Pepoppins...I have been viewing these episodes, just to try to understand something about the longevity of this program. With all of these decades gone by, interest in these characters and their stories is still going strong. It seems fair to say that no other "Western" television program has maintained such a large and enthusiastic audience. I have been watching these re-plays and must say that I don't agree with your assessments of the writing and the acting. I have been impressed with some of the writing. In the original format, these programs had commercials, so writers were required to create a story-line, with a theme and characterizations, as a script which would fit into about 45 minutes of screen time. An impressive number of these episodes have strong themes, with stories which hold a viewer's interest from start to finish. I don't think that this story, about these women being chased, is the best example. The story is not original, the characters are not interesting, and in this case I would agree that the acting was annoyingly bad. The writing for most of the other episodes was excellent in my opinion. I have tried to understand how they managed to create interesting stories and characters, within the time limits. I also disagree with your overall assessment of the acting. Certain of the supporting roles were played by accomplished, respected actors. Maybe someone with more knowledge can comment on the cinematography. The way that I see this, there is a film-like quality, especially in the opening scenes, which sets this program on a level above most television programs. While I appreciate your comment, I disagree.
Yes, a mile and and half run is about all they can do. But in Westerns, horses can run at top speed for Ten miles. If Indians are chasing, maybe 20 miles.

Never did see what the problem was with contemporary Christianity and Mormonism, particularly the polygamy. I say if a guy has the resources and can provide for his spouse or spouses and said spouses are of legal age and not pressured or forced into it in any way, I don't see the problem.
Well, one problem is that all those "ifs" are pretty much never met. Another problem is, it isn't equitable. The women aren't allowed to have more than one spouse.
The problem is not between Christianity and Mormonism, the problem is between monogomy and polygomy and the origins and purposes of the two. Monogomy is the better image for understanding the relationship the Bride of Christ has with her husband. It is a particular kind of love that is exclusive, not inclusive.
@@chatryna Polygamy caused one of the initial schisms in the LDS. Joseph Smith's first wife didn't even want any part of polygamy and stayed on in Illinois after Brigham Young took the followers on to Missouri and later Utah. Emma Smith and those who sided with her, including Smith's son, formed the Reorganized LDS (now known as Community of Christ).
Omg all this sick shit in these comments. Why would someone be bothered by someone elses sex and love life (freely chosen of course)? As long as YOU can go to "heaven", don't bother and get over it. Each must live as he sees fit. Without taking away somebody elses freedom to do so of course
What lesson? They lesson was a lie! They act like preachers would really be crazy like that and would chase down a pregnant woman! That's just ridiculous! The whole story is utterly stupid! You don't marry 2 women! That's adultery! That leads to hell. Don't be deceived.
Looks like God punished the 2 fornacators Heber and Elezbith Ann and left the innocent the baby and Suzanne, of course Susanna was not innocent because she condoned fornacators but she just didn't know any better
This is based (not 100% accurate) on the religion of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The nickname is Mormon but that’s not really the name of the Church.
It's fairly faithful to the LDS faith as it was practiced in the late 1800s. (Full disclosure: I'm not LDS but Baptist, though I have studied the overall LDS tradition after a visit to Nauvoo just before COVID. Nearly joined the Community of Christ, formerly RLDS, but my wife wouldn't agree even though the COC has abandoned most distinctive Mormon teachings in favor of a more liberal mainline approach to Christianity with the occasional Book of Mormon quote.)
She said the baby will be raised in his father's "faith". So if I believe I'm a frog, that can be my "faith"? No, only true faith is found by obeying the bible. None other. There is no other faith besides true Christianity. There are only cults. Don't be deceived. God's Word is inspired by Him and God breathed. This can be said of no other book than the bible.
Do you have a monopoly on God's revelation? God doesnt fit into a manmade box, and he isnt limited by the boundaries religion tries to put on him. 2 nephi 29:2-14
And the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. These are the sacred scriptures that will bring all men, women, and nations to the greater understanding of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To this I testify.

Even if the 3 of them "loved" each other, it was still wrong because it was still adultery! Hello! What if a old man a child and a woman "love" each other? If its sexual, does that mean it's right? NO. Wake up.
The writers of this episode made this preacher a joke what she was and was not an example of what a true believer in Jesus teaches. It raises up the Mormon cult by not going into what they really believe which is that Jesus and Lucifer our brothers and all of the other nonsense that this church teaches why don't you look it up for yourself and realize that they teach when you're first go into the service that everybody is a God and eventually you'll get your own planet if you can believe that nonsense they really do teaches I went to a meeting just to see what they taught

Never did see what the problem was with contemporary Christianity and Mormonism, particularly the polygamy. I say if a guy has the resources and can provide for his spouse or spouses and said spouses are of legal age and not pressured or forced into it in any way, I don't see the problem.
I totally agree, as long as everyone consents other people should mind their own damn business.

What e lesson 👍
What lesson? They lesson was a lie! They act like preachers would really be crazy like that and would chase down a pregnant woman! That's just ridiculous! The whole story is utterly stupid! You don't marry 2 women! That's adultery! That leads to hell. Don't be deceived.

*The Pursued: Part 2*
Mormon rancher Heber Clawson is forced out of town by bigots with his two wives -- one of whom needs medical attention.
"I'll take care of her, and I'll take care of your child." Hand that rocks the cradle. Could be a story line for a psycho-sequal.

Psalms 128:1 Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
John 3:16 KJ
Do you have a monopoly on God's revelation? God doesnt fit into a manmade box, and he isnt limited by the boundaries religion tries to put on him.

And the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. These are the sacred scriptures that will bring all men, women, and nations to the greater understanding of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To this I testify.
when I looked at the first nation man who raped me (I told him that God sent me to tell him of his plan of salvation it was never my plan but I told the rape hound he was guilty and that many times I wanted to kill him but I also told him that God loved him (and my healing took place for me because I obyed the one and only true God (but jesus still showed me how to die in a death sentence the right way I would want to hear the creator say come in here hay ya ya yep yaps im not full hate
What?

Truth does stand up to all “religion”.

This episode was nauseatingly preachy and sanctimonious and way over stretched with drawn out filler.
@Joe Devola Thanks I'm glad you liked it.
The previous episode was that. This one was filled with far too much shooting and chase scenes. It actually got boring, and I got a headache from the plethora of bullets that in the end only managed to kill 2 men, but you couldn't really call it that preachy.
