I think she's talking about mortality. The red though my eyelids as a kid looking towards the sun, would always comfort me in uncertain & unfamiliar situations. The warmth of the sun, & the red of the blood flowing through your eyelids reminds you that you're a living breathing being, & that all of this is a gift. It's all temporary & it's all a gift. I have an experimental drone EP I released in 2013 based on the same concept. Not anywhere near as good as this, though. I love this band.

A old friend showed me Hiatus Kaiyote back when I was in my freshman year of high school. I remember falling so in love with their sound and energy, and it brings me such pure joy that they are keeping it up. Their music reminds me of her, and I won't forget the memories we shared.
