- weakness of the old Presonus is the 5 volt regulator which causes the digital audio process to be disrupted, sometimes not functioning normally.
sometimes no sound on some channels.
solution is to replace the old regulator part with IC7805 (output 1 Ampere)

great fix, thanks! I took it one step further and added a 12v fan, tapped from the overhead lamp line. So instead of all IC's and the new power regulators running at 125+ deg, they now run at 95 deg or less.--
I did the same repair and now have two little heaters in the unit. Can you post details on your fan mod and maybe a pic?-thanks.

i think I added a small resistor on the fan to throttle it back...so its ultra quiet.
@@kirklawrence4326 I thought I installed the regulators incorrectly because the heat sinks were getting so hot.

In my experience after a while most of the PSU board electrolytics around the transistors that get warm need replacement as well. While they read good values, the ESR goes through the roof.

Hello! Excellent video! However, my presonus studio live 24.4.2 has a different issue, I am hoping you could give me some tips on how to fix it. When I turn on the console, the only thing that turns on is the display screen. But it only stays blue the whole time. None of the other function buttons light turns on, nothing appears on the screen and none of the input, gain, or eq knobs levels turn on. Pleasseee helpppp!!

Hi, I have so 16.0.2 all 1-12 channel not working . No input signal metering. Replaced 2 7805regulator . Still no signal showing in all channels. Any advice ? Thank you

good day i did change the ic's but now i getting a static sound from the output. Could it be an ic that i changed, is defective or is it another problem.

Hola amigo. Tengo una studiolive16.0.2 y los canales 4, 5, 7, 8 y 13/14 no dan volumen. Si le llega entrada de señal pero no dan salida. Incluso un canal da volumen de salida aun que el fader este abajo Sera el mismo problema. Que el que solucionaste en este video ? En verdad agradeceria me pudieras responder. Saludos!

Hi , I have replaced the IC7805, the 48v Phantom power light turns on but no sound input when using condensor mics. Dynamic mic do work fine. any idea's? thank bro keep up the good work

I will try this repair but i don't think that's the problem, you can see signal in all faders but no sound comes through weather the firewire is hooked up or not.
if your mixer is fine you don't have to. later if there are symptoms of damage as I mentioned

i have a problem with mine where all meters are reading signals but no output sound neither from output or headphones ,can you tell me whats wrong ?
damage can be from the firewire and can also be from the DSP.
try to modify the 5 volt supply section in the DSP module by replacing it with IC 7805. like in my video above

Hasta ahora solo he reparado el modelo 16.02 Firewire y no he encontrado ninguno de los errores que mencionaste.

necesita saber que en SL16.02 hay una sección firewire que está integrada en un módulo DSP, y aquí en Indonesia el precio es muy caro alrededor de 7 millones de rupias
@@creativera2180 Bien...La falla surgió después de conectar SLl 16.02 a un CPU con Win 10
La sección IC RAM está en la sección firewire y está integrada en el módulo DSP, mi análisis es el módulo DSP que está dañado / funciona mal

Todos los problemas y fallas de este equipo son producidos por la temperatura...despues de algunas horas encendido, se eleva la temperatura y muestra varias fallas...la marca tenia que haber previsto este problema para evitar que los usuarios tengamos que estar inventando formas de bajar su temperatura... Totalmente Decepcionado con este equipo ...
