- SO IF your pilot jet and needle jet and position are in the correct range of suitable operation, you should be able to put your bike in 5th gear like I do here, and hold throttle at roughly 1/16 to 1/32 throttle position.( yes I know, barley at all but roughly 1/4 inch span of distance covered) your bike should rev cleanly and consistently like u hear here with no peaks and valleys, BOGGING, SPUTTERING, HESITATION, DEAD FEELING, ( VIBRATION GOES AWAY ALMOST,) SLOWING DOWN, OR JUST GENERALLY A NOT SHARP, CRISP RESPONSE THAT HOLDS ITS LINE.... SO SPUTTERING, BOGGINESS, SMOKEY EXTRA EXHAUST, IS RICH, AND A LEAN BOG IS DIFFERENT THAN A RICH. BOG IN THAT A LEAN BOG HAS MORE OF A DRAWN OUT TWAAANG TO IT AND USUALLY IT WILL HIT LIKE A TON OF BRICKS AS SOON AS MOTOR ARRIVES AT THE HAPPY ZONE OF RPMS....A RICH BOG IS A QUIKER , MORE BASSY, WET, MUFFLED SOUND WHICH USUALLY IF BAD ENOUGH WILL ALLOW MOTOR TO COUGH QND STALL OUT.....SO IF U HAVING THE TROUBLE
GETTING JETTING DIALED IN , DM OR IM ME ANYTIME AND YOU CAN HELP.......KEEP THE RUBBER SIDE DOWN......PEACE!!!!!
Cr?..crs come from the factory jetted rich. 1 step on the main, 2.5 turns on the air screw. 40:1 oil gas ratio synthetic oil, check crank seals. Ngk 7s are good plugs for farting around, racing go up to an 8.
Sounds like it's coming down from rpm's a little fast in the beginning. Possibly a bit rich? What did you end up settling with?

@@ste7590 That has nothing to do with the powerband, you also have to test the jetting in the idling circuit, this was I guess what he did here.
The jetting you're talking about do indeed require from 1/3 to full throttle
