When you exit the tunnel, you're on one of the most difficult skis runs in the Alpes. This video is of the whole run with a crash.

The run was in a difficult condition at the top this morning - watch my other video if you want to the full run without a crash.

Was going to say... Doesn't apologise for overtaking people in a narrow passage and doesn't even answer when someone is concerned. How to make sure the annoying tourist cliché survives.

@@Alexskiing Well a guy skied down and asked if "ça va?" and there was no answer (or at least not verbal). Usually nobody gives a damn about others crashing, so I think the fact someone takes the trouble to stop and ask if you're ok is worth at least a "oui merci".
@marc O'C that's my voice replying to him. The camrea is a 16mm lense with a fisheye making objects/people appear much closer.
I could already tell him coming out of the tunnel passing those people on the Pic Blanc before going down Tunnel (slope) that he was not in control. No consistent shorter turns to control speed. His speed kept building up, bouncing over the moguls being more and more out of control and then of course crash.
And
Everyone can go fast, but going fast and be in control, that’s another story. 😄
Tunnel was even in a pretty good shape, no knee deep moguls.
But yes like someone already mentioned, he did post his crash we have to give him that.

Yea I had a ski trip borderline ruined because someone in the basic group was fast and my teacher mistook fast for good and the advance group was stuck following someone who could barely pizza
nah there's time where the vibe just hits right and you full send knowing damn well if the slightest wrong happens you're lowkey oom. Have done that skiing (infierno-formigal-spain with shit snow- 120kph where if i found even a tiny bit of rock (likely) i would probably break a knee, in my motorcycle (if anything bad happened i could not brake hard enough to fix it) and in my shitbox volvo. mood just has to hit right.
This chap IS damned skilled - went straight over, no waiting and was holding it together extremely well at that speed. I did this once only in the 80's with my brother and it was terrifying - just about managed it without falling over but much slower than this,
This is not damn skilled haha. He's obviously not in control at this speed and doesn't take turns in a pattern. Just all over the place and going to fast, that's why he fell
If you never eat shit on the odd occasion you are not challenging yourself.... be safe out there.... back on slopes after two decades away and absolutely loving it.

The skiing was okay but I'm mostly impressed by how fast you got your skis back on. Always takes me forever to get them back on mid-slope, although that looked like an okay spot. My bindings are tight enough that they rarely pop off though so I figure I just don't get much practice.
The most important thing is to first get the lower ski back on first, then the upper ski

Depends from how steep is your slope. On very steep one it is not possible cause your downhill ski is only on inner edge and it twists when you try to step in. It is better to use your downhill leg to stand on it strong, step in upper ski, make kick turn and here you are.
@@wildylupous thats one possibility. In this case I like to stand below both of my skis, cross my lower leg above the upper leg and step into the lower ski. If it's really really steep you can additionally hold your ski with your hands. After that I can easily step into the upper ski :)

The entire slope is not difficult, only this wall on the beginning.

Jerk on a piste, tailgater on a motorway... There's too many of that sort around everywhere
Lack of manners and respect for other skiers made his crash satisfying rather than evoking sympathy
Camera was getting awfully close to those ceiling lights in the tunnel
Don't worry. You can tell they're durable because they've survived many skiers' gopros clanging off of them like a card against bike spokes

That must be one of the longest ski tunnels. Impressive they got all that snow in there. Anyway not a major wipeout. Easy to do in cruddy snow. Pain having to hike up to get the ski though. At least it wasn't buried somewhere :)

Hello and thanks for sharing. What is your cam setting? Footage is very stable and i was wondering about camera position (head or chest) and use of gimbal (if yes, which one?) or not.

My guess is he likes moguls and is good at keeping his head steady because i was thinking he had a gyroscope or gimbal setup too. Nice work.
When did you ski this? Awesome skiing, was there in April but the tunnel was closed then. Not that I would have done it! Sarenne was lovely though

@@Alexskiing Yes, luckily I did, a week at Nozawa Onsen Japan and a week in Lech Austria. The weather played ball so I was able to ski every day.

Not bad at all ! despite the fall ...
You were lucky the snow was cool and few bumps. You would have hurt yourself otherwise ... Look at the rocks under your skis, where you took off ...
You probably were not bent enough on the front of your legs (too much behind?), So you probably crossed your skis, became uncontrollable or lost the balance for the same reason.
The main mistake you made (in my opinion), is not to mark a stop at the end of the tunnel, to focus on the wall, even for a minute (and also take a new breath ).

Right! I was not on my skis, but in front of my screen. But believe me, i very well know this slope.. 35degrees... And i'm quite sure of my analysis. Anyway... He 's good at ski!

I love watching overly confident skiers. You can tell this guy just loves squeezing his way through people and had such a big head with his skiing technique. I'm glad it happened to him and I'm sure others who were around him are too.

@@Hello_there_obi I don't have to ski a tunnel just to see or determine that what that man did was improper etiquette. He had absolutely no respect for that person exiting that tunnel. He was impatient and rude I've been skiing for 30 years and I can tell you that I don't need a ski a tunnel to know proper ski etiquette. I've been around in the mountain, and I've seen people like this. They usually are the ones who look like dopes falling on their asses. Case in point, this man.

It sucks you had to climb the hill to retrieve your skis. It looks very steep even on the screen.

You have the right to ski as fast as you like and the fall was an accident waiting to happen. You do not have right to charge past other skiers endangering their lives through reckless speed. If as you say you spend so much time in the mountains you should be aware of sking etiquette and if any of those you hurtled past had made an unexpected turn there's no way you could have stopped so you are skiing out of control #simples
