I am 62 and can tell you that if a person in your life has something mean or hurtful to say about you or your home they no longer need to take up space in your head, heart or life. Surround yourself with those who love you for you. I wasted many years feeling the same way you are expressing in this video. When I finally agreed to hold a small group in our home I was floored by how my friends commented on how they loved what I had done so far and my ideas for future plans I had. I saw a messy home and they asked how do you keep your toilet so clean with 4 men in your house lol. One even asked me how I kept my fridge so clean. So, where we see imperfection others see a different story. Never let anyone (including yourself) dictate your worth by appearance. We are all Gods children and are made for great things big and small. We are all imperfectly perfect in our Fathers eyes. Blessings Cami and you just keep doing you at your own pace.

I think your home is pretty and cozy as is. I’m a nc realtor and get tired of seeing the same house over and over. This one is unique, and beautiful even if you never do anything else to it.

Realistically most people don’t buy and house, gut, and remodel it all at once. You have so much more to offer than a pretty aesthetic… ( and I do love it ) I’m here for all of it… and very much looking forward to make overs that transform your house into your vision… whenever that is.

My mother -in -law gave me these words of wisdom when I was newly married and lived in the tiniest basement apartment, I wanted to have family over for dinner and was so ashamed that I didn't have a proper table, she said people come over to enjoy your company , they don't pay attention to the space!

Cami...we love you just the way you are. We are ALL full of imperfections and feel the way you are expressing at times. I have learned so much from you (I am 78). Enjoy the journey and enjoy your family while they are still at home. You will one day make your home beautiful...to your estimations but it is perfect with your tribe all around you. You my dear sister...are so very blessed!

Anyone who criticizes is a moron! You’re a sweetheart. Honestly, you’re healthy and loved and blessed. Something happens when you turn 50, or earlier for some people, you just stop caring about superficial things and superficial people. Lady, you need some perspective, stop watching other homemaking or design youtubers for a couple of months.it’s all vanity. I love being creative and curating a lovely home for my family but let me tell you, it’s not your tiles or your couch or your decor that make your home a haven, it’s your love and an attitude of gratitude.

Cami, you have absolutely nothing to feel insecure about. You are so lovely, and your home is wonderful. Many of us have experienced the same feelings you express, and we understand how vulnerable you feel at times. Sometimes life can be overwhelming, and the adversary would have you believe that you are not measuring up. He is most definitely wrong. You are an amazing wife, mother and homemaker, and you bless the lives of so many. You are an inspiration to us all.

Dear Cami, your wise words are much- needed in the design and decor world, much of it fueled by discontent. After homemaking for nearly 50 years and as a lover of beauty, I can testify that this is a recipe for madness. Your new home is such a gift. Thank you for taking us along with you as you settle in and let it speak to you. Let the noise in the comment section be just that and know that your tribe is championing the wisdom that is being modeled here. What a joy to be along for the journey. 🤍

We all feel vulnerable and judged by others, but as long as your family loves you for the love and kindness that you give to them, it doesn't really matter what others say, people often think or presume that they know you, but only the one's closest to us do and that's what really matters, the one's being judgemental are only reflecting they own insecurities onto others and this has taken me a lifetime to see, it is hard not to take the criticism to heart, but we are all created differently, but not all show kindness and compassion for others. You have a lovely home as it's filled with all the people who matter, family. ✨

Cami, your words expressed exactly how I have been feeling lately. I started a YT Channel a couple of years ago and at age 60 I struggle with showing myself on camera. I am embarrassed of how I look (mainly weight gain) in real life and on my channel. I have always told my 3 daughters to surround yourself with people that make YOU a better person, but I have to say, I am MY worst critic. Thank you for this incredible video....I really needed this right now! Oh, and your recipe looked absolutely delicious, I cannot wait to try it for our next gathering. Have a beautiful week Cami!!

    In my opinion, being immersed in your house and home in its "before" state will only add to the richness of the experiences that we'll be able to witness once you transform each space into your "after" vision. My goodness! You can't do everything in a day, week, or month! :-) This is a process. There's life to live, decisions to be made, cute kitties to enjoy, outside chores and gardening to tend, and dreaming to be had as you craft your renovation plans. I'm here for it and hope you'll find a way to let those insecurities drift away on a cool breeze! {{hugs}}

Girlllll! Our couch is 8 years old and our youngest has been peeling the leather off slowly when we aren't looking. We don't have baseboards, some parts of the house still needs flooring and the whole house has silver window tape on it to keep heat and cold out till we can get new windows. I still invite people over because aftee being in several peoples homes, I've realized we all have projects. Your home is very nice.

Weve never been able to own a home, especially right now. We have a small budget and no houses are selling in our range that aren't total fixer uppers. I get sad at times, but I'm so thankful for our rental. It's not perfect or what I really want, but it's sufficient. We're a family of 6. My oldest is 13 my youngest is 5. We homeschool and I stay home :) I've been in places where it wasn't sufficient and I'm grateful for what I have now! I love your new house! So much character!❤

Cami, thanks for sharing from your heart! I venture to say we all feel vulnerable and insecure at some time or another and you are a great encourager and motivator. I am the worst about not inviting people over because my house is not clean enough. I remember when I had young kids, I never wanted to invite anyone over because my house never stayed clean enough. I went over to a friend’s house one day and her house was a wreck! I felt so comfortable and felt my house didn’t look quite as bad. Thanks for reminding me about that.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I needed this. I have such an idea of what I want my home to be like and feel like. A true haven from the world. And then my eyes see what it is really like, and I recognize the large gap between the two. I don't know if I will ever get there. The adversary really works on me in this area. And yet I need to remember this is not what matters most. I will progress, and I am a work in progress. Cami, I will strive to open my heart and home more! It will be so hard! You have inspired me! I stumbled upon your channel while searching for fall decor inspiration. Just for a point of reference, I'm retired and into labradors, hot rods/car culture, fly fishing and nostalgic drag racing.....home decoration is absolutely NOT high on my list...lol. Young lady, your home and property are beautiful! You only walk through this life once so embrace this season of your life! Just think of all the potential home projects in store as you put your personal touch on this home. People are drawn to others that are genuine and show the real side of life. Stay positive, don't apologize for your life journey and walk away from those who spawn negativity.

THANK YOU so much for your encouraging words. I’m always afraid to open up my imperfect home and your videos are always so timely and speak right to my heart. I tend to have a cluttered home, and am always trying to pick up before anyone comes over. Between our 2 dogs and living in a small space, I will admit that I struggle far too much in this area. The Lord has continually helped me through the years to regain my focus and help me realize it’s about the hospitality and living out my faith as well as my home being a haven and place of refuge for my family and friends. Thank you again for your vulnerability to share some of your daily activities in your role as Keeper of the Home. Bless you sweet friend.

But know how much you are helping others and adding a bright spot to their days! Just be your lovely self! Don’t compare yourself to others…be who God created you to be! And most of all…don’t worry one bit about the naysayers and those who have nothing better to do than criticize. Rise above it all and keep pressing on!

I do so respect that you all do as you can rather than going into debt to get it right now. Not to mention the character building to wait for it till it is the perfect timing. You do good work and work hard. You love Jesus and teach your children to love Him. Those are the greatest things that you can do! You are a blessing on your channel. Your heart is beautiful! Words of wisdom. Open our "non perfect" homes to others. Most of us just want to share each others company more than check out the magazine worthy home. I just watched a you tube video with Diana Kokka. She was talking about making friends. Stepping out of our comfort zone to invite others over or to do something together, etc. I think God's maybe telling me something with what both of you have said.

Things were not perfect and I wish I would of watched this first. I of course apologized for any messes, even though it didn’t look bad. I intuitively knew I should not of said anything about the mess, I had to go there! 🤦‍♀️. I’m prepared for next time. Your homes have both been so lovely. I enjoy that you're not "perfect". I don't watch those types of channels.
I am definitely working on my attitude toward hospitality. My parents never liked to have people over to their house, especially as I got older, and I feel like I've taken on their beliefs of not being good enough, rich enough, house isn't big enough, etc. I didn't learn how to host, so I'm trying to learn as I go, and I'm trying to let go of feeling that our home isn't good enough.

It usually works out fine in the end but wish I didn't make such a big deal of what to serve. I'd rather invite for coffee/snacks more often instead of a whole meal. As you were talking, the song " This Little Light of Mine" popped in my head. Hide it under a bush, no I'm going to let it shine. That's exactly what we all should do. If you come to my house which we bought 5 years ago and been living here for 3 years. In the master bedroom we have tons of boxes because there are no cabinets to put towels or medical supplies. We are working on those things but now as fast as we hoped. You would laugh at our master bathroom with rugs all over the plywood. There are many of us in the same boat. Our house was built in the 80's so it needs some changes (a lot of changes lol) I love the before and after videos and the vision you have for all you want to do. One day it will be the way you want it. So just let that light shine no matter what anyone says. Blessings on your day!

This is was inspiring to me Tammy and your message was just what I needed to hear. I'm in a similar situation to you. I just moved away from a house that my Husband and I built and that I absolutely loved. It was beautiful and I truly made it my own! And we are now moving into a home that I love, but is also extremely dated...like hasn't been touched since the 80's. And we're also not in a position to gut it and remodel the whole thing right away. So I'm feeling nervous about showing people my home, and like you, feeling insecure about what other people are going to think. But, my Husband and I are following a dream and this is where it needs to start, with an outdated old home half way across the continent. Anyways, thank you for your video. It was so good to hear from someone who is also adjusting to a change in their living scenario.

Times that one has trouble breathing the reality she will never be able to see her grandkids graduate etc. I feel that way! But you are doing an amazing job! Never give up! You are more than enough and I hope you consider me as a friend! Love your home and ideas! I love in eastern Tennessee. Blessings to you! Hugs, love and prayers!

I don’t think you really meant you were putt8mg epsom salts in your blender, we’re you? That’s what it sounded like you said, anyway?
I did research on washing pesticides off fruit and veggies because I have a new fruit fly that I have had to start spraying for. I learned that baking soda works the best to get pesticides off, but vinegar is good for washing berries to keep them from molding.
Thanks for the encouragement to open our homes, not matter how imperfect they or we are!

Thank you for sharing. Have you ever read the book Holy Hygge by Jamie Erickson? I love this book and it shares a beautiful Christian perspective on opening our hearts and homes to others. You might enjoy reading this book.
