this is the Real Pt1 and Pt2. so many other versions are labeled this but they go straight into the verse vocals without the 2min groove intro with the ever so funky "uh!" and "ha!" vocals. they become part of the drumbeat and hypnotize you with how steady they are. you gotta have that intro if u want it to be funky.

My SR year at the Univ of Pgh, I rented an apt with a classmate only to discover the day we moved in the ahole B4 us had left his dog there without food & water for 3 days. After we cleaned up all the dog crap and had the carpets cleaned, it took him another week to come get his dog. He'd been a DJ at a radio station and had milk crates in his storage unit full of promotional albums that he'd nicked from the station. He never came back to get them. Forever Gold was one of my first picks from the lot and listen to it all the time. For an old white boy from western PA, the Isley's are still the epitome of great lyrics, awesome funk and virtuoso musicianship.
