Hi, Great video. I have read "The Time Machine" by H.G. Wells. That was interesting. I hadn't heard of "The Invisible Man" before. I might pick it. Thanks for introducing it to me.

I personally liked The Invisible Man better than The Time Machine - although my favourite of Wells so far is The Island of Dr Moreau. He's a great writer!

Hi - found your channel thanks to MJ. I am intending to start reading Robin Hobb early next year. Interesting what you say about her. HGWells is one of my fave authors so it was great hearing you talk about The Invisible Man like you did. I agree the tone shifts half way.

Great video. Someone gifted me the complete collection of HG Wells recently, some I have read, others I’d never even heard of. I’m looking forward to reading them. You have a great accent. North American with a hint of northern English perhaps?

That's lovely! I've really been enjoying journeying into Wells' work, hope you love it too. Ha, I'm from the Netherlands, and I do live in the north of England ☺️

When Georgette wakes on the wrong side of the bed, it's bound to be a bad Heyer day. 🙃

I don't know if you have seen the old Universal movie of the Invisible Man, but I can tell you that Griffin comes from the same school as Dr. Moreau, Dr. Jekyll and Dr. Frankenstein : he is obsessed by his power, which ultimely destroys him. The secondary effects that the invisibility drug caused was paranoia and a sensation of power.

I haven't seen it, but that's an excellent point on Griffin being closely related to the other power-hungry figures!

I would really like to hear your detailed, spoiler filled, comments regarding ¨The Awakening¨ by Kate Chopin. Currently reading the book and it's unsettling.

I'll add it to my list of videos to make! It is a difficult book in terms of the content. Hope you find it a rewarding experience though!
