I Tried BRUCE LEE'S Diet & Training | Nunchucks + Liver Congee
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 28 май 2024
- In today's video i tried following BRUCE LEE'S DIET & TRAINING. Arguably the most iconic martial artist to ever walk this earth. I thought it would be interesting to see his approach to fitness and nutrition as he isn't the typical bodybuilder.
Throughout this full day of eating I try a variety of chinese foods including liver congee, lei cha and Bruce Lee's favourite, beef with oyster sauce. Along with the food I follow his entire workout routine found from his actual workout journal. I even try and learn how to use nunchucks 😂
Hope you all enjoy the video! Thanks for watching

People tend to forget how long ago (in terms of fitness science) it was when Bruce was doing all this stuff. He didn't have access to all the information we do now, and came up with most of his diet and training through careful study and practice. That's what makes it all so interesting. To see what he got right all those years ago. Also as someone who lives in Asia and has done for years, seeing you eat that congee was painful haha.
There was pro bodybuilding back then, and there was access to information trough books and magazines. Only difference is that there was no google and RUclips back then.
@@gangstaman2069 no science wasn't half where it is right now

@@gangstaman2069 nobody competing in bodybuilding is healthy
@@jason6344 natural bodybuilding is the way to go
The big reason stuff like his pre-workout meal were so creative was because it was before supplements and pre-workout shakes and so on were even a thing so he was basically figuring it out by trial and error
It's why so many body builders have admired him, he was way before his time

Oyster sauce was accidentally created when a food stall vendor accidentally left some oysters simmering all day and found that they'd reduced to a syrupy sauce. It was enough of a hit he quit his job and founded a sauce company. Modern versions have salt, sugar, and soy sauce added.

I so wish bruce lee still lived today to throw crazy challenges to other youtubers that only him can complete like “1000 pushups in 2 minutes challenge” or “one finger handstand pushup challenge while eating greg doucette’s anabolic french toast” it would be absolutely crazy
Both are impossible

Lucky bugga
This workout was very early on when Bruce Lee was first introduced to body building by a friend. By the time he made Enter the Dragon he was mostly doing circuit training. Really enjoyed this one. That intro was next level
Did u obtain this info frm da book?
That's true, I think his best shape was in the big boss, in Enter the Dragon was such a great ripped physique, but quite unhealthy and underweight due to over stress and drugs abuse I personally think it was "one" of the reasons of his early passing.
Am I the only one who gets so excited and waits for Will’s videos? Cause his videos are the highlight of my day! Like I just get so hyped at 11 pm here lol!!💛
Trust me your not the only one😁

Hmmmmm
This is my favorite “eating like *blank* for a day” video you’ve done so far. Firstly, because Bruce Lee was a very huge and influential role model for me growing up. Especially, to my older brother who essentially raised us. Many of his teachings and beliefs were taught or instilled in us. I appreciate you bringing such a mountain of a man to light and giving a small insight into his routine. People of such caliber have always been scarce; especially in today’s day in age. There’s a lot to learn from individuals, like him. Secondly, (as always) your video made me chuckle and laugh, several times out loud. I was genuinely interested from the start. Learned some information I didn’t know. And was entertained the whole time. You raise the bar with every video you do, Will. Keep up the good work, I’m very happy to have found your channel and to view your content.
Of all the workouts and diets, I feel this one is the most practical and well rounded.
love the vids, Will! the way you quickly deliver the innuendos absolutely kills me! keep it up
His breakfast is definitely a Hong Kong breakfast. If you ever get congee again, try pork or fish with a fried breadstick on the side. Liver and salted fish is def not for a western palate. Also his like for powdered milk is giving me flashbacks to my grandma who would reconstitute powdered milk and then freeze it.
I mean, how dissimilar is the salted fish from bacalão? I've seen salt cod and potato balls on menus in Maryland, and people generally seem to enjoy it. I think the liver is the biggest issue, TBH, but that's still better than pidan.
@@erinb4237 Pidan is the thing I love the most in congee. I’m one of those people who love pidan even by itself, but I understand it’s not for everyone
@@Memequeen89 pidan is the only food other than mayo that has actually made me sick in public. I'm normally not picky whatsoever, but that is my Waterloo. I'll do shirasu, chicken feet, etc no problem. Organ meat isn't my favorite, but I can normally eat enough to be polite. Pidan is death lmao
His parents were Hong Kong natives

“Do oysters lactate?” I would like to know what goes on in this mans head😂
That intro was pure genius
On the topic of tender meats - I read/watched somewhere that Chinese restaurants (maybe not all of them, don't know how true it is) usually work with lower quality meat cuts to keep the prices down. Those are usually more chewy and so they soak the meats in water with baking soda mixed in for about 20-30min to an hour and the result is incredibly tender meat. Tried it, have been preparing meat that way ever since.
I like ur spirit!!! U have been an inspiration
At this point, I look forward to Thursday and Sunday for Will's videos 💞💞

I just have to say, I thought this video was amazing! One of my favorites so far. A lot of it was relatable (especially the nunchuck training lol). As a martial artist myself, Bruce Lee is one of my biggest role models. I even once did a biography on him for a school project. Sadly, I did not get to learn about his diet and exercise routine, so seeing this was amazing. Seeing the way your role models trained makes you feel like you finally got the whole story. I knew he had a very strict diet & workouts, but I was disappointed that I never got more details. Now that I’ve seen it, it’s no question as to why he was one of the best. And the time he was alive, there was more limited knowledge on nutrition, so seeing how much thought he put into everything was brilliant. It was probably one of his natural habits as a philosopher. I’ll also be trying a few of these exercise routines! They make a lot of sense. Again, thank you for this awesome video 👏👏👏

Liver is high in protein and one of the most underrated protein sources, it actually tastes great!
very smart to eat liver with lots of heme iron.
High heme intake is associated with increased risk of several cancers, including colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer and lung cancer. Likewise, the evidence for increased risks of type-2 diabetes and coronary heart disease associated with high heme intake is compelling
I can eat it. But it's not great.
