I was in Quiroga 4 months ago and the carnitas are the best. About Morelia what can I say is just beautiful. Maybe in the top 3 most beautiful colonial cities in all Mexico
Chasing a Plate - Thomas & Sheena: OMG moment... not the Carnitas, Gaspacho or the enchiladas (more on that later), BUT the cute as Banana dress has made an appearance. I cannot believe you have carried it in your under 15kg luggage 😅 all this time!! Love it teamed with the leggings! Sheena your an absolute legend.

You guys keep blowing my mind. Just gets better and better in Mexico, l actually think l will be sad to see you move on to your next destination. The Gaspacho has got to be my mmmm moment though! Hahaha go hard or go home 🤣 we thought we’d have to take the rest home as it’d be far too much but we polished off the lot in a sitting. It was fabulous. Yes very much along the same vein as chaat in the whole spicy, sweet, savoury flavours. The cheese reminds me a little of a mild hard feta more than Parmesan. Super tasty! So, so happy you are enjoying this series- it really is such a thrill that you guys love it as we are loving making it! Thanks for watching and commenting Brilliant But Blue 😄 Cheers, Sheena

True mate! And both cuisines with such distinct and spectacular flavours! Thanks for watching and commenting- hope you enjoyed this video. Cheers, Sheena
Well, Chiles are only native to North America which happens to be in Mexico. Chiles, vanilla, chocolate, pumpkins, turkey, zucchini, tomotaoes, cactus, avocados, guayaba, corn, papaya, jicama and much more were exported or taken back to the old world Europe from Mexico and even Asia.
@@armandoadame412 En Ingles para que me entiendas: Chiles are native to Mexico. Evidence for chiles in the diet of indigenous groups in Puebla's Tehuacán Valley dates back at least as far as 6500BC; by 4100BC, the plant was already domesticated
😋😋😋😋 they are out of this world! We loved them so much.So glad we travelled to Quiroga to eat them. Thanks for watching and commenting Victor Bolaños- hope you enjoyed this video mate. Cheers, Sheena

@@ChasingaPlate we shred the chicken and put it inside the enchiladas, we also put some tomatoes sause/salsa on top of it , really enjoying your Channel
Excited to see paletas in the home of them! Always see “Michoacán” in the names of the shops here. Guanabana is a great choice - such a wonderful flavor and still creamy!
We always love eating foods in the places they originated 😍 mmmm Paletas are addictive! Thanks for watching and commenting guys- hope you liked this one! Cheers, Sheena
lol, theres no "home" for paletas, the paletas are made all over México and traditional all over, because a chain of paleterias is called "La Michoacana" this doesn't mean the paletas are from Michoacan... (Michoacana = a woman from Michoacan) we have "Holanda" and be sure the paletas and helados they made aren't from Holanda...
Hi Vadjan Degoni, well it was the 3 brothers from Tocumbo in Michoacan who popularised the paleta after they moved to Mexico City in the 40's. So Michoacan sorta is the home of the paleta 😀
Hahaha what even was that??? 😂😂😂 Sheena was killing herself and I didn’t know why. I have no idea how that came out of my mouth 😂😂 thanks so much for watching this one. It was so neat to film! Cheers, Thomas 😀
Thanks for watching WafflesVee and for your kind words. Hugely important in our books and an integral part of food cultures of so many places- it’d be wrong not to include them. Hope you enjoyed this one. Cheers, Sheena
That's how it is pretty much everywhere in Mexico. We will feed u before u decide to buy any. Whether its fruit, meat, candy, veggies. Doesn't matter Mexicanos be proud of anything they sell and they enjoy watching you eat their food. I miss Morelia 😢
We had an amazing time Edgar Torres! Morelia is such a beautiful city- wandering around it was such a joy. Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you enjoyed this video! Cheers, Sheena
🤤🤤🤤🤤 bet you look forward to it every year mate! We loved getting out to Quiroga- the carnitas were delicious. Thanks for watching and commenting on this one, hope you enjoy the rest of our Mexico series! Cheers, Sheena
So many options for the paletas 😍 Guanabana is def a great tropical fruit and very creamy, even when eating the fruit itself. My grandma loooooved it, so it bring me great memories
So many choices! We found it so hard to go past the soursop though. It was heaven. We tried it at a number of shops and that store was the winner by a long way. 🤤 cheers, Thomas
Hello. You find all the great tasty food. Hungry again so i only have bacon, egg, Heinz baked beans, hashbrowns and grilled parmesan tomatoes. Great vid😋👍
Michael Andersson: Its Breakfast time here also.... ld happily eat a 1 litre of Gaspacho for breakfast!! Yours sounds yummy better than my Special K! Enjoy.
Thanks for watching Michael! Gotta say though your big breakfast sounds pretty amazing. If that turned up now I’d be accepting with alacrity 😍 so glad you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
Same! It was such an awesome experience heading out there! So memorable! Thanks for watching and commenting Jessica, so happy you enjoyed the video! Cheers, Sheena
Ahhhhh...carnitas done right is the food of the gawds! Definitely worth whatever journey you have to make for them. I've had a pork loin slow cooking in the crock pot for 3 days. I'm going to make something like your ugly delicious dish with it. Slow cooking is frustrating and rewarding. As always, your videos just make me happy.
Well said MsKestrela! Oh my gosh- 3 days- it’s going to just collapse when you prod it. YUM!! That’s comfort food right there 😍 thanks for watching and commenting and for your lovely words! Cheers, Sheena
My parents are from morelia and we been to Quiroga and let me tell you it is the best carnitas 💯💯💯💯🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🌮🌮 and I been going to morelia since I was a little kid. I miss Michoacán😕👌🏻
It is SO worth the trip! We loved the carnitas in Quiroga so much 🤤 Hope you can get back to Michoacan soon Mayo Buzz- we really loved our time there. We met some amazing people. Thanks for watching and commenting on this one 😍 Cheers, Sheena
Great videos! I think you guys could spend an entire year eating accross the country. You haven't tried not even a quarter of the diverse cuisine in Mexico. Seafood, pre-hispanic, fusion, other fabulous street food from the coast, central northern and southern parts of the country, and much more. Lovely videos, you gained a new subscriber. Thanks again!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. We could spend years and years filming here I reckon. There is just so much diversity isn’t there. This is our second visit to Mexico and once we leave on this visit we will have spent about 4-5 months here in total. Still feels like we’ve only just scratched the surface. Thanks very much for watching this one. Cheers, Thomas 😀
@@ChasingaPlate have you considered visiting the Mayan Riviera, Los Cabos, San Luis Potosi, Puerto Vallarta, Veracruz Port, San Miguel de Allende, Queretaro and /or Puebla. Each one of these places has amazing cuisine and very different from each other. Puebla has one of the most interesting fusions of Jewish-Spanish, Indigenous, Middle- Eastern and French influences. Some examples of these dishes in Puebla are the Semitas, Mole poblano, Arab tacos, Al Pastor Tacos, Chile's en Nogada, Barbacoa (braised Lamb) and of course cakes and traditional Mexican Sweets. There is even an entire street dedicated to this traditional artisanal sweets. Don't forget to visit the Mexican coast for out of this world seafood Have an amazing time in Mexico guys and keep up with this fabulous videos!!
Ah yes on this trip we were in Queretaro for Dia de los Muertos and we were in Puebla too but we both got sick, Thomas lost his voice and we were unable to film 😝 next time! Love how there are still so many states left for us to explore! 😍 have a great weekend mate!
Love the mixto/surtida The mixto includes ears, ribs, fat, pansa and lean . There's a place in Chicago that makes the best carnitas outside of Mexico. Your journey to get those beautiful carnitas. Sometimes the toughest road leads to paradise. Oooh fruit with cheese. Jicama with lime and chile sublime. Lordy missing the neighborhood enchilada stands in Chicago atm.
You’re so right Rebecca! A bit of work which ends in delicious food is totally worthwhile we reckon. Love hearing about all the brilliant Mexican food you can find in Chicago 😍 hope you enjoyed this one mate- we had a lot of fun filming it! Cheers, Sheena

Everything looked delich. The fruite dish looked super interesting. I make homemade enchiladas. I male my own chili with ground beef, spicy of course. Use corn tortillas cooked in oil til soft. I use the meat from the chili add chopped onions, sharp chedder cheese. Once dish is filled i add onions, cheese and a few spoons of chili. Bake and serve with pinto beans and rice. Of course my home made hot sauce. Come on over i will fix my style of enchiladas, learned from my mom. Love from Texas.
Oh my gosh reading your description made my mouth water dswetz1 🤤 we might just show up one day 😝 thanks for watching and commenting- big love to you in Texas! Cheers, Sheena

*_carnitas_* - Delicious looking and great atmosphere but it's impossible to beat the carnitas from the butcher in CDMX - pork belly and ribs carnitas tacos. I made the face when you showed those. 😳 *_gaspachos_* - In Mexico I had fruit with tajín of course but after my maiden voyage, I always requested lime juice only which I had daily. Fresh fruit to me is fine as is but I understand the appeal. *_enchiladas placera_* - Silly story. Years ago my co-workers and I went to a Mexican resto every week which had lunch specials that were named Morelia, Baja, Chichén Itzá, etc. I always ordered the Morelia which was enchiladas placera. Just now put two and two together. Never made the connection until tonight. 😐 Hahaha. *_morisqueta_* - Quite appetizing to me. One of my favorite ugly dishes is biscuits and sausage gravy. Super popular in the U.S. south but can be found everywhere. Very unhealthy (of course) but it's one of my go to comfort breakfasts...with eggs and potatoes. Google image search but you've been warned. *_Fantastic day, guys._*
Have to agree that those carnitas in CDMX had it going on in terms of how they looked- gosh that pile of them was truly spectacular! Loved your enchiladas placera story- that kind of stuff happens to me often! Biscuits and sausage gravy look and sound like our kind of meal 😍 thanks for watching and commenting Tosh- so glad you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
Really good choice destination! Keep it up. You’ve only scratched the surface of Mexico.... I would recommend venturing elsewhere in between so as to freshen our palette..., so to speak. Too often we see foodies exhausting their destinations..... hope this makes sense. You tubers, can you vouch for me? Lol cheers
Thanks for watching. Not sure what that means sorry? We’ve spent about 6 months in Mexico over a few trips and love it. So much more to see and eat though. Cheers, Thomas
morisqueta can also get more interesting because it can be made different ways, you can add fried tacos, the sauce can come with a good size piece of cheese that turns meltyish because its thrown into the spicy tomato sauce pan, it can come with cecina beef or chicken or pork like he had it, and of course with slices of avocado and topped off with some salsa de aceite.

Wow you guys are really getting to enjoy Mexico and its most traditional and authentic food
Totally worth it to go 45 km outside the city
Absolutely worth it mate! 😍
The Mamuchos: I think they have walked, bused and driven alot of Km's for this epic series. Definitely paid off!!
Brilliant But Blue totally agree!
So great! The Mexican and Turkish cuisine are incredibly similar! Meat, vegetables, hot spices and sauce (also spicy)!
True mate! And both cuisines with such distinct and spectacular flavours! Thanks for watching and commenting- hope you enjoyed this video. Cheers, Sheena
Looks but not in flavior
Well, Chiles are only native to North America which happens to be in Mexico. Chiles, vanilla, chocolate, pumpkins, turkey, zucchini, tomotaoes, cactus, avocados, guayaba, corn, papaya, jicama and much more were exported or taken back to the old world Europe from Mexico and even Asia.
@@gustavobarajas6155 no digas pendejadas, El Chile tambien se da en Asia. Esmas la comida de India es mas picante que la Mexicana.
@@armandoadame412 En Ingles para que me entiendas: Chiles are native to Mexico. Evidence for chiles in the diet of indigenous groups in Puebla's Tehuacán Valley dates back at least as far as 6500BC; by 4100BC, the plant was already domesticated
Soy de la CDMX y en Michoacán están las mejores carnitas!! Ya me dió hambre!!!

Hi Edd Mack, thanks for watching and commenting 😄 hope you enjoyed this one! We loved eating and filming in Michoacan- the food culture is spectacular! Hope you enjoy our other Mexico videos! Cheers, Sheena
That gaspacho looks really interesting! You went nuts with that liter. Savory, sweet, salty and spicy combo. The addition of orange juice sounds intriguing
When we started eating it I thought there was no way we’d finish it but it was really light and refreshing so it was a breeze 😍
I've never been to mexico myself but my whole family is from michoacan🇲🇽 Good to see where my roots come from 💯
😍😍😍😍 thanks so much for watching mate! We loved Michoacan- it was awesome to explore and the food was epic. Are you keen to visit Mexico? Hope you enjoy the rest of our Mexico content. Cheers, Sheena

😍😍😍😍 delicioso!!! Watch out, we might just pop round for dinner one night! Hope you like what we have coming up mate. Cheers, Sheena
🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 She made enchiladas exactly how my mom makes them!!! I'm going to go visit her and ask her to make me some tomorrow! Great video by the way.
Yum! Enjoy and thanks for watching. Cheers, Thomas 😀
Thumbs up for Thomas saying "GEHR-ayj" I didn't know i needed that in my life 😂 That paleta looked amazing as well! ♥
Hahaha what even was that??? 😂😂😂 Sheena was killing herself and I didn’t know why. I have no idea how that came out of my mouth 😂😂 thanks so much for watching this one. It was so neat to film! Cheers, Thomas 😀
I don't think Ive ever heard Sheena say mmmmmmmmmm that many times before 😍 xx

Thank you for always giving a shoutout to the contributions of indigenous people when it comes to food.
Thanks for watching WafflesVee and for your kind words. Hugely important in our books and an integral part of food cultures of so many places- it’d be wrong not to include them. Hope you enjoyed this one. Cheers, Sheena
Awesome how they gave you the sample of carnitas with a tortilla!
It was the best!! 😍 everyone was tucking into their samples and looking so happy 😄
That's how it is pretty much everywhere in Mexico. We will feed u before u decide to buy any. Whether its fruit, meat, candy, veggies. Doesn't matter Mexicanos be proud of anything they sell and they enjoy watching you eat their food. I miss Morelia 😢
I am glad that yall whent to visit my state of Michoacan i am from Morelia and i see yall like to stay their...

So many options for the paletas 😍
Guanabana is def a great tropical fruit and very creamy, even when eating the fruit itself.
Great vid😋👍

Don't forget to visit the Mexican coast for out of this world seafood
Have an amazing time in Mexico guys and keep up with this fabulous videos!!

😍😍😍😍 it’s awesome to hear when people recognise parts of cities we’re in! Thanks for watching and commenting Cindy blue, hope you liked this one! Cheers, Sheena
*_carnitas_* - Delicious looking and great atmosphere but it's impossible to beat the carnitas from the butcher in CDMX - pork belly and ribs carnitas tacos. I made the face when you showed those. 😳
*_gaspachos_* - In Mexico I had fruit with tajín of course but after my maiden voyage, I always requested lime juice only which I had daily.

You guys should have tried the Pambazos , duuuuuuuude there bomb 😍😋
😍😍😍😝😝😝 gives us a reason to return!
morisqueta can also get more interesting because it can be made different ways, you can add fried tacos, the sauce can come with a good size piece of cheese that turns meltyish because its thrown into the spicy tomato sauce pan, it can come with cecina beef or chicken or pork like he had it, and of course with slices of avocado and topped off with some salsa de aceite.
Such great info. Thanks so much for watching mate, hope you enjoyed the video! Cheers, Sheena
