So.. I am starting a JAPANESE YAKITORI Business in Jakarta!
The brand is called: "Tori-YO"!
We're just starting out so I would really appreciate if you guys can come visit our FIRST bazaar opening on March 7-10 at Lippo Mall Kemang, the event is called Cafe Du Market & Museum.
This is a big step for me career wise and I am extremely nervous too because I have invested a lot of time and energy into this! During my long distance relationship with Titan, I flew to Jakarta about 2-3 times every month. It was really tiring but I realized I had more to gain through this traveling than I thought! Titan and I are both BIG FOODIES, and we always love trying new places in Jakarta despite our extremely high food standards haha. As we tried more and more places, I slowly realized that the food standard and quality in Jakarta isnt that good at all compared to restaurants in other developed countries, that's when I started thinking about potential F&B businesses to open in Jakarta!
In order to start Tori-YO, I made a bold decision to quit my stable corporate job in Singapore and move to Jakarta. I also invested the money I earned in that job to start Tori-YO, which is why any support or help I can get from you guys would be simply amazing!

im not trying to discourage you guys or anything, but starting F&B in Indo, especially Jakarta is not as easy, i have friends who spent 3m or more to open a restaurant, using hid end chef, crazy good decors and still close after 2-3 years. but again, each to their own luck, and i do wish that your boyfriend would find success in Indo market.
Nothing is ever easy. Every business has its fallback. You did not mean to discourage but your comment is discouraging. Before entering the f&b business, Gaius and I have considered all aspects - and our largest discussion was how to avoid failure as much as possible. And we decided we would focus on food quality and taste. Which is why r&d for Tori-yo took almost a year. If we are so afraid of failing that we don’t take a chance, then we will never taste success. 😁👍🏻 either way thanks for commenting! And we would love to serve you at market museum and you can let us know your honest review hehe.

Don’t forget to partner up with gopay promo in your business. And much enhancement on social media as well as zomato will do a lot of help in promoting. If you do segmenting your business into certain people, I’d highly recommend serving beers/soju to complement with yakitori. But if its more like general or family segmented, then serving beers/alcoholics drink wont be suitable. Best of luck in your business! Cheers 👍🏻
