Bruce Lee was definitely far ahead of his time when it came to damn near everything including nutrition. But, keep in mind he was doing this diet in the 60s and 70s and most people back then weren't even thinking about nutrition that way, even elite athletes. Nowadays, we know a lot about nutrition, supplementation and exercise, so I have no doubt that if Bruce were alive today, his diet would look very different. I'm sure he would still take in a lot of protein, but from cleaner sources, such as fish, beans, legumes, tempeh (which also has probiotics), tofu (which I'm sure he already ate), and seitan. He would probably be somewhere around a pescatarian to a vegan considering all the studies on the health benefits of those diets. I'm also sure he would still supplement very highly to make sure that his body got the highest levels and quality of nutrients, particularly in his, now, advanced age. When looking at someone like Bruce Lee, his genius is that he didn't crystallize in his thinking or anything else. Even after he beat the brakes off of Wong Jack Man (who challenged him to try and make him close his school), he saw the weaknesses of his Wing Chun and made the necessary changes which eventually became Jeet Kune Do. I believe this would have been the case in his life, had his still been alive today even at the age of 82. It would be interesting to see how he would have evolved. 🙂

I trained wing chun for quite some time under a true master and I know for sure that Bruce only knew some of the first part of the wing chun system, because Yip Man did not trust Bruce had the right temperament and behavior to learn the entire system when he was young.
Bruce sought Yip Man later on just before he died as a grown mature man to learn the rest and he probably would have, but Bruce died shortly thereafter.
Bruce was no Kung fu master, but he had a lot of talent, discipline and he worked extremely hard on conditioning and the limited knowledge he had of kung fu.
He punched the heavy bag 1000 times a day..the guy was very driven, fearless, laser focused and very strong physically and he also studied chinese philosophy.
Had he not died he would have probably become a true master in Kung fu at some point maybe in quite a few styles along with being a professional actor.
