If you go out at the same time as the music, you might think that people disappear when the music turns on. To help with separation anxiety, it's a good idea to listen to the same music often. An animal's hearing is more sensitive than a human's, so it's okay to listen with the volume turned down. A lot of people have asked this question, so I'll give you a long answer. This is the most bizarre day my 7 year old cat and I have ever had. My cat is a female Tortie and more like a cat dog than any cat I have had. She isn't (wasn't) traditionally cat affectionate but we have a great friendship. She communicates with blinks and says "yes" with her mouth, even though the words don't form. She is very funny and a few times a week if it is cold she will crawl into my lap for warmth. I put this video on this morning after she got used to several non musical cat purring rain videos. WITHIN SECONDS she crossed the room, jumped into my lap, snuggled down and stayed there for several hours. I was stunned and didn't move until I was about to PEEPEE on myself. This has been playing for 8 hours. She has not once gone for her patrol around the backyard. She has snuggled on her perch and purred loud enough for me to hear. I asked her if she likes it and she blinks and says "YES". She has not nervously eaten. SHE RUBBED UP ON MY LEGS! This is a miracle. Great job and thank you thank you thank you.

This is the most relaxing video I've found,. Right now snow is falling outside my window and it's quieter than rain but the sound of the rain is good anyway as I'm listening.I'm practically asleep! DUDE! my 7 year old tortie who is more dog than cat did the exact same thing! she only crawls up in my lap when she is cold. The EXACT moment she heard this she crossed the room and curled up snug on my lap. I WAS STUNNED. I sat motionless for 2 hours, my legs were numb and I was about to pee on myself! It now has played non-stop (restarted) for 24 hours (I use blue tooth for tv and music). I now live with a different cat. I played it and listened all night. She woke me up rubbing her face into my hand. NEVER showed that kind of want for affection. She has been cat rubbing on my legs. THIS IS BIZARRE. I did try switching to different songs but she gave me stern in the eye looks, I switched back to this one and she did her "yes" blink. Just freakin bizarre.
I had a new foster who's super skittish escape containment accidentally this morning. She hid under a chest for several hours, outsmarting my food lure. But I put this on and less than 3 minutes later she came out with a little chirp and gratefully went back into her room. Worked like a charm and I'm playing it now for her while she naps
We have upstairs neighbors who sound like they are using sledgehammers 24/7 and I have to go out on set to film a lot, so I'm gonna start putting this on when I'm gone and see if she isn't so stressed when I come home. She's a bottle baby, abandoned at 10 days old during Hurricane Harvey, so that may have something to do with my leaving too. Thanks for this channel!

So I'm sitting here on my bed doing homework (which you really shouldn't do -- bad posture and all that -- but 3/4 are sitting with some part of their body touching different parts of my legs and just chilling. Something we do regularly regardless of music playing or not, but this seems to be pretty relaxing for all parties involved. Thank you for putting this compilation together. And I REALLY appreciate the fact that it's almost 12 hours long. This means I could potentially put it on for the kittoes to listen to while I'm at school all day.

It is now January 7th. I live with a completely different cat being. Kittykitty is 7. She has climbed up and slept in my lap 8 times today and took the most wonderful curled up snuggling cat naps in her life. This is more times in a day than in a year! She follows me around rubbing on my legs until I sit down so she can jump up. When the back door is open she will only go about 10 feet past the door. She stops when she can't hear the music and comes back. This is CRAZY!! Thank you
My Russian Blue had a strongly demonstrated preference for Santana ... particularly the ZEBOP! album. It's not exactly what I'd describe as calming music. My dog died last week so the two neighbor cats have been competing for my attention because I’m home all day (and now there’s no dog.) They started fighting (they’re vicious!) so I put this music on and they stopped fighting immediately. I wish I had it on video, it was pretty amazing. Music soothes the savage beast. Thank you!!

Every cat I've ever owned has loved music. I rescued a mother and her two little kittens over the summer from a friend who lived 2 hours away. I played soft music in my car on the way home and they never made a sound, just curled up and slept. I try and play it when they get a little too excited and especially if I have to go out for longer than a couple of hours. It works every time.

Hey, this music might actually work ... I've got two of THE most timid, terrified cats I've ever seen, and I've had numerous cats over the decades. This has been playing in my apartment all day and I went out and came home to ... one of the cats relaxing on my bed. It doesn't sound like much but for this cat, it's a HUGE first. Other one is still in hiding, alas. She might have to listen to this more often. 😸

Every cat I've ever owned has loved music. I rescued a mother and her two little kittens over the summer from a friend who lived 2 hours away. I played soft music in my car on the way home and they never made a sound, just curled up and slept. I try and play it when they get a little too excited and especially if I have to go out for longer than a couple of hours. It works every time.

She'll lay down near this , on her belly, with both ears perked up. Next time I look she'll be stretched out on her side beside it sound asleep. Every time.

I love this music, listening to it every single night. It’s purr-fect for a good nights sleep (see what I did there? Purr-fect as in a cat purring as my cat often comes onto my bed to snuggle up and sleep to this music, every night I reset the video to see how long I’ve slept. 🐈🐈⬛(ginger is my cat blaze, the other is my cat dexter, dexter is the one I’m talking about in this paragraph 🐈⬛🐈❤️

Hey, this music might actually work ... I've got two of THE most timid, terrified cats I've ever seen, and I've had numerous cats over the decades. This has been playing in my apartment all day and I went out and came home to ... one of the cats relaxing on my bed. It doesn't sound like much but for this cat, it's a HUGE first.
Other one is still in hiding, alas. She might have to listen to this more often. 😸
