Watching your videos because I'm looking to learn to play the lyre. Saw your nod to Owain Phyfe and immediately was taken to memories of him. I basically grew up listening to him and speaking with him at faires and Pennsic.
One of my favorite songs from my whole life, and I adore your version. Beautifully sung and played! I thank you for posting it, and am now "abonné", here in southern France, where you can come and play any time. I never knew anything about Owain Phyfe, only discovered him on RUclips this morning just before finding your version under it. Both are delightful. Chapeaux!
It's strange that a 17th century tune sounds more 'modern' played on a 7th century instrument than it probably would have on a period instrument (e.g. a lute or a cittern).
Hey there Lyre fans! A lot of you have asked how you can get a recording of my lyre music. Well, now there's a way, but only for a limited time. From now until November 15th, i'm offering bonus lyre tracks including a recording of Deor as a donation perk as part of my indiegogo campaign! Check it out at igg.me/at/singthesunsreturn/x/12435860
You did a really great job on this one. Do you ever publish the chords to your videos? I've been trying to find a good version of this song's chords and am having bad luck.
This cover continues to live in my head, rent-free.
This man has a superb voice!

By the Gods that was great! Owain smiles down!
Don't comment about something you do not understand.
I found this video about 3 days ago and I already listened to it a gazillion times

I love this kind of voice. Would you say it's rich in harmonics and poor in fundamental ?
Does it have to do with using resonators in the head ?
I love it
That's very cool!
can you give chords?
jolly good fallow

Where did You buy that one?
can you pleasee upload a download for this?
What tuning are you using?
Yes, please! The chords, muy friend!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!
The lyre looks hard to play. No frets like you have on the guitar and 3 more string than you have on a violin.
Will you figth for a tribalistic and arcaic Europe, with Rome and the Gods'Pantheon Rule over the Europe and Asia? Long live Indoeuropean people!
