having a greek wife and travelling to greece every year, i like your greece videos very much. while visiting the kyklades you should not miss andros: very windy but incredible beautiful beaches, a lot of beautiful walls kithnos style and a wonderful chora on a big rock peninsula with a lighthouse island in front of it. little koufonissi close to naxos is very very beautiful too. different direction, but in fact my favorite islands are incredible mitilini (lesbos - had my wedding there in mythimna/molivos), wonderful limnos (sand dunes, wonderful rock sceneries, …. people there say one cries twice: once when you arrive because it is so dry, vulcanic and like a desert and once when you have to leave) one more must island is - to my opionion - beautiful green alonnisos (and skopelos because it is so close).
What a gorgeous island. For anyone who might care, the accent is on the E. So we get Fol-E-gandros. For the Panagia church, the g is pronounced like y. Panagia, which is an epithet for the Virgin Mary, means "All Holy One."
Dear Gabriel, I’m a big fan of your videos about the Aegean islands! I used to work as a skipper for sailing yachts when I was young, so I know the landscape and the wildlife of the Aegean Sea very well. Your videos bring back memories of that time… I admire your curiosity and your spirit of adventure. Have you ever thought of using a sailboat as your vehicle of exploration? It would give you a different perspective on those seascapes… Enjoy this lifestyle and keep sharing your journeys…
Great videos from Greece, a magical place for me since I was 21 and visited Patmos, Samos, Ios, known as (Irish overseas), now 67 still travel there every year. Safe travels Gabriel
Those stone walls on the fields are in order to create even cultivating ground for crops and to determine which field belongs to which farmer. Those rounds outside many old houses were used to grain seeds with the help of a donkey,to make your own flour or "fava",a local legume/plant been, famous also in Santorini and other islands on Cyclades.
My absolute minimum camping equipment weighs about 7 kg: Tent 3 kg, air mattress 2.2kg, sleeping bag 2 kg. So that's exclusive my cooking equipment (can eat out, or eat uncooked food), clothing (2 shorts and 2 shirts only needed) and entertainment (iPhone and powerbrick) and personal hygiene (toothbrush and soap and towel). Cheers!
Love it! Love it! Love it! Today I spoke a friend who has a house on the island of Donousa. He told me it is a fantastic place to discover also the neighbouring islands of Irakleia and Koufonisia. And there are many more in that corner of the Cyclades. I don't know if you're still planning to go there.
Wow, so beautiful! I had no idea there are so many small islands there! Not many tourists, that clear water and the nice quaint restaurants at night by the sea…..yessss

Hi Gabriel, I'm amazed and curious to find out what do most of these people do who live on these islands do for a living it seems great to vacation there or retreat from the mainland am sure many people have some sort of business like a restaurant or some other type of business. But to be a kid growing up on these islands I'm sure they would want to know what the outside world is like. These islands are so incredibly peaceful, which is why you would want to leave, especially if you can create a life for yourself there.
Hi friend. All these small islands have appropriate schooling up to high school . Then , most of the students can attend university in a bigger island or the mainland
I can asure that you've been around this country & seen much more than most greeks will ever get to experience. I would recomend an isothermic bag with a frozen bottle of water in it, to keep things cool (milk etc) during all these long hours of exploring in the sun... It helps. Also a good quality pair of portable binoculars ( e.g.10x30) can help decide if a hike is worth the effort. Keep going...your vlogs are amazing. Try the mainland as well, there's a lot more !
Hallo Gabriel we love looking to your video's speciaal from Greece. You also must go to Kythira beautifull small island. We love Greece we bin there for 45 years on holliday. And have also seen a lot of islands. .
I just fill up my water bottle, not sure of its capacity but a little less than a liter. I usually bring something else such as juice or milk and then buy other beverages along the way.
What's with the spiders. LOL, You have me jumping out of my skin Gabriel. Let me see, spiders vs beautiful perfect beaches, beaches for the win. Thanks, Gabriel!
Not my favourite beach but I remember after that hike it was a much needed refreshment! The best beach is the one with the lighthouse, another long hike to go there but that makes it more enjoyable the swim!
Hello Gabriel, as a friendly suggestion: you should vary your approach to the Greek island videos to make it more interesting. Your Greek island videos appear the same.
Love the adventurous spirit you have but since you love Greece so much (and you pronounced Sikinos right), please know it is fo-LAY-gan-dros. Not fol-ay-GAN-dros. Emphasis on the LAY. It's a tongueful but that's Greek. Geia sou.
In the Cyclades group that he is traveling they do have many similarities. Dodecanese or Sporades for example are diffrent from Cyclades but again within the group you will find similarities. Beyond that it is a matter of personal choice and the kind of vibes a visitor can get from a place.
And yet, they are not. You have to experience each one of them and see for yourself how diverse they are, even the islands of the same cluster as the Cyclades.
