I am about to buy this mazda3 2007 from someone and I was already curious about oil changes. Thank you, you've explained super smooth.
Take that silver hex screw out of the filter housing to drain it so it doesn't make a mess. That's what that small o ring is for
Thanks! I will definately do that next time.
EXCELLENT tutorial! Used to change my oil in my 07 Civic, SO much easier but This video helped me when doing it myself for the first time Mazda owner….this video was made for your common man’s DIY style. Straight forward and real. Thanks!
Our pleasure and thanks for your support!
Thx for documenting the process! Just bought an 2009 5 and going through my first oil change on it. Cheers!
Our pleasure thanks!
the silver hex in the middle of the filter cap is for the o ring to go on ,,,,,its a easy way to drain the oil so you dont make a mess
Thanks! Yeah I didn't know that at the time of making the vid. Definitely makes the job a little cleaner. Been using that hex ever since haha.
Great video and thanks for mentioning the oil filter socket size.

Thanks glad we could help.
Was this a 2.0 or 2.3 litre engine?
I believe it was the 2.3L.
@@roughcutsgarage Thanks 👍🏿. I have the 2.0L and it's the standard filter and not the cartridge like the one in your vid.
Sir how do you keep the paint still shiny?
I use Mother's Brazilian Carnauba wax after washing her. www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mothers-brazilian-carnauba-cleaner-wax-liquid-0392868p.html
Synthetic blend oil or full Synthetic.?
I like to use full synthetic.
