Me and my doctor talked about floaters at my last visit! I noticed them for the first time about a year ago, and see them very rarely. I'm 43 so I'm assuming it's the vitreous floaters because I'm getting old LOL, or dust.

smrtysam it’s called visual snow, it’s a static-like visual aura. apparently its rare but maybe it isn’t and we don’t know because visual snow was barely recently started getting studied i think less than 3 years ago.
I have it too by the way, for me i usually see, stars, random spots that aren’t floaters, almost looks like after image of looking at a light, after images from space around me and i also see flickering spots and a really bad case of blue entopic phenomenon (a LOT of cells floating around that look like shooting stars when looking at a bright blue sky or white surfaces) and photophobia. i also occasionally get ringing in my ears.

My visual disturbances recently changed drastically which freaked me out. Saw my eye doctor who confirmed it was just my ocular migraines presenting differently and low blood pressure issues which cause my eyes to lose blood flow on occasion. I hate how so many things can affect vision that aren't directly linked to the eye, I have thought many times there was something wrong with my eye only to find out it was some other health thing causing it.

I see spots because my house is insanely dusty. (Why we women love new furniture and high tech vacuums.)
Direct sunlight and certain lights make me see spots, however, of a different kind, and spur some of the wurst migraines. I used to be told this was a sign of dehydration. Not a lack of water but a lack of actual hydration, which requires more than mere water.

When I get the strobing I tell people I can't see well, which is true. It becomes hard to read as the strobe effect disrupts my sight. Thankfully it goes away after 20-30 minutes and I just have to ride it out. Thanks for the explanations!!

I’ve never noticed the aura effect when I get a migraine, but it definitely happens, maybe I just haven’t payed attention but now I definitely will because if that is a sign I’m about to have a hellish night then maybe I can take meds to help a little before hand 😅 I use to get frequent migraines when I was 15 and finally told my doctor a year and a half ago about it, I described it like a building up In my body that I literally have to throw up to feel better, and she put me on birth control. It definitely has helped, I have a lot less of them now thankfully but it still worries me that my body was building up hormones or something, I’d be up till 12am with the migraine then 3am finally sleep only after throwing up everything my body could. I’ve been tested for thyroid disease but they said I’m fine.

Good to see you here . My kid just complained that he sees purple oval shaped spot and it disappears within seconds and this happens in bright and twilight environments . The other day he said he got a reflection from the glass of a moving car or when light hits at a certain angle he sees rainbows and like this spot that goes away . He said it’s purple coloured and before that he said it was light green. His general eye exam is normal with good visual acuity and he is able to read without a thing . He gets it while concentrating tho occasionally not always. He was using the phone a lot he is 7 years old . I know I should have been more careful but that’s the way kids are these days. I have limited his screen time and the ophthalmologist gave tear film drops but it didn’t improve . Today he is planned for dilated eye check up. I don’t know please help I am a worried father

I recently began experiencing floaters and tinnitus. They both have gotten worse over the year and the tinnitus is starting to have a very negative affect on my sleep. I have also experienced an increase in dizziness and fatigue. I am seeing black, blue and sometimes even red spots with occasional flashes of light in my peripheral vision. I also see visual snow (especially in darker areas). This has all left me very concerned and has took a big toll on my mental health. I recently set up an appointment for an MRI and I’m very worried that it could be something wrong with my brain.

I've also been experiencing floaters and tinnitus too. I've had floaters since I was a kid, but I only see them in the sky.. Now, I notice them everywhere and they're alot and also have a darker color. And my left eye is blurrier than my right eye. I'm only 15 and I'm scared. I wanna go to the doc but I know my parents won't let me, because they'll just say it's because of my phone.

I wanted to ask you about a weird type of floaters I'm experiencing. Trying to make the long story short. I did have a PVD, took billberry extract and lutein, most of those floaters went away. Back in March, right after a cervical spine shot treatment, I started experiencing very fast advancing cataracts. Got the right eye operated on (I can see yay!) and the left is scheduled for July 18. BUT. Before I got the cataracts surgery, every time I would go outside on a sunny day, I would see like someone had thrown in front of my face a fistful of glitter. I thought it was the light reflecting on the cataracts (happened for the right eye with worse cataracts only). But, after having the surgery, the glitter is still there. Not as much as before, just few sparkles here and there. It only happens on bright sunny days. Oh and the PVD floaters in the right eye for some reason have diminished in size and slightly changed position so they're less bothersome. But, yes, what about that glitter in the sun thing?

    Hi. doctor.
I am 36 yrs. There are two tiny spots(like some particle on spects) on my right eye. Since 2011. They were not annoying me till beginning of this year. By oct 2018 I started my PhD. I started using computer monitor unusually for long time due lots of work pressure. During May 2019, I noticed that the one of the spots have enlarged a bit, and when I started thinking, it's annoying me badly. Hence I started using monitor with blue light filter, with all brightness, contrast reduced. In Mobile also. Suddenly, this week I see that size of the two spots returned to old size which is not annoying me now. What can be learned from this. Advise. I will undergo a thorough eye test next month scheduled. Will liquid msm, etc. Useful. ? I will be happy, if I get ur email I'd.

In my left eye (my dominant one) from time to time after working on my computer or on a very bright day. I develop a spot near the center of visual field, it looks the shape of a football it has a purplish color when my eyes are open and inverts to white when closing them slowly fading to black. It feels like its a afterimage( more closely feels like the flash from a camera but in my case it doesn't go away for days or weeks) This one I'm going currently going through now makes it difficult to read sometimes, as I am reading it covers some words and I have to blink a few times to somewhat clear it. Not sure if what this could be but would appreciate any advise. Thank you,

At the time of medication I had taken steroids. During that time I started Timolet OD drops. Still it continues. I have been eye floaters since the mediation on both eyes. Does I need more treatments? My doctor . says that there is no treatment for the scar which formed due to inflamation. He also says that there no treatment needed for florters, needed only if you feel flashes on your vision. Kindly advice.

Doc, I was wearing a tight eyemask without noticing, and it seems it teared one of the blood vessels in my eyes. And I woke up to feel slight pain in my eye and noticed a black thing floating in my eyes. At first, I thought it was temporary, but then I smelled blood and realized it was really blood floating in there. Please, tell me is it temporary? what should do to fix thia?
