I love Reate! I have a couple Begg Steelcraft knives that I love. Definitely going to pick up one of these. Thank you for always putting out quality knife content, Brother!!!
oh snap ...wow... a knife company that actually realized that LEFT HANDED people like knives to! Kudos to them!
Not a unique thing, just not as prevalent as it could be, but okay.
Signed,
A left-handed dude.
🤘🏼✌🏼
I wish more companies made their more premium stuff lefty friendly, often times they’ll do the budget stuff with reversible clip and then just not bother on the premium stuff, it’s very frustrating lol still a decent amount of lefty friendly stuff out there these days
Just identify as right handed.
@andyslaven5538 nah. It's the only time(along with most power tools) I identify as ambidextrous.
Walt, I'm always ambidextrous as a lefthanded dude.
How are you with left-oriented things?
Nice design and famous manufacturer. I like. Beside all that I’m saving money for a manix 2 in ReX45 cause I don’t own this steal yet. Maybe later. thanks for the review Jerad 👊🏼 !
For the price I would have hopes 4 14c28n or even s35vn. I am definitely going to look at this but I am excited for the Vosteed Ankylo with Elmax for just a bit more money.
Dude as SOON as the copper wash model gets back in stock it is an insta buy, I cannot wait. Will be my first knife produced by Reate.
Got one last week. I'm enjoying it, love nitro V, but the detent is a touch weak and I'm not sure the engineering reason the screw side of the pivot is the button leaving it more prone to filling with gunk.
Love it overall, regardless. Build quality is just fantastic. Hand feel is great for the size. Acoustics, for me, sound(and feel) like washers which is cool.
The secondary slide lock is fine, but isn't solid when the primary is pushed. That could be a positive in training the ol fingers not to push it during use; that hasn't happened to me, but I guess I understand the concern.
Would totally buy again.
Got a bestechman good boy as a free gift on that order. YyyYeah... studs are misplaced a bit and feels, odd? in the hand, but I've not carried it yet. Just saying I may know why they gave it away.
Also-
RIP Ed Piskor
Nice to see an affordable Reate knife. And although I dislike those holes I'd be purchasing one just like the
Snecx Vision FG by Civivi.
I picked up the Copper/ FDE and Black one and love it.
I got one I love it. Not bad for 100 at WMK. Good review bro.
Really hoping you can do a review on Berg blades new barber button lock version sometime, been seeing it everywhere lately but as almost always trying to wait until you or MC puts in the time for a review before sinking in the cash because you guys give such nice well informed reviews
Todos los cuchillos están muy buenos, me gustaron todos, y son de muy buena calidad..!! Muy huena explicación..!! Excelente video..!!
These bearings is realy cool.😊
I was interested until you mentioned the 3 inch blade. I'll just keep what I've got thanks.
Would love to see this knife lock tested with at least a spine whack or two rather than just a tap...have seen too many button locks fail ,but would pay what they are asking if the lock could be trusted.
Mine has a fantastic detent
I am intrigued, BUT it is too small for my taste. I prefer my pocket knives in the 3.5 inch zone.
I want one so bad. I don't get to buy knives anymore 😢
Apparently you have to feed your children everyday. 🤷🏽♂️ That's some fine print for you.
Right? And daycare for one is practically a house note these days. Some of these budget knives start looking pretty good all of the sudden.
Just a thought, but maybe instead of watching reviews for things you can't afford and taking the time to comment and complain about it, you could be working a few extra hours for that $100 and just buy it. There I think I solved your issue, most welcome.
@@salimoneus😂
Metal Complex showed one of these with a flipper tab instead of thumb studs and I can't find it anywhere, wish I could I like it better
That's PL-XF (F for the flipper), but it doesn't look like it's available for purchase yet.
@@PPeteris ah ok thanks very much, I have been looking everywhere to try and find it. Thanks for the help
Anyone know when the larger, flipper version is coming out?
Tbh looks a lot like the QSP canary but it’s more than twice the price
This is the way 😎
That's what up my dude
they need to make a xl or just a bigger model with like a 3.7 to 4in blade
Nice!
Like mine. Not big on the harmonics but otherwise coll
Palm filling
I’ve seen 2-3 folks that have had their locks seize up. I’d wait for a v2 when they figure it out more and make it slimmer.
That's why returned mine, if the pivot comes loose at all the button would get stuck so i had to let off then press again
You just have to adjust the pivot and that goes away. Mine hasn’t gotten stuck since I adjusted it.
Yeah I think that happened once to me but hasn’t happened since. No big deal IMO
I dont like that holes on handle but understand why..I think the price is affected by the complexity of the locking method. You need to make unique ball bearings... And simply the reputation of the company. If Spyderco can ask $80-90 for some of its models that are 8 cr and made in china, why would Reate not be able to .Realistically...
Pretty dope
Does anyone actually prefer speed holes? Not tolerate, but prefer?
Very Kool
Most push button locks are inherently unsafe, much too easy to disengage. Having to put a lock safety on a knife tells you all you need to know about that.
Plus not a fan of bearings on knives, just another point of failure and finicky with dirt and debris, with more maintenance.
Maybe a decent fidget toy, but will pass on this as an actual tool.
Thanks for the detailed look.
Compare that to the new T6000 from Reate. Lol.
Thick, heavy, small, complicated? No thanks.
