Monika - English Subtitles

Also called "Early in the morning awakes our town" or "Early in the morning awakes our little town". This song was used by the East German military, the Nationale Volksarmee (NVA, or in English, National People's Army).
I've heard the song was made to "replace" the earlier German song "Erika" (as the two sound similarish) but I can't find any sources to back that up.

Wack how much German spelling changed just in the past couple decades. The word dchön in this video is now spelled schön, and other stuff like schwartz got changed to schwarz just since around the 70s.
