After years of making Pasteles this way with my Grandma and Grandpa Padro , I was watching RUclips or Facebook and came across this gentleman( I think he is in Miami Florida Con Sabor chanel) and I Believe his wife helps film it., they made them for a Big crowd size amount . In those disposable turkey pans. My mind was blown 🤯 because someone came up with an idea I was always thinking of . Thank you for these recipes! I just found your channel today and plan on cooking for Christmas dinner and bundle watching these. My dad is Puertorican and I didn’t grow up knowing how to cook the food but love this side of my heritage and really want to learn and pass on to my daughters ❤️❤️❤️
Marta, I have to congratulate you for your pasteles saga. You took the time to explain every detail. Love your recipes; you can not deny your PR genes. I use as reference your pernil recipe forThanksgiving and got the perfect cuernito. My granddaughter 12, ask me, when I was on my assembly line for my pasteles what are you doing? After I explain I said, you have to learn so you can do it when I am gone. She look at me and said “grandma that it’s to much work” but I will keep on trying 😂❤
I never knew they sell special parchment for pasteles. My mom and grandma always wrapped the pasteles in foil so I started doing it like that till I wised up and found out how bad it is to cook in foil. I use regular parchment but now I'm gonna go look for the special one. I love your channel. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
I'm glad I could help! Again, if you can find the pre-cut sheets, Amazon sells large sheets that you can cut down. It's so much better than foil, but back in the day our ancestors did what they had to do, so I honor that.
Hi Marta, I'm in the process of bundling my pasteles. I bought the parchment paper listed on the Video link. I'm worried because it's my first time using it. Have you had good results with it? There is no pasteles paper avaliable where I live. Thanks.

Aluminum foil is out right so freaking unhealthy to any food prep. Poison!! But ok to each his own. Use it to wrap your pasteles with poison aluminum. Lol😂

Wouldn’t the chemicals of the sharpie melt into the water it’s boiled in?
It may leach into the water, but parchment paper is non-porous, so it won't leach into the pasteles.
