I’ve been telling myself that there aren’t enough “quality” OCF BTS videos w/ great storytelling out there and been wanting to make some myself. Watching this video was not only perfect timing, but let me know that I gotta do them now. Manny, thank you so much for being a true inspiration to us all. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great job Manny!!! , the results are fantastic, the fact of moving a few centimeters the flash gives totally different results. Special mention for Elizabeth, she's really beautiful and excellent as a model, great job!!! Also the surroundings of the photos and obviously the whole of the natural light and the flash give the perfect frame for those magnificent portraits. Thank you for showing us the details of your work, from shooting parameters to the work for each photo composition.... Thanks !!! 👌👏
Bangers Manny!!! Only bangers! And Elizabeth is back! Thank you Manny for taking me around Chicago through your videos and sharing the knowledge on a hobby I love! 🙏🔥
OCF is such a game changer. Just goes to show that different lighting techniques can bring your photography to another level. Again, anotha excellent video Manny! I need to get a photoshoot in Chicago one of these days
As always, Mr. Manny Ortiz, a great video! You have inspired me to get my first Sony, a A7IV and I'm very satisfied! Thank you so much! I posted a stories on Instagram of me making an unboxing and tagged you and Jared Polin some days ago... My best regards from Brazil! Wish you happiness!
This is the second outdoor off-camera flash photography shoot's I've watched and I really like these images you have captured in both shoot's. The other one you did a month back. I got to find a model and maybe a more powerful flash unit than my Nikon SB700.
Whenever I take pictures during day I don't see effect of my flash maybe I didn't turn on hss sync to use such speed as 8000 with 1.8 fpoint plz what can I do
Long time fan, back from the original channel. Just wanted to say, I'm happy with the success you've been having and I hope to see you at the big 1M soon.
Great shots! Question for ya Manny! Can you explain the difference between canon and Sony in a future video when it comes to Editing. Like doing a shoot like this with both cameras and editing them to make them look identical. I would love to see someone show how to get a Sony look out of canon and visa versa. 😎👍
Nice work Manny. I've been using the Variable ND RF to EF adapter on Canon R5 now and loving it. I don't have to shoot at 8000th and can get the full power out of my flash by not hitting HSS. I used Variable ND's before but having it at my fingertip like another control on the camera itself has just been great. And it works with all EF L glass.
Great video man really relatable, unfortunately I don’t have a studio but I always do my work outside especially living in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. Definitely going to order that beauty dish
Hi Manny. These shots look fantastic. Unfortunately, one problem that I see with using flash outside is that the pictures tend to look like collages, when the light on the subject differs from the light in the environment.
Brotha Manny you flexin the game Bossman! I shoot a lot of my subjects at the Planetarium too. Manny I got a location for you downtown that's crazy brotha! I don't think too many photographers know about it because every time I'm there I'm the only cat shooting there. I send you a message on Facebook of where it's at and folks will think you are on a Caribbean island or something! Keep doing your thing my brotha and again always amazing work!
LOL Manny you kill me "Nah she's from the 1950's". I feel as if I've been way over occupied since last year, with my DJing, and let's be honest, the natural lighting of London, is just grey. So after watching this, the inspiration is there, and I'll head out next weekend and get some shots created with my flash. Once again, thank you for the video, stay blessed 💜
I dig these but the only thing I don’t like about OCF is the unrealistic flash pop. For me maybe a little less flash power would work. They just end up looking like hose OG Glamour Shots from back in the day when I do it lol. In sunny conditions, the strobe works well.
Agreed. It looks great but unnatural. Makes the background look fake. It's easier to use outdoor flash as a fill light. Look up Muse Chan, he's a master at using outdoor flash as a key light.
So, I'm slightly embarrased of the potential of taking TOO long to figure out my settings. Ive read that its better to decide on aperture, then speed, and finally ISO. As a beginner, how would you explain the need to go to 1/8000 in broad daylight? I would've started at 200...do you decide on aperture..maintain, lower ISO to 50 due to the broad daylight, then keep increasing the shutter speed until you have the sharpness that you need (as seen on minute 1:41 NO FLASH)?
I'm not sure if maybe you've covered this in another video, but how are you syncing your flash at such fast shutter speeds? The A1 caps out at 1/400th (or 1/500th in APS-C mode) from what I've read, but you've listed some of your (flash) shots at 1/2000th and 1/8000th in the settings.
OFC with a sprinkling of BTS…….BOOM! 👊 I’ve only used the Godox v1 with some great results outdoors believe it or not : ) have the AD200 but haven’t had the chance to use it, can’t wait 🙏 Amazing shoot, keep up the amazing work 👊
Thanks for another great video. I guess the only thing that bothers me is when the lower legs goes almost to black in full length. I think I’d probably break out a larger octa.
So I just got the Manny Ortiz Beauty Dish last week, just wondering did you use that silver plate insert for this shoot or had it off? Is there a major difference?
Oh my god I love your presets and bought with out ready that my Lightroom version should be latest but I have Lightroom 5 :( anyway this is not complaining I just learn so much from you it’s just a support from me.
im trying to get into using off camera flash and from what i see in your description, you have to buy the trigger separately from the actual light? How do you know whats compatible? im trying to get one for my nikon d850.

Awesome.
Let’s not forget how amazing it is to have a model who makes the process easy 💫
This comment is A1

Finally outdoor shoots!! My fave... and also a fave of mine, Model ELIZABETH, very pretty.
This the first video that didn’t over-explain the process !! Thank you thank you!!!

I love how insightful and at the same time chill/informal this video is!!
Your videos are always so straight forward and leaving in only the essentials. They really stand out. Great job and thanks for sharing!

Yess!!! More OCF Outdoors! I love these videos!!! I got my first flash because of your OCF Videos. I love to play with light!
Thanks Emir. Im doing another on wednesday.
Whenever I take pictures during day I don't see effect of my flash maybe I didn't turn on hss sync to use such speed as 8000 with 1.8 fpoint plz what can I do
@@spectrumlivetv Are you using the flash to fill in the shadow? Flash should be more noticeable when used in the shade.
Your beauty dish is one of my favorite photography purchases EVER, thank you brotha!
One of the best in short lessons for outdoor flash usage (and an exceptional model).Thank you Manni!
I love Off camera flash, any time any day. Keep it coming!

Could we see an OCF wedding shoot? That would be epic!
Gorgeous model awesome shot Manny
Thank you for the insights. And also, great photos!
Great tips. I myself always look for more interesting shots as opposed to have a model standing. Props, the background, and shadows are just a few.
Nice work Manny.

From the beginning I subscribed to Channel mannyortiz ' many things I have learned tricks and tips about photography .
..tq manny 😎😎👌👌👌
Hi great video as always, I have a question.do you set your white balance on your camrea and your strub?
Nice video as always! Thumbs up for the Sears Tower. ;)
So happy to see you and Elizabeth shooting again. She is the only model I follow on Instagram and it is because of your videos. Great shots.
You always make it look easy, man. And…. Chiriboga with the assist!!! 🙌🏽

Manny can you give the info on the monopod being used. Thank you great stuff!

Bigger modifier will do the trick. I think the flash should be more of a fill light than anything else
@@RockyMaiviaMiami agreed. As a key it looks so fake. Manny tends to not make them look too fake but overall I just don’t like the look of flash
Agreed. It looks great but unnatural. Makes the background look fake. It's easier to use outdoor flash as a fill light. Look up Muse Chan, he's a master at using outdoor flash as a key light.
It’s all season to taste, but if he exposed a little brighter initially (before adding the flash) the results would be more natural.
@@ikoyDaPnoy Muse Chan does weird crap!

Awesome shots, beautiful model....love your work and videos!
beautiful video as always, a question where I can get that monopod for the flash
ms wheeland's white top looks great when it's highlighted with white strobe against the cityscape.
Missed these outdoor shoots!
What light stand was being used? It looked portable but secure, which was dope for a windy day.
Finally out of the studio Manny!!! This is why I subscribed for on location OCF and that magic you put out. Love it!
What type of mono sick are you using?
Is it possible to achieve most of the things you've done here with a SpeedLight? E.g the Godox TT 685 II?
Thanks Manny. Good pictures.... beautiful model.))
You make it look so easy. I love your tutorials.
👍😃 great street shots ... Lighting so dynamic.
Thank you
Super awesome to watch, first thing that got me was that damn aweful shoes! But what an awesome fun model to work with!.
I don't like the background looking so dark these days. I think looks better when bananced , think that trend has had its day
Yeah. Underexpose the background to a extend but not too much.
Well make your video and show it better than Manny did. hmmm I bet ya cant.
Disagree, but then glad art is subjective. You shoot and edit how you want.
pretty cool man, i really like the resutls (y)
Love how Manny called it the Sears Tower, not the Willis Tower. Real Chicagoan. 😅
Hi! Did you compare Sony a7-4 with Canon R6 . Which is better for photo/video? What camera is favourite for you?
4:46 pose is great but the woman in the background kills it.
lolol no accounting for taste. that woman is why i love this shot!
I'd love to see more of this type a content 💯💯 dope work atleast I have learned something
According to you, what's the best camera for photography?
Tell me please.
Sweet home Chicago! That Skyline is BEAUTIFUL at night.
So no ND was used? Do you ever use ND? Or find that the HSS use doesnt give you enough flash power.
These short form tutorial videos are 🔥🔥
Thanks Luke
What's up Manny, do you still recommend this light a year later or has there been a similar newer one that's popped up?
So inspiring!! Can anyone please tell me what boompole he's using for the flash?
Your work is as always 🔥🔥question whats the monopod your assistant is using?
Nice photos. Always Great work.
Support your favorite creators. Don’t skips ads 👍
Manny, what on-body camera were you using to record the POV?
Beautiful shots 😍
Thanks for another great video. I guess the only thing that bothers me is when the lower legs goes almost to black in full length. I think I’d probably break out a larger octa.
Hi Manny, aren't you using Godox AD400 anymore?
The best part of this video is that you correctly refer to it as the Sears Tower.
Fantastic results !
Appreciate that
Oh Wheeland !!! Nice vid, nice explanation
Can you try the same thing with a reflector instead of a speedlight ?
So I just got the Manny Ortiz Beauty Dish last week, just wondering did you use that silver plate insert for this shoot or had it off? Is there a major difference?
Elizabeth is AMAZING! You were okay too, lol!
Why was the photographer so far away from the model when taking photos eg @05:11? Sometimes it looked about 20ft away.
Brilliant work
Great stuff as always Manny!
Hey is that a monopod that you are using for your flash/softbox? I need to get one of those Instead of using a heavy stand for my AD300 Pro
Excellent video and tips. I especially appreciate that you called the Sears Tower by its correct name. (Englewood boy here)
Wow! Awesome photos!
Oh my god I love your presets and bought with out ready that my Lightroom version should be latest but I have Lightroom 5 :( anyway this is not complaining I just learn so much from you it’s just a support from me.
Awesome work as always
Is 85cm softbox good for couple shoots? Or is it jst for single ?
Is this achievable with a Godox tT685 ? Or not powerful enough
Is there a way to use two regular flashes with a bowens mount, if you can’t afford a more powerful light?
Yes you can. Godox makes the AD-B2 mount if you have 2 AD200 units. You can combine them for a 400W light, great for outdoors and still light weight.
@@DiegoTerzano thank you!!!
Yes! We miss on location shoots!
Hey manny when I put the trigger on my camera the shutter speed is stuck at 1/250. How can I change that
Really nice shoot and video!
im trying to get into using off camera flash and from what i see in your description, you have to buy the trigger separately from the actual light? How do you know whats compatible? im trying to get one for my nikon d850.
Hi Sir do you have any idea Nikon Z9 comfortable speed Trigger Do you specific brand send me please link
Do you have any footage of using the Godox ad600BM ?
hello good night what model is your monopole? I'm looking for a resistant
Preset question. Will these work well with fuji color
You came to a beautiful city🤞🏾🔥
Manny you're the man
Tnx to you and YT i know flashing is easy
ON POINT PER USUAL.
Great vid man! Windy day though 😅
Wow! Loved all the black dress shots!!! ❤️👌 Thanks for the tutorial
Yes, OCF is a PITA, but I hate to shoot without it. Great video Manny!
Agreed
Good stuff bro 👍🏾🆙
