- Cristina Deutekom (Turandot) sings "In questa reggia" from Turandot (Puccini)
Het Brabants Orkest, cond. André Vandernoot
1986, live (pirate recording), Tilburg Видеоклипы
Wow. Stunning, incredible level! The lows are as powerful as the tops, and the forte of the orchestra has no chance. If anyone's interested, check Cristina's Nabucco... What an amazing, genius singer!
gosh...the thrust and cutting power her voice had. just incredible.
She was IT. My Lord. Not once did she falter. The timbre. The ringing sound. The intensity. The musicality. Unbelievable. The power. NEVER STRAINED.
I was bewildered at the title of the video...but ended up very impressed and astonished. I had no idea she could do this...and beautifully! Brava!
Non conoscevo questa soprano... Bellissima voce... Grande estensione.. Piena e rotonda nei centri... Svettanti e tagliente negli acuti... Voce introvabile oggi.. Bravissima
e lei anche soprano koloratura!
Fenomenale
Dizione, ritmo, voce e interpretazione.
Senza sbavature e incertezze.
Altro che la Sutherland...
Unbelievable. What must one suffer in the opera houses today with Turandot, Elektra or Isolde. And then Deutekom sings them all to the wall. Where have they gone, these outstanding voices?
When opera marketing started. She is so unknown because of it.
Insane singing at that age.
В каком возрасте?! Нормальный возраст для певицы с прекрасной техникой.
Best recording of In questa reggia ever. And it’s only on RUclips. You can hear every note, including the low notes. Too bad you can’t buy a studio or professionally recorded live performance of Deutekom singing this…
Nobody ....I honestly have never heard anyone in my 30 years singing professionally, who has such a FABULOUS VOICE - fabulous top C# ..... who can equal this INCREDIBLE recording ???
There is no C# in Turandot, but C natural.
@@mubaraksenju7521 I've heard the Turandot of Giovanna Casolla in Marseille opera. She was great and during a few years, the only possible Turandot of her generation; it's why she's certainly sung too many times this terrible role which damages the voices. It certainly shortened her career. The tenor was the incredible Vladimir Galouzine. A huge voice equal on the two octaves and an impressive presence.
@@brunopicaude3092 that is very sad. I didn't know that it shortened her career. I've always admired her since i first listen to her. On other note, you are one of the luckiest ever to listen to her live!!! I'd probably trade my one eye for that experience!!!
@@mubaraksenju7521 This performance was also later in her career, and after a heart surgery! She still reigns as the Queen for me ^_^.
@@brunopicaude3092 Shortened her career? She was still singing Turandot in her 70s. She made her debut in 1977.
She is sublime here.
Everything in this voice is clear, well aged and matured like an exquisite Port wine. True Dramatic coloratura. I wonder if Maria Jeritza de Creator of this role sounded similar.. absolutely wonderful.
I agree.... gorgeous, clear tone, and easy pitch-dominant production, with thrilling high notes.
BTW, Jeritza didn't CREATE Turandot... that was Rosa Raisa. But Jeritza did sing the North American premiere of the opera, at the old Met in 1926.
Ein Dokument absolut beeindruckender Gesangskunst, Norma, Lucia, Elvira, Turandot, Königin der Nacht, vielseitiger ging es kaum, diese Sängerin war ein Ereignis. Kaum wiederholbar.
Brava, Ms. D! She’s only 55 here. She’s almost still in her prime! What a strong voice she had. She needed one to sing with this AWFUL conductor. Has no idea how to keep the music moving forward. I heard her “live” in Lucia, Lady Macbeth, and Vespri. Her voice was HUGE in the Newark, New Jersey barn of a theater AND the Met. What a steady, pitch-centered, shimmering tone she had. And no wobble in this voice…ever.
Maestro abominável.
@@PauloGomes-uh7pd Abominable Conductor, sounds like a death metal band name :D
That's what I noticed too. It's ringing throughout and so damn splat in the center of the pitch. I daresay I haven't heard a Turandot with this steady pitch EVER.
this conductor ... uff
Phenomenal singing, the perfect voice for Turandot.
Excelente...
Cantores assim estão fazendo falta no cenário artístico atual....
Adore her ,perfect Christina Deutekom
Yesss! Unexpected, but very credible! Wow! Bravissima!
So there was a good Turandot as recently as the 80s!
Maravillosa ❤
Maravillosa, lástima que no hay grabación de la opers con ella. Actualmente hacen falta cantantes como ella.
THAT is the voice - and the timbre - who Puccini has imagined when he compose the role of Princess Turandot. A light voice with a powerful chest register (big low notes) and a big volume. BRAVA! Now I see a young, but very powerfully, princess... With Nilsson, Dimitrova, Turner, Callas, etc, I see a strong old lady, who is a princess too. Hehehehehehehe'
Yrs, I guess so...
This kamikaze aria you can only survive with a lot of experience , there are so many young voices who sing these things and are ruined after
Those great low notes are as powerful as the high ones.No one can sing like this nowadays.
Maravillosa!!! La mejor en verdad!!! Bravisima!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Vollkommen in Schockstarre vor Begeisterung versetzt, fast gelähmt, von diesen letzten Liveauftritten, entdeckte ich die letzte CD aus 1997.. meine absolute Empfehlung! ...
Mamma mia!!
My heart stopped
Perfect!!!!!
timbre of Bjoerling, marvelous.
Genialllllll! Excelente legato...gran fraseo y sin micrófono! Qué maravilla!!!! Qué delicia de interpretación!!! Gracias ❤❤❤❤
Wow!! That's all I can say.
❤❤❤❤
This is the only time this aria has made me cry. And it's from the sheer perfection of it.
Impressionante! Absolutamente impressionante!
ФАНТАСТИКА!!!!
Un.véritable choc...
Brava....
bravo

She sings like we breath. So easily!!!!!!
watch her in Die Höle Rache incroyable
@3:37 is so angelic
Vozarrón.
what year did this concert take place? i thought she was a coloratura. guess not -- a total freak voice (in the most positive sense). i saw her once in vespri at the met in 1975. she was fabulous!
She sang arias written for a coloratura soprano, lyric soprano, dramatic soprano and at concerts she also sang some arias written for mezzos.
She went from Queen of the night to Nabucco, Abigaille, then Lucia and I Puritani, back to dramatic Norma or Macbeth... She was like a german Callas
@@Antonio-qm3bi she wasn't german
Didn’t she sing the coloratura rep?
She was able to sing almost all the repertoire written for the soprano voice. She even sang some arias written for mezzos in her concerts.
