I randomly decided to go tonight literally an hour before the game started . Best game of my life
Usually how it goes man lol
Dang you’re lucky to witness one of the most insane feats you can do in baseball
First real Mets no hitter.
No hits were taken away.
I was at a Sky Sox game in Colorado when visiting family and some pitcher threw a Perfect Game. I’m assuming it’s much more common to see that in lower levels when elite pitchers face off vs batters who average to be less than professional level
Around the 6th and 7th inning I was thinking about all the people who just kind of randomly decided to go to the game tonight... So happy for you this is so cool
Great pitching but it makes it so much sweeter that there were a lot of great defensive plays from the whole team.
Big facts.
@thunderWolf yeah there's always one incredible play that saves the no hitter
Incredible pitching. These 5 men should be proud of what they displayed on the mound.
And defense played great.
They gone get it tonight!!!!!!
Bunch of phony wannabe no hitters
Plus the fielding. Defense
@@benjismith593 Is this "Bellinger" fellow any good👍
yep to have missed Santana, this was really special, to see it live the whole team felt part of this, and the bonding just keeps going for this group!
@Mark Stewger just going to say the same thing this was a true no hitter. All we need now is a true no hitter with one guy
The no-Hitter ended Santana’s career and Baxters when he ran into the wall he had chronic neck and back pain like Wright
Could be a dream season for the NYM. In my opinion their fans deserve to see their team win a World Series. 👍.
Don’t try that Michael Kay Yankee Boy reverse juju over here buddy ✋🏼
@@WesleyParksTTV Lol as a Yanks fan i gotta agree with PAC. Your fans deserve it, id like to see Mets go deep. Pulling for the orange and blue, unless they facing the bombers of course.
Aww mets fans having fun with our used goods? Dodgers are going to own the NL again this year.
@@julianmorales-silva160 Unless they run into the Braves again lol
@@BH-xp8ic we had to kneecap the Braves by taking freeman just to be sure that didn’t happen
Mets look special this season. Eddie looks a lot like the guy I saw in 2018, good to see.
It's been one year since this incredible game happened. That was still the best game of my life.
As a Phillies fan, I have to give props to this Mets pitching. They no hit one of the strongest line ups and baseball
It was scary to watch, I thought for sure the batters faced in the 9th would end the no hitter considering their skill. Good game today
Philly bats were coming in red hot off that Rockies series too
Strongest? I can name 5 teams stronger
@@charlesyaryan6619 he said "one of the strongest"
And he's correct
@@charlesyaryan6619 Who?
Well done to that pitching staff. Great performances from all their guys.
And that will definitely knock the wind out of the Phillies’ sails.
The first no hitter I have ever seen as a Mets fan. I am grateful to have watched this game
If you haven't already I recommend watching clips from the one in 2012, it's an exciting thing to see
This is my second Johan Santana was the first for me. I haven't been to Mets game since 05 I haven't even been to the Citi Field yet.
@@superbeavers7645 u
@@apap1586 it's really nice at citi field.
@@stevebully First time I went to see the Mets was in 86. Grandfather was a Brooklyn dodgers fan so you know how that goes.
Crazy how the first out of the game might have been the closest they were to getting a hit
Eh Nimmos play in center was closer
@@nathangursky4628 true
The final out in the third was the closest
I understand what you mean. If you read “no hitter” and see the first play, it looks very nervous
Idk, 1:09 I think that flare over the traditional 2B position would've been a hit of the Mets didn't have someone playing shallow RF in the shift.
This was a rare game . The only pitcher in Mets history with a no hitter was johan Santana . Amazing go Mets
It's amazing that so many pitchers could be on point to combine for a no-no.
And this is the first legit one. Santanas was not hit due to a bad call by the umpire but that was exciting that no hitter too. I remember that one like it was yesterday
Wow really
Gonna be a special season this year! LFGM!!!
As a Yankees fan I tip my cap. So far, so good for the NY baseball teams. This Mets team looks like fun
A WS Subway Series would be amazing to see again
Pretty impressive it’s against the Phillies they can hit
Yeah man, something like 8 or 9 full counts? Respect to that lineup & all the more impressive! #LFGM
Yeah I’d say Phillies has some of the best hitting lineups in the game
Can’t believe I was there watching it unfold surreal moment
There’s nothing like it when the Mets are winning. Mets fans get raucous & go nuts. I wasn’t there but you know Citi Field was thumping tonight.
It’s crazy that this is only the second in Mets team history as throughout their history, their hallmark has mainly been pitching. The Mets have had a history of great pitchers. Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman, Nolan Ryan (tragically traded away too soon), Dwight Gooden (ended up pitching one with the Yankees😠), Bob Ojeda, Ron Darling, Sid Fernandez, David Cone, Frank Viola, Al Leiter, RA Dickey, Pedro Martinez, Johan Santana, Jacob deGrom, Matt Harvey, Noah Syndergaard, Zack Wheeler, et al
Johan Santana pitched 1st Mets no hitter & basically blew out his arm to do so. Now we have Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt, burgeoning ace Tylor Megill, & others. Ex-Mets GM letting Zack Wheeler go was a travesty. Sadly, Noah felt ignored while the Mets’ front office was in transition. He should have been resigned. I hope Thor can be brought back to Mets. He shouldn’t be in any other uniform but a Mets uniform.
What a game though. A multi pitcher no-hitter isn’t as sexy as a single pitching tossing it but I’d argue the its more stressful & pressure laden. Each new pitcher must come in with or without their best stuff & each faces more & more pressure not to blow it. Megill wasn’t even in our Top 10 prospects list last year but was forced into action due to injuries. He has good stuff but was raw yet showed tremendous poise. He basically learned & improved in the majors. He’s improved steadily & has a real chance at being a top pitcher. I hope he continues the tradition of strong Mets starting pitchers. Let’s Go Mets!
Megill will be a Cy young contender by 2024, mark my words
The funny thing is, Edwin Diaz was the only one who knew what was the line, the others all said they found out on the broadcast.
Santana the best!!!
@@CybeastID That’s crazy!
@@djCOLLY01 I loved Johan. He had heart & grit too. I think that’s why this Mets rotation & team are special. They are bulldogs. Guys like deGrom, Scherzer & Bassitt are gritty & tough. The are intense competitors who are full of heart. This rubs off on teammates. Let’s Go Mets!
Amazing! Fans had a treat
I told my friend at lunch that we will get a no hitter this year and we did, what are the odds
Pretty good actually , MLB has been averaging 4 to 5 No hitters a year and Mets have one of the better pitching staffs in the league
@Victor Alvarez the philles? The braves? The Yankees? Lol I don’t know what team you talking about
@Victor Alvarez haters be like
you should make more prophecies then! Take one for the team hahahaha
@@sccdddf1595 All teams that have won a world series in the last 15 years lol
I honestly feel a multiple pitcher no hitter is more impressive. To have 5 pitchers feeling it like that on the same night is amazing
Wow I can't believe this is my team playing this good.. hopefully this is the start of a special season they haven't won the big trophy since I was 9. 45 is knocking on the door this year. My last game was in 05 at Shea stadium.
I don't understand why people can't be happy and just appreciate this for what it is. For having been around since the 60s this is the 2nd no hitter for the mets as a franchise. Yes it's a combined no hitter but at the end of the day there's still a zero under the h and Santana gave up his career for that no hitter. What would have happened if he gave up a hit right at the end way past the point of no return? I mean whether we like to admit it or not the game has changed and since everybody throws 100 now pitchers can't go as deep as they used to. That doesn't make this any less of an achievement, in fact I'd argue it makes it more of one because 5 separate pitchers have to come in there and not give up a single pitch. One wrong pitch from any of them and it was all gone. I was popping off after this happened as a Mets fan this means so much to me I don't understand why people can't just let us have this moment at the very least if you don't want to join in the celebration yourself.
It's actually MORE impressive as every pitcher had to be on point. That's so rare for that many relievers to give up no hits in one game. One guy on point for 9 innings is amazing, but this is astounding.
@@rumblehat4357 exactly. Especially for our bullpen. I never trusted our bullpen to go 4 hitless innings. But they came through when we needed it.
I'm sure it's made all the sweeter for Mets fans because it was a home game, too. What an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime game. 💙❤
Edit: No clue why RUclips ate part of my sentence. 🤦♀️
First real Mets no hitter.
No hits taken away like johan santana no hitter, Carlos Beltran had a hit taken away.
@@josecarranza7555 cringe
@@josecarranza7555 every no hitter has a play thats kinda controversial.
@@mbdg6810 That’s not true.
Do you even follow baseball lol
And that's why Baseball is the greatest sport! These moments are memorable!
This season, the Mets are different from before 👏🏻👏🏻
So far. They tend to fade, but they do seem more positive right now.
Just wait lmao
Lol the Mets are the Mets since 1988.
@@josecarranza7555 True, but can’t the same be said about the Cowboys? lol

best team in the major leagues right now
I love the New York Mets i`m fan 😍 ❤
JUST AMAZING THAT WAS AWSOME!!!
It really was a team effort. Lets go Mets well deserved.
It feels like yesterday Ra dickie one hitter on Phillies 12 years ago man times fly bye beacuse this reminds me of that game.
Modern Day No Hitter. Next it will be a collective 5 pitcher complete game.
Edwin Diaz has one of the filthiest sliders I've ever seen. Amazing strikeout pitch.
So happy! Congrats to the Mets!
What a gem. Congrats on this wow
It's scary how much Megill reminds me of a 25 year old Degrom. Congrats to Tylor and the Mets relievers. LGM!!!!
Wow! With all the great pitchers the Mets have had, it's hard to believe this was only the 2nd. Shout out to the Mets defense, as well. Great baseball!
Doesnt always take greatness, sometimes it takes just a fair bit of luck. Philip Humber was below average in the MLB, practically replacement level, across his career yet he has a perfect game to his name.
Great effort from those pitchers...
And of course the best closer in the game with the cherry on top.
2015 ...Edwin jackson from the dbacks....149 pitches in his no-hitter....hahaha
This Mets team is different bro
Better jerseys too. Black ones are freshhhhh
The First Combined No-Hitter In New York Mets History This 2022 And The First Since Johan Santana And His No-Hitter 10 Years Ago In 2012
You’re not supposed to capitalize the first letter of each word.
It’s annoying and it makes you look uneducated.
And the Johan Santana no hitter should not count since the umpire took a hit away from Carlos Beltran in the sixth inning.
What. A. Game.
Happy Birthday, Gary Cohen!
Glad to have been there. Represent.
Great teamwork
Insane
I just woke up and seen this is amazing this team has been doing great so far Congrats to the entire team .
Wow! This was a Team that really played for each other.
The perfect birthday gift to Gary Cohen
Nice! Happy for em
Now that's TEAMWORK
Big credit to the fielders here! Absolute hustle!
Saudades desse dia
What a game!!!! Congratulations, guys! But let's not forget that Buck made ALL THE RIGHT MOVES here!!! 😃🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
All the comments on RUclips are so much more wholesome and congratulatory than everything on social media saying how the Mets will fall apart
That's awesome 👌 👏
damn Nimmo, some great catches, defense all around
NY METS COMBINED NO HITTER
NY METS COMBINED NO HITTER
This is our year 👏👏👏👏
a No-hitter between multiple pitchers isn't nearly as impressive as one man doing it himself. But these days, it's damn near impossible to get a single pitcher to go past 5 innings anymore, let alone 7.
Funny, I think the exact opposite here. More impressive the more pieces you have to add to it.
Yes, less combined no-hitters on record!
@@torozco516 Rarity does not make something more impressive.
God that‘s satisfying to watch!
YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!
not gonna lie, even knowing mets got the no-no, i was bracing myself for a drive into deep left field by castellanos.
It's the black uniforms
Amazing! Surprises me that this is only the second no hitter in Mets history, considering the great pitchers they've had.
@You, Me, and Humanity Yep. Cone pitched a no-hitter for the Yanks in 1999.
@You, Me, and Humanity Tom Seaver pitched a no-hitter with the Reds. Cone, as you mentioned, and his was a perfect game!
And, of course Nolan Ryan -- king of no-hitters.
I'm predicting the Mets are going to the world series this year. The Mets seem very special this year. 1 place in the National league and the no hitter it's crazy.
I’ve got the Mets and the Blue Jays in the WS!
Very impressed
Crazy
Baseballs a long season but this Mets team feels different this year. It really could be their year. Also it’s a bonus that they did this in the black jerseys
3:24 - 3:30 is THE definition of "oddly satisfying": the combination of the commentator, the play, and the camera angles makes my brain happy. LFGM!
@Bread And Circuses uuuugggghhhhh
Best of times !!!
This could be a special year for my Mets!!!!!
I think if all pitchers get lined up like they did on this game y’all can do another no hitter game
I was going to go to the game but I got sick so I sold the tickets
Darryl Strawberry was in the stands wearing a STRAWBERRY jersey. Lucky charm!
Mets versus Yankees 2000 World series rematch?
Now that's impressive, this Mets club is a different breed this season
It’s always something at Citi Field - Johan’s no hitter, Heston’s no hitter, game ending unassisted triple play, this combined no hitter....
All hail the black jersey! Happy Birthday Gary Cohen!
It’s gonna be fun when the Mets play the Yankees
How bout them apples???
Were gonna do another no hitter vs noah and the angels. It doesnt matter how many pitchers it takes.
This is really the first true no hitter
Happy birthday, Gary Cohen!
How about those Mets !!!
Congratulations NYM ! That was well…Amazing !From a NYY fan .
How about that infield play by the Mets ...I'm a Yankees fan but absolutely tip my hat off to the Mets and congratulations
I was waiting for Diaz to do the point
damn congrats mets
Attaway Mets !!
IIT'S ABOUT THE METS BABY! LGM
it's been a long time coming. Still remember Johan's.
Can’t wait to hear @JomboyMedia breakdown
Those pitches in the 9th were absolutely disgusting.
I wanna know why they pulled Megill from da No-Hitter when he was doing well I know some teams like to have it as a full team pitching No hitter but if the SP is doing great don't pull em unless he shows signs of hurting or something else
Less combined no hitters than one pitcher doing it. Impressive, I think so. LETS GO METS!!
And in the Black Jerseys no less!
Absolutely filthy pitching from the starter and all of the Met relievers. Who cut Drew's hair?
PERFECT
From Johan Santana, congratulations mets
I like a game with a lot of hitting and a lot of action. Paying to watch everyone get out is boring.
