Hey norbart76, thanks for sharing Christina. I've been brought up with Callas but Cristina makes me laugh and enjoy life much more. I've seen her Norma in Amsterdam. She was hudge and tender both. I remeber how she shared her emotions to sacrifice her own child. It was so horrible and real. In that performance I saw her great gift not to share only a beautifull voice but also a beautifull human being.
So you’re not listening, you’re watching? The most important acting in opera is the singing and the fraseggio. It’s bringing life to the libretto and score. It’s not broadway.
Jascha Heifetz once told a student of his, "If you put all that energy you keep wasting on your grimaces and gestures into your music, you'll play much better...." What do expect her to do? To dance? She acts as much as she needs for such an aria, and her singing is so divine that anything else would be too much, distracting us from the real thing, the music. She acts in subtle ways, with expressions and intonations, you can hear her feelings in her voice. And rightly so. She is simply marvellous!!!

That Don Giovanni excerpt was priceless. I'm sure totally unplanned, yet hysterical! She had the nerves of steel!
Of course it was planned!!! And well-rehearsed too!!! But you're right, it's hysterically funny........:=)

Fantastica!
Omg!!! ❤️💘💞
Genial!
She was a legitimate coloratura with legitimate high notes (unlike some certain other coloratura soprano, both in her time and our time...)
And most importantly...she has proper chest voice.
Netrebko.
BRAVAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Nabucco ? candela!!!!
Un flauto
ok - so she was no actress - but the voice is something else isn't it?
Speak for yourself!!!!!!!!!
Some "legato coloratura" by Deutekom (rare) at 17:46
She had the wonderful ability to go from "standard legato coloratura" to her own method. For me, I LOVE it!
@@magicmonkichi She was the only one, because her voice was so flexible!
She has a great voice, but personally I don't like it! I'm exhausted when I listen to her!. She sings but does not act.
So you’re not listening, you’re watching?

Voice comes first.
