    Cheers for answering my previous comment. With my Simpson trip (Frenchman’s/ Madigan), thoughts on long range tank or jerry’s? And 35’s or the 33’s. Cheers 👍

    • @4x4brothers
      @4x4brothers  10 месяцев назад +1

      Few things to weigh up mate. The cost of a long range is definitely a lot more than Jerry’s but depending if you have the room to carry them also. Then if it’s only this trip you would need the tank big outlay for that too but if it’s a ongoing useful addition and not effecting say where your spare goes underneath and then having to get a rear bar also I’d do it

    @4:20 minute mark you mention getting the Desert Parks Pass. That's for travelling within South Australia. However, the Madigan Line is in the NT, and QLD, so does not require said pass. You do need a permit to drive the Madigan Line, and applications need to be submitted at least 4 weeks before travel.

    • @4x4brothers
      @4x4brothers  8 месяцев назад

      Correct mate sorry we should have been a bit clearer on that. We needed both for the route we travelled

    • @tempestv8
      @tempestv8 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@4x4brothers Even if you had come down Hay River Track to stop at Poeppel Corner and then continue along QAA line towards Birdsville, at no point would you need the South Australian Desert Parks Pass. So I am curious to know your route where the SA Parks Pass would be required.
      Also interested to know what caused the two punctures? Side wall damage?

    • @4x4brothers
      @4x4brothers  8 месяцев назад +1

      You know what mate your absolutely right we have balls’d that one up and got that pass when it wasn’t needed now looking properly at the map. We didn’t even notice this with the border lines completely glazed over that. Our mistake and waste of money 🤦
      Both were sidewall damage either from a rock or tree branch or root that did damage

    • @tempestv8
      @tempestv8 8 месяцев назад

      @@4x4brothers you should write into the parks people and they may be able to issue you a refund. Failing that, you have remaining time on the passes to do another trip! 😅

    • @4x4brothers
      @4x4brothers  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@tempestv8 yeah it is what it is our mistake. As long as the money spent on the passes still keeps going into the area it’s all good

    Doing the same trip after the BRB next year.
    Same vehicle Y 62 patrol. We will also be heading to the geographical centre of the Simpson Desert. Roughly how much fuel did you use? Any feedback would be great. Great episode too 👍🍻

      Thanks for watching mate glad you enjoyed it.
      It’s unreal out there you’re going to love it if you haven’t done before. Geo of the simmo is next on our list out there when we get back out. Fuel wise Dave used 22L per 100km. The chopped 62 was 23L and the white one was 24L. We budgeted worst case on 30 for contingency so if you do that you will be laughing
