Why isn't Luther Vandross in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? Not that he needs that honor to validate his talent, but with his contributions to music and his status as an R&B icon (I place him among the Motown and Stax greats) he more than deserves it. Plus, calling it as it is, he was the last great TRUE R&B singer to come along.
Luther is my number ONE all time favorite pure male singer! But I don't think Luther is Rock & Roll if that is what the distinction you mentioned refers to. He was a mostly a crooner / R&B / Soul.

Luther added Searching & The Glow of Love on his 1989 compilation album entitled “The Best of Luther Vandross: The Best of Love.” Tracks 1&2 are 1: Searching & 2: The Glow of Love, both by Change. Look for it on Amazon or eBay. You won’t find it on iTunes. Luther took ownership. Rightfully so.
