It really depends on what you are hunting in the state forest, and how you will be hunting. For most hunters a 3-9x40 is fine for most situations, however it can become cumbersome in really thick areas where the encounter occurs at close range. In that situation a red dot or low magnification scope becomes your best friend. Thr same is true for long distance shooting. If you are planning on shooting across valley's you should consider a scope with a higher magnification.
could you some processing videos and really dumb it down, just above "knife = sharp" i want to hunt but once i down something what do i do?. different species you can get in Australia too, I'm sure there's differences and things you do differently, what can be used and what further work needs doing, like if i skin a deer is skin usable or does it need to be treated with something? you keep the head sometimes too, is that mounted taxidermied or do you process to the skull somehow. you have some info on the topic and there's other videos on youtube but there's always something lacking and i want to see your take, and on animals I'll actually run into in Australia.(sambar, chital, pig, camel, ducks, rabbit, roo ,hog deer, hare, reds, rusa) maybe not a whole video on each deer but i'm sure size difference makes it a bit of a different job
Hi Sherwin, I'm actually working on a full hunting course that will be in video format and available online next year. So keep your eyes open for that. As for your other questions, here is a video I've done in the different types of deer in Australia ruclips.net/video/Ej4CzKTmMb8/видео.html Similarly, here is a video I've done on the skin tanning process ruclips.net/video/Pjdr9wKuc6o/видео.html And this one gives you some information on the tools you can use to fine hunting locations ruclips.net/video/eUzz63TTNoA/видео.html I hope they help. Ah nice! Welcome to the community:)
What online caller do you use? I say it in one of your videos but I can’t find it
The caller is a flexmark. Good for Sambar

What scope [ specs ] do you recommend for state forests?
