But virtually none for their offspring. Apparently, it also wasn’t very hard to stiff Cynthia Lennon and deny his own son any comforts he could certainly afford for himself. The fact that they had to live like paupers overseas while John was making millions is unforgivable.
If this documentary is any indication, the band’s breakup could’ve been prevented by permanently adding Billy Preston and a 5 year old to the recording sessions.

As for Yoko, it was John’s increasing disillusionment with music that lacked a social message (which certainly didn’t help his relationship with Paul) and the fact that the band dismissed the idea of Yoko joining out of hand (not only was it a no, it was a hard and resounding no) that eventually resulted in John telling the band that he intended to leave the group after Let It Be’s release the following year. But let’s be honest with ourselves, they were going to break up anyway, regardless of Yoko warbling into a microphone or not.

It's entertaining to see them jamming but at play at the same time and it brings us viewers into the studio. It also makes you feel like John is still much alive today.
I noticed in the film how John embraced Heather being in the studio and even has fun with her whilst McCartney and possibly the rest of the band somewhat ignore Yoko.
Heather is a child and not John's girlfriend and doesn't come into every White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road recording sessions past the point where the others in the band are completely fed up and wanting to kick her.
I think if John had only brought Yoko around to a few sessions, and the relationship hadn't been co dependent to the point of "Yoko (was) speaking for John" (Linda's words after the meeting with George earlier on in the doc), the band would've likely been nicer to her too. I'd also like to add that like the comment above me said a big part of them playing around with Heather is her being a child; Linda, Pattie, and Maureen, when they come along, are largely ignored too.

It happens a lot when bands are together like this and are multi instrumentalists. Somebody has an idea on another instrument and its easier to just show rather than tell, or one of the band members is out for some reason. Been in loads of bands like that. For example john is playing bass here
The last album I played on, I mostly played bass, but I also played around with the other instruments in the studio. Being creative can be fun and productive.
