  • In this video I bring you along as I daily drive my Chevy C10 for a week. These trucks were made to be work trucks, so they can definitely handle being daily driven. But it is an old vehicle so problems will arise, however, is it comfortable at all?

    Give it 2-3 pumps before starting to crank. It'll fire up immediately every time. I used to daily drive 72 monte and then 73 c20, now 75 c30

      Great cars! Bad fuel mileage but who cares! :)

      @bluesxt it's still cheaper paying for a v8 that's paid off. Than full coverage and a car note on top of gas.😉

    Wish I could tag you a photo. My dad and I have one. Been around since I was like 10 years old. So like 25 years up in Ontario. He was going to junk it but I said no we are restoring it. Took a year but it's pretty nice. Off frame resto. Fixed all the bad rust and body. 350 with a high flow intake manifold, high compression cylinder head, high flow carb, shift kit, 2 and 3/4 stainless exhaust and magnaflow mufflers. Black and chrome trim all around. Took some work but everyone loves it wherever we go. Take care of your ride. Such a great truck and so easy to work on! Cheers bro.

    Of all the things that had a huge difference in driving my cars, installing new shocks made the most perceptible change. You’ll enjoy the difference. I would imagine the task would be easier to perform than all the falderal I went through. My Hondas used to go through CV boots…and if I didn’t pay attention…CV joints all the time. That 11.4 MPG figure for your consumption would require far for strength than I could ever muster in myself. In a couple of my cars (the CRX HF and the Prius), I went bananas if the gas mileage fell below 50 MPG. Some of my older cars struggled to reach 35-40 MPG, lol! My first…and worst…car got a miserable 22-26 MPG. I’m just too much of a whiner, and I was not cut out for paying for gas, lol! Your traffic is so nice and light compared to here. Enjoy those commutes! Aloha!

    I have a 1975 Chevy K10 that I've had to daily drive to work many times. When my other vehicles break I drive my old Chevy. She's always reliable. My truck has an Edelbrock 4 barrel carb. It's pretty much like a quadrajet. If I drive it every day I only need to give it 1 pump for it to start. If it sits for several days it does take a lot of pumps to start it. The fuel has just evaporated away I think. I'm assuming with your truck it could be the carb just needs a little adjusting or maybe there are some leaky gaskets. Its hard to say. Its an old truck ha ha. As long as it starts thats the main thing. A word of advice about the AC. I recently recharged the freon on my truck. I never had tried the AC in the 10 years I've owned it. After doing that the AC did mostly work but the high pressure line would freeze up. Turns out the orifice tube in the line was clogged up. That caused the blockage. So before you put freon in there, check that orifice tube! Anyways, thanks for sharing your beautiful C10 with us! Best of luck!

      Thanks for watching! Appreciate the comment. Check out my latest videos where I just recently installed AC on this truck!

    My 1986 C10 squeels. I thought it was the speedometer cable, so I got a new one because the previous owner said it was an issue, but now I think it may be my belt.

    • @bluesxt
      @bluesxt  6 месяцев назад +1

      Simple way to confirm if the belt, if you remove the belt and then run the engine and you still have a noise then it’s not the belt, if the noise goes away then it is the belt

      It also could be one of the joints in the drive line needs greased or replasced

    You live in Alpharetta.. I noticed the scenery. LMAO
    I really enjoyed your video and I am wanting to prove to my boss that a older C10 would be as reliable as a newer truck. I live in Conyers. 12 mile commute each way and I believe a 350 in general is an awesome way to get around. 11.7 mpg is not bad considering the Hemi Dodge realistically gets 13. On a good day and that’s today’s technology.

    Just bought a 1985 suburban! I have been dailying it for a week. No disappointments so far! Just the gas mileage kills me 😭. Other than that super strong truck love it! Gave up my 2011 crown Vic for it. You still dailying yours? How’s it holding up for you?

      I’m thinking of giving an update on how daily driving this C10 went for me.
      I daily’d mine for the last 4 months. Ended up recently buying another car that gets better gas mileage, but more importantly has a backseat. But the truck is still chugging along! Besides an issue coming in this weekend’s video update

      Ya the gas mileage is pretty brutal on a done up 350 ci like ours. Cost like 60 dollars to go for a 3 hour drive and that's just cruising. Lol worth seeing people say that's a nice truck though!!

    59 miles in a week is crazy to me, I do around 30-50 a day on most days. Sometimes more

    I have a 85 k10 with a v6, do you think having a smaller engine better the mpg??

    • @bluesxt
      @bluesxt  8 месяцев назад

      According to google, the 4.3l v6 should get just a little better mpg than a sbc 350
