Battery adapters have revived the old nicad black n decker firestorm range of tools and the nicad dewalt xp range. The only problem I found is battery low voltage cutout is not activated and you can run a li-ion down too low wrecking battery. Also some adapters left on battery can drain battery.

I have that adapter and it says it’s for Dewalt, but it also works with Hercules power tools

Interesting review. Thanks for sharing. I'm surprised at the low number of thumbs up. I use cordless tools from several brands, from Makita, Ryobi, Hikoki and cheap, supermarket brands. I did consider adaptors when I started buying Ryobi tools as, although the tools themselves are very reasonably priced, the batteries are often more expensive than the tools. However, when I looked into adaptors, they seemed to leave the tool looking bulky and unbalanced. On top of that, the cost of knock off batteries for the various brands convinced me to go down that path instead.
Are they as good as the genuine batteries? Probably not. I have not had any problems with the Makita, or Ryobi third party batteries: they charge, hold a charge, and work flawlessly. I would consider an adaptor so that I could use the Parkside batteries on other tools, as they are so cheap, but I've not seen an adaptor that would perform that task.
Anyway, as said, thanks for sharing your experience with these adaptors.

Thank you for the great information. I'll just buy another battery. I 'd rather keep my tool investment.
