I am very motivated becoming an Emma Cline reader after this great video. I like the way the tension between insiders and outsiders being portrayed. It looks like in our world, the new cast system is accepted by the majority and it is safe for everyone to remain where they are. The ones who attempt to move up are outcasts who will always live under the stress of being identified. I also felt like she is very regretful about the life she has chosen and targets she has put forward. This anxiety sounded very much of a religious subconscious living in each individual even if we think we are ultra secular.
