This Transformers 3 Commercial Swapped out Sentinel Prime. When it comes to marketing the Transformers movies always go big. Which means cranking the visual noise volume to the max to match the tone of the movies. We've seen characters such as Optimus Prime rage out over a chair. And we've seen him throw an m&m truck. But 1 of the most noticable commercials that when unnoticed would be his fight during a Burger King commercial. The Autobot leader dukes it out with Shockwave in front of a Burger King joint, while an oblivious couple feast on Bacon Cheddar Ranch Tendercrisp chicken sandwiches. It was very detailed and looked like it was ripped directly from the film. Which it was but not in the way the commercial entails. That's right this fight took place in the movie but it wasn't with Shockwave. The animations were actually reused from the movie where we see Optimus fighting Sentinel Prime.

That scene where he throws the M&M truck is the same animation they used in the Revenge of the Fallen forest fight when Optimus hurls the tree trunk at Megatron.
So is the scene where he transforms in front of the M&Ms. If I'm not mistaken its the same 1 used when Optimus transforms in front of Galloway.

they had to find a way to incorporate as much action i. the trailers and tv spots without giving away the twist

They did promote shockwave a lot though what kinda made it seem he’s was going be the big bad but then when it came out he was the fourth antagonist of the movie I like him and his driller worm pet but do wish we got even more of him. Like he could’ve been in the meeting in Africa with megatron, star scream and sound wave

As we know, originally, Shockwave was aupposed to be the main antagonist of Transformers DOTM and burger king probably already filmed the comercial and released it publicly before finding out that they changed the main antagonist
Fun fact: that burger king is located in Los Angeles

They do this a lot. You can actually see during Age of Extinction when grimlock transforms and spits fire before drifts comment that Optimus waves him to come to him before he actually says come here (which happened after drift spoke).
