What did you think to Helldivers 2? Have you purchased yet? Let me know!
I don't have time to think about Helldivers 2; there's too much Democracy to spread!
Would have been nice to have the price explained for your European and Great British subscribers apart from just in U.S dollars.
Best co-op game I've ever played
I bought the game, downloaded 100 gigabytes, launched the game, and the servers were down so I could not play the game.
Always online/10
This game was an instant buy, I've been loving it despite the baby shoe issues.
Helldivers feels how i imagined starship troopers wouldve played before i actually played it.
I've played both and I absolutely prefer Helldivers 2. It's what that game should have been.
i agree wholeheartidly@@MrAtomicDuck
Having a ton of fun. Yeah the matchmaking is perfect. But I have no problem finding a game.
@@MrAtomicDuckhollyyy shhiittt
starship troopers isn't even near done yet you cant compare 2 games when one is done and the other is in early access it still has over a year before starship trooper is ready for a 1.0 launch. I'm supporting it but right now Helldivers is the game to go for hopefully later in the future starship troopers will also be another game like this to go for.
"The only good bug is a bug that has been swiftly patched by the development team" - Starship troopers.
💪 That sounds right to me.
My only complaint about HD2 is the progression system. I much preferred the first games progression where my group could pick which strategem we wanted to unlock by going to the planet with said reward for completing it. I also miss the weapon customization from the first game but still im having a blast with HD2 and think its a great sequel that the devs get to build off of...also the ragdolling in this game adds so much replayability.
That's a fair point about the progression system! Very different to the first one.
The maps being slowly rotated is akin to a dealer who limits what you can buy so you don't OD
😂😂😂
As a Helldivers 1 veteran, this is everything I could have wanted out of a sequel. Can't wait for the Battlepass that adds the Scythe and the APC (assuming they're planning on adding more Helldivers 1 stuff).
That's awesome to hear man.
Oh man can u imagine the chaos of apc in 2 xD
I'm here for it.
Entire team inside and just stuck on a rock lol
The Las-5 Scythe is in the game unless there is another?
Duck: You can launch a local ICBM
Me: SOLD!
😂 Get ready to do your part, soldier.
@@MrAtomicDuck HOW ABOUT SOME LIBER-TEA!
hopefully no *priority super* citizens were harmed
As a proud citizen of Super Earth your comment made me shed 100% patriotic tears .
High energy Liber-tea
You are so much better explaining this then other channels! It's hard to find good reviews these days but you nailed this!
The only thing I'm curious now is how the progression for endgame or if is there any at all?
Wow, thanks! That's a huge compliment. I love doing reviews and it's something I'd love to do more often. Endgame, in my opinion, is gonna be something that is "yet to be seen". They've already mentioned they've got DLC's planned, which is a positive start. I'm now 35 hours in and still have 3 difficulty levels I haven't been able to master yet. Plenty still to push for!
Great and fair review man. I'm glad you didn't experience the connectivity issues too much. It really does help to run with a dedicated crew. Glad to see you broaden that horizon regarding content!
Thanks for watching! I've enjoyed doing some reviews again :) Hard to branch out sometimes, but worth doing for games I'm really enjoying.
@@MrAtomicDuck yeah, diversity doesn't seem to be rewarded. Content creators get bogged down way too easily for views. You've got a good presenting voice though, so I hope to see the occasional review uploads. 😉
Helldivers 2 is great fun. The fact that it has friendly fire has caused so much screaming between me and my friends.
The friendly fire makes for some hilarious moments. Never had so much fun being shot by my friends 😂
@@MrAtomicDuck I have died more to friendly minefields than to bugs and bots
The minefields are savage. Don't get me started on the 380mm barrage...
As a Helldiver player, I never thought I needed a Helldiver 2, but when I heard about it, I was so hyped.
Now after release I am more or less capped with everything I want in the game, been playing it non stop, even more nonstop then I played Baldurs Gate 3
It is a very fun game, not much so if you are solo, it's doable but rough, if you have friends, that is where the game shines! A full group of friends is how this game truly becomes a blast, random players are okay, but it's not as good as a full group who combines their loadouts, communicates and coordinates.
As the game has a classic "battlepass" some of my friends was frowning to begin with, well, turns out you can earn the credits in game as well, while it's only a small amount, for me and my friends, we have almost earned enough already to buy the premium, and it went much faster then we thought.
All in all, I would highly recommend you give it a try, get your buddies, you have a 2 hour refund policy on steam, if its not fun within the first 2 hours, refund and move on
I think I did have an instance where a game master was watching... I was playing a duo on hard difficulty and mid match the other guy left, so I was in charge of completing it. About half way through it I lost all my revives and was finishing up the last egg cluster. Then I randomly was given a new revive saying "management given more funding"... On my way to Evac I died and was 10 seconds away from Evac and the se thing happened. The same message and a revive added to be used. It was really cool to see I didn't loose anything
Once you run out of revives, you get another one every two minutes or so until the destroyer leaves
I think they should add a solo mode where a ai bot would help the player a good size too and good weaponry.
I'm doing my part!

The explosion sound design in this game is awesome. I would say it is a huge part of the game to have good quality speakers or earphones/ earpiece to get the full experience.
Hell yeah. Get you some good headphones for the best experience, for sure!
Very solid review. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
great review bro , keep it up !!!
Thanks, will do!
The game is so great with a controller (I use a Switch Con) because the devs really put a lot of detail on what makes your con vibrate. From shooting your firearm to the stomping of giant bugs to the nuke that you set off.
Nice! I haven't used controller in a while, but that sounds pretty cool.
Why does a coop game need a kernel level anti-cheat?
Random matchmaking, ppl will hack just to make the game unfun for others
@cavemanbonk8320 ok but still why kernel level?
Yerppp. For this alone I will never play this game. Destiny has the same crap. Do anti cheat on the server side please and thank you
People that complain about kernal level anti cheat are cheater themselves. No reason to be scared of something that shouldn't be affecting you.
@@mikeyplayz8438 that's such a stupid take. It's like saying if you have nothing to hide you should be fine with the government putting cameras in your home
Talking about the supercredits: you don't need to buy them with real money. I have 36 hours of gameplay rn, with about 25h of mission time, and I have already unlocked the premium pass without having to spend a single extra cent than the base game price. You can get supercredits at every mission if you look for them, they show up usually behind locked doors that need two players to activate (I don't know if there is a workaround for solo players though). They come in bundles of 10 each, and we can often get 30~50 in a single mission at higher difficulties. You also don't rely only on those found credits. Every page of the free/regular battle pass has 100 or 50 supercredits that can be acquired with medals (the first 5 pages have 100sc each, and the last 5 pages have 50sc each), I was at page 7 when I got the 1000sc that you need to buy the premium pass. After it's unlocked, you use regular medals (the reward for missions, which increase with the difficulty level of the mission) to unlock the rewards in the pass.
They've nailed the model when it comes to premium currency. Pay to skip, not to win.
@@MrAtomicDuck Yeah, it's fairly decent. I was concerned at first when I saw the premium battle pass, but after learning you can get SC on missions, it became a non-issue. Buying SC with money is something you can engage with only if you want to further support the game.
Liked the review!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
This is a great summary!
Thanks! Have you been playing it? :)
I played it a little, for me I would only love more maps so we get the missing enemies from the first game.
Maybe even new ones... Haha
I usually put it in the background from RUclipsrs like you while I'm working.
It is just a great vibes co-op game to play with friends.
Not a game for me but your review was extremely helpful in letting me figure that out. Thanks!
Glad I could help! 😄
It's so nice to also have the automatons to fight, bug hoards are still fun but would have gotten old. Getting to fight terminators, mechs and tanks that actually shoot back adds a whole new angle to the PVE. Super excited for the upcoming mech update and other vehicles getting added down the line.
The bots are TOUGH too. Constant pressure.
YO what is this intro music? sounds sick!
I love this game. The music, the scenery, the sound and feedback of the guns and gunshots hitting is top tier.
Plays like a mix of:
-Gears of War
-Ghost Recon Breakpoint
-Lost Planet
-Max Payne/Stranglehold (diving and shooting is awesome haha)
I can't wait for the weekend to invest lots of hours in it!
Lost Planet was the GOAT.
The art style, the music, the mechanics... it feels like you're in an 80's action show. Like, you ARE the A-Team, and it's freakin hilarious and glorious all at once. :D
Why is No one using the classic starship troopers, "would you like to know more?" At transitions. Huge missed opportunity
😂 Amazing idea.
I keep getting strong feelings of Deja Vu while playing. Like I've already played this game, done this mission or something. It's so strong too. Each day I play the feeling becomes stronger, to the point where I'm really questioning if I've played it before or something similar.
6:00 truely masterpiece
MAN I love Democracy 😎
It would have been nice if you tested matchmaking without a premade group and let us know how that is working.
I think Helldivers 2 is a really fun game! Its just that I haven't played for the past 2 days because I won't get any rewards from missions. I hope they fix it soon.
I haven't even been able to play a mission all the way through without it freezing my PC lol
I believe they've fixed this in a patch already! They're also planning an event with increased rewards to compensate :)
@@MrAtomicDuck Alright thanks!
I did not expect this game to bring such heat for only $40. Easily worth $70.
It really is AAA quality. Steep price for some, but it's so worth it.
@@MrAtomicDuck Yeah. Graphics, art, sound, music, gameplay, balance - all AAA. Sony was really firing on all cylinders with this release.
They did NOT hold back.
Is it any good for a solo player?
As someone who played alot of Helldivers 1, you guys who haven't played it just need to wait. There will definitely be more content for Helldivers 2. They already teased the mech. Many more stratagems and weapons to come. Also, they will almost definitely add the Illuminates in the future based on the map layout.
As someone from a totally different genre of gaming 2k/cod this game is refreshing. Can’t seem to put it down.
Awesome!
I had an encounter with a game admin giving us a railgun for everyone to use like arti
I’m very interested in this game but I don’t have any friends to play with would it still be worth getting or should I get Tekken 8
If I had friends to play together, I’d buy this in a heartbeat.
It's still pretty good fun with randoms to be fair! Just gotta be willing to do it.
I had a little over 150 hours in Helldivers 1. I’m really happy that my muscle memory still applies for the strategems. There’s nothing like getting a Reinforce off in half a second right before you die and the rest of your team is already dead. Helldive difficulty is the ultimate chaos and I love it.
It's absolutely badass, I love how the game came out of nowhere for me.. I had no idea about it until everyone started raving it's praises. This is one of those games I know I'll be putting the hours into and getting my money's worth of epic fun and glorious democracy.
A lot of people in the same position, I reckon! The first game was long before a lot of folks got into gaming, so many didn't know this was coming.
So basically you started playing this game just because others were praising it? Did you just start gaming?
@@whiteknight5100 Yeah never heard of Helldivers, don't usually play these games. Been playing games for 30 years 😁👍
@@-prototype1338 Interesting. I've got about 35 years myself. Curious as to how you let others talk you into a style of game you don't already like though, unless you're just now getting into online shooters. Me personally, I don't listen to a damn thing the masses say about what games to invest in.
Everyone is different.
There is an audio book series called Helldivers. The game is not based on the books, but the books are very good.
What a sick looking PC game!!!
I can't wait to play this on my PC 😊
Two notes of correction in an otherwise great video: firstly the Premium Warbond costs $9.99, not $20.00. You might have mixed up the price of 1000 Super Credits with the cost of the Super Citizen upgrade option. Secondly, the devs are not manually viewing specific games (I wish), the Gamemaster team is overseeing the progress of the Galactic War and player tactics/metrics and adding in modifier to spice things up a bit. For example, many players being unable to connect and having crashes means few people getting to use higher-cost Stratagems and such. So the Gamemaster(s) added a modifier that gave every single player access to the Railgun for a day or two, without taking up a Stratagem slot. That's the kind of involvement the Gamemasters will have.
Great review though, Duck.
Thank you for the correction! Very much appreciate you doing it in a constructive and friendly manner 😌
I was okay with the anti cheat program (I don’t cheat so it won’t impact me) until my computer flagged it as malware. Apparently, it is one of the most intrusive anti cheat programs out there. My laptop has all my important information on it and I just don’t trust that easily. It felt like I was being asked to keep my doors unlocked from there on out.
If I ever have the extra funds to buy an extra gaming set up (not in this economy) I might get this game. Which is a shame, this looked fun.
Please tell us fps and resolution otherwise "it runs well at medium" not only doesn't give us much info but actually sound contradictory to "it runs like a dream"
That said. Good review. Thank u ❤
I've convinced a few people it's worth the cost just by telling them about the absolute crazy shit that happens in these HellDiver games. First one too. Such funny little scenarios you get into.
They agreed they got their monies worth in the first night just by how much they laughed their asses off.
Seriously fun co-op.
It's just such chaos.
Is it worth? Better question, name a single game that has made its community joing and band together like helldivers did in the late years. I will wait
Absolutely love this game...just wish I could play it. Sadly there is a game launch black screen issue because of the anticheat software not playing nice with Steam Decks. No idea when they will get it fixed because there are bigger fish to fry first.
Starship trooper should be like this ...
Everyone taking the game master idea out of context, they were talking about the galactic war not individual games. Although it wouldn't surprise me if they had means to spectate games to gain inspiration for which effects to add both positive and negative. They already have been doing this like giving everyone railguns for a while etc. Pretty sure the community manager on discord cleared this up ages ago and clarified it wasn't on the individual game scale but on the galactic war scale.
Fair enough I suppose! The way the original announcement was worded, it made me think they were looking at it from a "GM" perspective. They likened it to DnD, so throwing an overarching item in here and there for the entire community didn't really seem similar to what they were likening it to.
It was one of those speeches where they promise possibilities but its not even in the game necessarily, but he also mentioned they wanted elements of that in their game not that an actual person interacts with the players on a squad basis. Because so many people were being confused they put out a statement about it later. @@MrAtomicDuck
I Was On The Fence On Getting This Game, Watched Some Live Streams And I Was Sold, Lots Of Fun Solo Or With A Group, Worth The $$$
For sure, lots of fun indeed.
imagine being a teenager experiencing this game and just farming 24/7 ahhh
Not sure whether to get on PC with a 3060 or PS5. Not sure what it would run a DJ look better on
Are people using m+k or controller on PC for this?
picked it up the day before yesterday and its been pretty good aside from joining randos/quickplay. The movement is...I think the word is "weighty". Clunky implies its not purposeful. The character is a guy wearing a lot of armor, they cant turn on a dime. Moving while firing a machine gun is possible, but you're not hitting anything with any accuracy. The voicelines also add to this. If you're tearing everything apart, the guy is confident. If you're getting shredded, his lines are PANICKED.
the game deffo looks like a lot of cheek in tongue fun
Good way to describe it. It's just pure chaos and great fun with friends.
Short answer: yes. Long answer: yessssssss!
This man's a Super Citizen if ever I've seen one. 💪
So- ALL content can be warned for free just by playing the game? Is there any content that can’t be earned?? If that’s true, that’s one of few times a live service game has been FAIR and this should be the standard moving forward!
Correct!
If I enjoyed Splatoon's Salmon Run mode (far more than the actual PvP part of Splatoon), will I enjoy this game?
The quickplay matchmaking is really killing the game for me. It takes around 30 tries before i can get into a match, and i often lose connection or crash.
YES
If you had to describe the game with the typical tags used for games, how would you describe it? 3rd person co-op shooter mission focused?
Does it have a story mode?
Third person co-op objective based shooter. No campaign/story.
@@MrAtomicDuck thanks!
You got it!
3:57 "Everyone's PC is diffrent" I Agree, but this answers the question if/when we will see robots and ai as/with personality.
It’s plays well I just don’t want to play solo as it’s to hard for me the matchmaking isn’t working so I refunded it will pick it up in a couple months on sale and hopefully they have it sorted out by then
Finally a review that respects how good the first game was rather than calling it just a twin stick shooter
The first game was sick!
one of the most fun games ive ever played
Fun factor is OFF THE CHARTS. Glad you've been doing your part for Democracy.
Helldivers 2 to me is Darktide but perfected. It's more badass, it's less filler, it's got more to the gameplay loop, theres more side stuff to do, the maps feel bigger. It does share that sameyness though with missions ending up on the same backdrop often.
i like this game a lot, until this moment with 8 hours of gameplay i had 2 bugs, one i just get stuck pressing a button, and another one the insect stretching itself, a little bit problem with the first connection in random lobbys, but with friends or entering my lobby, nothing goes wrong, the game is very good, and need a bit of optimization, i will like if i can put fsr3 inside, THAT will be very good...
I was hooked 20 min in to the game when i was promoted to the rank of "Space Cadet"! The game knows me too well.
I bought this game with no expectations or knowledge and apart from some teething issues with servers the game has been a heap of fun and for me, worth the money
You can feel the love and dedication developers put into this game. I've been spreading democracy the whole weekend. 😂😂😂 So far is the best of 2024
As a Helldives Veteran and Super Citizen. Yes, and any objections are Automatona Propaganda. Any bugs the game has Devs will squash any red eyed glitches will also be delt with by use of Anti material rifles. I am looking forward to sharing a cup of Libertea with you all.
😂 Love this.
Helbombs, Napalm, CLUSTER BOMBS!
I AM SOLD!!!
A man of culture and taste.
my pc is that old that its no longer within recommended specs (rocking a 1650) T-T
It great to see a different game get the popularity but personally for me the repetitiveness in helldivers 2 is just too the extreme for me to keep on playing
Id buy it if i can run it at a high settings with high enough fps... right now it would melt my PC.
GET SOME GET SOOOOOOOOOMEEEEE (Maniacal Laughing)
FOR SUPER EEEAAAAARTHHHH!!!
I loved the first game, but my friends did not. So we didn't play that much. They did however love the new 3:d person angle of the second game, which I did not :D I really hate when developers change the game so much. But the more I looked through videos the more I kinda liked it. Then I learned about the anti-cheat.... And this was the nail in the coffin for me, and my friends too. If they ever decide to change this (which I doubt) I will pick it up. Thanks for bringing that part up! You're the first review video (that I've seen) that even mentions this part of the game!
Totally get that. Kernel access anti-cheat isn't for everyone at the end of the day, so I thought it important to mention. I didn't wanna get into the specifics of what it is, etc, but I don't see how someone can make a review and not mention it. It's important!
Short answer is yes. It’s a lot of fun
Heck yeah it is.
They always make these cool games and then make me play as the humans.
I wanna be the bugs but they mostly only let me do that in RTS games, unless I go back to like Natural Selection 2 or something.
Oh well, the game looks cool. I'm still thinking about getting it.
Will the game have any events or a roadmap ?
Good question, events, yes. Roadmap, I'm not sure yet. Time will tell.
39$ is Steep?!? A modern Game in Canada is 80-100$ not including any in game buys like Battle pass's or DLCs.
its Basically 30-40 Bucks with Hours and Hours of Play value and its just the beta stage.
The only Good Gun is the SG-225 Breaker (God Tier) No other matters.
Note BEAM and Explosive Weapons suck Don't get.
Side note if you dont buy anything with the In game moooooneys and Save up you can buy the Battle Pass.
I bought it off the strength of the media hype. Im bored after 2 days. Doesn't touch the Division.
Also game kept crashing.
Only plus side, is it was only £35, so not a great loss.
Nvidia 960 rtx is able to run the game on low without much issue, compare that to Halo Infinite or Palworld which will absolutely bake it.
I upgraded to the N- 2060 and I can play it on Ultra ~! Very good.
The I7 is hitting about 47 degrees but it never used to really go up, and it's (i think) safe til 70-80.
This game is hella optimized and hella beautiful
I want to play this so bad, but I have literally no one to play with. Even with that I still might yell thug life and go in solo
Sooo you don’t need a mic to be good bc I’m not a big fan of using mics only with friends
For those about to get the game, I would hold off on getting it on steam for now. The online is currently in bad shape. Matchmaking is awful, numerous disconnects mid game, and often you dont get your progression rewards after completing a mission. Arrowhead needs to get it together.
This game is absolutely a sleeper hit.
Majority of my friends are playing, and the ones who aren't mostly just say that they aren't sure it's for them. I assure you, HD2 is pretty much for everyone.
Amazing game - has some flaws and hiccups at launch - but otherwise worth the money.
Right? I feel like Helldivers fans were looking forward to it, but outside of that nobody was really watching for it. Gonna be one of the best games of this year, already calling it.
Are you doing your part?
I'm doing my part!
Runs amazing on PS5
Hope fatshark are taking notes
4 players to liberate one planet? Why not have 128 player co op that's what you call democracy
Either just bad luck or one was just bored in the second challenging mission me and a friend did over 10 chargers were at one base or spawned in after the first few started charging us. It was a kill bile titan mission so maybe that's just normal
bough the game. 10 hours in. first time startroopers/hellriders player. this is pretty much the coop i always wanted. fix the bugs. add more planet environment (it does feels a little repetitive). more enemy types. also i would like to see some weapon tuning (gun porn like in COD, mey be not to that extent but something) and some character progression, like getting xp and putting into more HP or stamina, etc. reason is that, you character doesnt really scale in any way against harder enemies. at some point guns start to feel useless and all you end up doing, is cycling through stratagems with team. which is cool in a way but guns, i dont feel right about them not doing much on harder difficulties. like it takes me more than 1 magazine to take down a bot on medium difficulty. unless it's one of those melee bots.
idk if I should get this or Resident evil Village
Same I was tryna debate on this I see RE is on sale
Yes it is
Yes-end of video
"is it worth playing"
Me: Sorry i havent been on the server the past few days- been delivering MANAGED DEMOCRACY
😂😂😂
I don't think they are doing the human game masters yet. They have all of their resources on fixing issues in the game.
