When I was a girl there used to be a public swimming pool near my home. It cost money, something like three dollars a day. Or you could get a summer family pass. My mum always chose that plan. Anyway, the water in that pool was so cold because it came from a spring. By the time it was time to leave your lips would be purple and your fingers were shriveled and wrinkled, but we had a ball. And there was a game room with pinball machines and a snack bar that sold hamburgers, hotdogs and chips. They sold lollies and soft drinks. Jims son reminded me of that pool.
