if you need a job, even if it's a temporary seasonal job, now is the time to apply for retail stores for back to school and the holiday season. I used to work at Target and the manager told me that back to school season is the ideal time, and if you keep your weekends open (especially Saturday) for better chance of getting hired.
The positions I would recommend would be cashier (they basically stand in one place all day), general merchandise (they stock the floor with uboats and clean the departments), and fulfillment (they gather items around the store for online orders).
I did fulfillment when I was at Target and you walk all around the store and have to find the items no matter where they are, even if they are at returns, restock bins, the changing room, in backroom shelves, on backroom uboats, or still on the truck! lol If you don't like scavenger hunts, you won't like fulfillment. You also have to pick them fast cause you have a time limit. If you can't find something, you have to notify your team leader or manager right away. That's about it. In 2020, the Target didn't let fulfillment box the items for mail so the job technically got easier but your store may have you packing the items to send out. I used to bring my bluetooth speaker to listen to music cause the store music doesn't reach the backroom. If you have warehouse experience, it will help with packing. I would use a fabric steamer to make sure clothes were sanitized, wrinkle-free, and folded before they get packed away for shipping though you're not really expected to, it's just something I would do.

This is so awesome! Children can watch the videos and pick out, a booksack after watching videos, from different stores. It’ll keep the parents, from having to do returns. My mom always bought us two backpacks a year. As an adult, I’m obsessed with backpacks. Everytime I say I’m not buying another one, I do. I have my purses, but I hv to carry a backpack when I leave the house.
My son is 28 yrs old now, but I miss going back to school shopping for him, and for myself when I was in college. I like the oversized Strawberry 🍓 Jansport backpack ❤ I think the chalkboard idea for your son will be fun for him... good idea😊
I still love stationary. I’ll buy new pens etc in the Fall . I may even buy a new outfit 😉and I’m a few years beyond school age!
Come to think of it, I still by paper, pens, white out, and Stick notes...all the basics, but not as fun as the backpacks, binders, school clothes, lunch boxes, etc❤️
Love back to school. I shop and donate to the local schools. I still get my shopping fix! It helps those who can’t afford it. ❤
You are so sweet to share all this for parents before they have this headache to deal with, all that sh be supplied from school system like it is or was in Utah. We didn’t even supply tissues, but, property tax was high😢
Our kids even got to ride their bikes to school in the summer for breakfast and lunch

I use the clear pencil boxes as a snack box for my boys. I put a small snack bag and juice pouch.. keeps crackers or chips from getting smashed!
All of my children are grown, But I have to get stuff for two my grand children , ages 16, and 15 . They are in 11th and 9th grade. So thanks for the video. ❤❤

I teach 4th and always pick up fun stuff for those kids who can’t afford it. You’d be surprised how treasured Star Wars pencils would be for a kid with limited resources. My advice: pickup some fun stuff and donate them to your child’s classroom. The teacher will know right away who needs that extra love.

WOW!! I cannot believe all the school stuff needed for the kids. Supplies doesn't account for the cost of clothing. My, my...I remember the days of 2 pencils, notebook and crayons and I walked to school, in the snow... 😅 😂

Yes, I have only one kid and I just spend $100 for school supplies. They ask for ziplock bags and tissues that I did buy. That I don't remember having with I had to supply when I was in school. Then you have to pay to rent the tablets at school that they make your kid use (not my idea) and they still ask you to supply there needs when tissues and things get low. Um...no I don't think so what is our tax money go towards. Keep in mind this is coming from a lady that even works at a school. I think it's getting more ridiculous.

The paper roll chalkboard is so cool, lots of good DIY'S the Targets in Chicago have Crayola crayons $.25 right now and markers$.50 I stocked up lol and I don't even have a child in school but they'll be great for donating and if I get the urge to color

Oh my goodness. I went to a Catholic school growing up. Those nuns would have LOVED those bendable rulers!! They like the wooden ones but they would have gone to town with you with those rubber ones!! 🤣🤣. When the Catholic schools started closing I had to go to public schools. We had NO lockers or backpacks. We had to go to one school for 4 classes and then walk two blocks to go to the High School and have 4 more classes. We had to carry all our books and we had at least 3 big books every day back and forth, and had to walk home with them all. And then start the day all over again!! What a nightmare it was. I would have paid $90 for a backpack back then!! Going down memory lane. Some good times, some nightmare times!!
Listen, your last dollar tree had me in Dollar Tree. I just racked up on some of that school stuff for my office. The stuff is so cute. My daughters going to college and we will he getting items too. Target here I come

Oh wow I never thought about lighting for lockers because it's been awhile since I was in school, in college they had some lockers in the basement like they could be rented from an academic club but for some reason all these great products weren't quite available in stores yet and a bunch of weird hardware developer tools came up for a few years around graduation but now kids get locker chandeliers it happened so fast
Like if I wanted to make a locker chandelier back then, I'd have to use an arduino or raspberry pi

Are the $90 backpacks the ones with Kevlar for student protection (shootings) ?
No they're just fancy backpacks but if you need the kevlar shield, you can buy bulletproof inserts online. Since school shooters tend to use rifles, you need at least level 3A, level 3+, or level 4 rating. Anything less will only stop pistol bullets. They typically weight 1-2 pounds and can cost as high as $100-600. You can put them into any backpack.

Our kids are going back to school, next month. If, you don't get it now,it won't be here when you need it. I know parents who wait till the kids start school, so they know what they need. Different teachers want them to have certain notebooks and certain folders for different subjects. They should send a list out to the parents before school starts. But I guess that's not going to work because they don't know who's going to be in their classroom
I got those six spot caddies at the dollar tree for $1.25 instead of four dollars and I love them

Where I'm from there are no such things as lockers. You carry all your stuff in a backpack all day, everywhere.

In my day we only had five minutes to go to the bathroom and get things out of the locker. And we didn't decorate our cap and gown at graduation.

If I had a school age child, there's NO WAY, I'd SPEND $90.00 on a backpack!!!! Especially when they throw them on the ground, drop them in water ,LOSE them, FORGET them on the bus, leave them on benches,etc. . $20.00 is bad enough. $40.00, not even. I wouldn't even buy myself a $90.00 backpack. Retailers are nuts !!!!

Back to school is expensive anymore. When I was a kid in the 1970’s you’d be thought as weird if you had a backpack. And we didn’t need to buy stuff for the classroom
You had lockers in the 70s. Kids have to carry laptops, thick books, binders, and bulletproof shields everywhere now.
