James Wan looks like your average geek. Seeing him alongside the big actors of Hollywood, you wouldnt even think that this guy is the director if this movie. He is amazing!

i can't believe how much success Leigh Whannel and James Wan have had since they first got out of film school, almost immediately after they both came out with the "SAW" franchise, then the "INSIDIOUS" franchise, then THE CONJURING" franchise like these guys have taken the horror genre to a whole new level and just basically gave us some really good movies that we can look back on and say yeah we had some good movies back in our days, yup I'm going to look back on these and say wow those were amazing horror franchise's and to think right out of film school they had no one wanting to take "SAW" off the ground but since then they're hitting them outta the park and delivering so many amazingly great movies, and i for one am a huge horror movie fan so i am really excited whenever they come out with new movies to entertain me with. keep up the good work guys i love everything you guys do.

They did that to make their actors feel like this is really happening to them. And they shot this in Rhode Island. We're everything really happened. And Lorraine helped a lot. Oh and their is no magic of Hollywood it's all real the house the warrens house and the tree everything. I've studied on this ever since I saw it in theaters! This is an amazing movie. GreAt work!
They shot it in Lousiana. They did use A, not THE, real house for exterior shots, as well as some interior shots. The house used, was built in 1987. The rest of the interior shots were on a set. The Warrens' interior home shots were also done on a set.
