear about this game before your last video?!
The graphics are called “cell shaded”
YEEES, more Wandering Village!!!
18:50 "Forgive him, he's british"
Some crimes can never be forgiven.
I wasn't sure if I had to poop or throw up, but it turns out I had to lay on my back so I can hold in the stuff in my stomach that's making me need to throw up.
Throwing up is expensive
Looks very fun, definitely wishlisting this game :D
I wanna see the Line created on the back of an Onbu.
Onbu wagging his tail he like that pet
Definitely an interesting game. Look forward to more.
Hi RCE, thank you for purifying my day🙏
When i open youtube today, my feed got sullied by architect video recommendation, thankfully you came through🤧
i think you should replace workers in dunk colector with architect
man, i got to thank you, ive been watching you for almost 3years now, and every time, i got that little giggle for every joke u do, u do a great job and and u know it. thats why i love your work, passion and perseverance.
CHIMO!
(i'm french sorry for the worst english u ever saw)
I forget if RCE has played Frostpunk, I'd like to see him play it.
This game is sooo hype
Rce you should play scrap mechanic! It's like trail makers but you can build way more detailed and complex things
It's frustrating to see you're still not building the contaminators
I love watching this game, keep em coming!
you should give the onbu a name, its only fair given how much of a good boy it is
Onbu doesn't trust architects who tear out his spikes.
Can’t wait to see if you run into or over rather any bridges :) love the channel keep it up!
We need longer eps of this 😂
Yess!!!
Loving this series!
the plural of cactus is cacti lol
Amazingly magical, very engineering, thank you RCE +10wholesome
I'm so exited for the next episode of the wondering village 😍
More and more I am convinced all the best games are now indie. Btw onbu means piggyback in Japanese (負んぶ) 😁
Hey Matt, Vampire Survivors is having its full release soon, you should make more videos on it! I enjoyed your last one
