I enjoyed that one! Bea has shown again that she has a big heart underneath those layers of thick skin. The emotion she showed when Doreen left proves she cares more about others than it at times appears. Doreen going after Monica through the bars was hilarious! Shame about Doreen's condition but she has been on the verge of snapping for sometime so its no great surprise its happened. Maybe now she will get the help she has needed for far too long.

When I was a girl there used to be a public swimming pool near my home. It cost money, something like three dollars a day. Or you could get a summer family pass. My mum always chose that plan. Anyway, the water in that pool was so cold because it came from a spring. By the time it was time to leave your lips would be purple and your fingers were shriveled and wrinkled, but we had a ball. And there was a game room with pinball machines and a snack bar that sold hamburgers, hotdogs and chips. They sold lollies and soft drinks. Jims son reminded me of that pool.

Yep Judy Nunn did play Elisa Stewart - Alf Stewart's wife in Home and Away for many years. Speaking of Alf Stewart the actor who played him was Ray Meagher who also appeared three time in Prisoner Cell Block H first as nasty Jeff Butler the Vietnam mate of Jim Fletcher's who later kill's Jim Fletcher's wife and kids by planting a bomb. His second appearance was then as a member of the Lionel fellows gang who hooks up with no good Sonia Steven's and his final appearance in Prisoner was as the sadistic governor of Blackmoor prison the evil Craven. But i prefer Ray Meagher as the wonderful Alf Stewart who is still on Home and Away to this very day the longest serving actor to date on H&W!

There are much more than 200 episodes. I already watched the mid-series episodes. The series went on for sometime after most of the original characters like Bea and Lizzie and Doreen were gone but I lost interest when those characters were gone, especially Bea. I think the mid-series episodes are the best.

Just a little comment about characters and their names and who they look like: so we have Lynn who Bears a striking resemblance to Olivia Newton-John who was at that point one of the Australians biggest celebrities, we have Steve who looks remarkably like Bill Clinton ,we have a character named George Lucas I think everyone understands that one and lastly Edith Wharton was a short story writer and novelist in the 30s and 40s .makes you wonder-- are these inside jokes or just pure coincidence

Yeah well my comment was a retrospective kind of thing --looking back at characters and names.. Ironically Anais Nin was a female writer also.

@ Eugene DeGeorge: The 'George Lucas' name is a genuine tribute to the Star Wars director as one of the scriptwriters is a massive Star Wars fan.

@@tefllife2024 I think my Bill Clinton comment was probably not correct because no one knew who he was at the time. there are others who thought that Margo look remarkably like Rod Stewart. I thought Sonia Stevens looked quite a bit like Farrah Fawcett

Edith Wharton - one of my fav authors ... and Prisoners. Sweet old lady I feel sorry for. Val Lehmann has serious acting chops - the scene with Doreen and then Vera is top notch. Joyce deserves a kicking - and so does Clemens. Poor Lizzie - this is what happens from constantly crying wolf. Monnie is so damn ridiculous - the issue is with that cheating craplord weasel she's married to, not his latest sidepiece. 😑😑😑 Fletch is another one who needs psychiatric help.

If only this was the last we ever saw of the annoying Doreen, her voice grates on me, can't stand the character Sheila Florence and Val Lehman are brilliant as ever.

Her voice is unique, she has a sort of sing song to it. She starts a sentence on one note and always ends up on the same other note at the end. I've noticed I started talking to my dog like that lol. He likes it!

seriously, why would the aussie criminal justice system lock up an old biddy like Edith?? Don't they have lawyers that might mention her circumstances and plead for mercy?? They must have rocks in their head. I know Prisoner wasn't renowned for It's acting but surely the show has technical advisers to ensure some kind of credibility... still highly addictive but..
