If we get new furniture, hopefully it is new furniture, like beds, forges, barrels, and mine carts, instead of boring old bookcases and tables.
Would love a 3d forge, and would say it's about time for Dungeon dressing like crates and barrels!

I would really like beds. Maybe get 4 beds that you can stack to make bunk beds for soldier barracks.
Cooking fires and cauldrons would be neat, too.

I would be shocked if JoD wasn't for sale at GenCon this year (it will certainly be playable there). if we take that as a wishful assumption, then probably others will get it the 2nd week of August. then again, what if they release it early? I guess that's always possible. the sessions at GC advertise as you will be among the first to play it (we'll see how that goes)
I should correct that.. it doesn't say "Jungles of Delthrak" it just says new quest pack.

I think we'll get Wizards of Morcar. They seem to be staggering releases with new expansions and revised old versions, so my money is on Wizards of Morcar coming out after Jungles.
ranger / adventurer/ hunter /shaman, I hope they are good, dwarf and barb alternative. maybe treasure without doom type ability, whatever happens I'm excited to get another dwarf.
New heroes is okay. Especially if the dwarf is the same as the female Dwarf from the Mythic Tier box. However, we already have a lot of heroes. New monster types and more terrain would be awesome. I'm really excited to see the gorilla, snake, and spider enemies on the cover.
I would love to see a 2 heroes + 1 zargon campaign or quest line for this, similar to the Barbarian/Elf quest packs. Honestly, getting two players is much easier than four players a lot of the time, and definitely more fun than just a single hero player.

The order of the 3 kind of creatures portrayed on the cover make me belive that they represent the multiple choice of this pack, 3 different path 3 different main foes.
My money is on they are both dwarves, new Hunter class inspired by WoW. A charm animal ability, a "keep one potion you've drank" ability, and a direct damage ability. Around dwarf stats.
I am in the camp that dwarf and barbarian are slowly fading into the background with all the variety that is coming out. Barbarians whole thing is early campaign damage that is quickly equalled. At least the dwarf doesn't need a toolbelt.
I hadn't really thought about it until you said "These are NOT the same heroes" (meaning the vanilla Dwarf and Barbarian), but what if these ARE the same CLASS of hero? For example, they could both be rangers (a female dwarf ranger and a male human ranger). It would be pretty cool to have the same CLASS of hero be two different RACES, as well as genders. Anyway, we don't have any specific ranged class of hero, so having heroes that start with a bow and have a "Steady Aim" or "Puncture" skill would be pretty great. They could also be some custom class like "Raider" or "Treasure Hunter", or possibly "Thieves". Speculation rules! Thanks for the video!
Oh yeah, I'm fully on board with that - the idea sounds like these should totally be playable with the heroes we have at the same time, and that tells me they're just technically different enough to be used in a viable party with those heroes. Betting on Ranger being the big idea here as well!
@@AshQuest Correction, Warlock is technically already a ranged class with her starting wand, so we do have one, but yeah, Rangers would be great.
Main question I have is, do they use this box as a way of getting Crypt of Perpetual Darkness tiles into retail?
The grasping vines, ruined temple, acid pools and dread skulls?
Feels like a good opportunity and they would fit nicely into the Jungle theme - and it would only leave the Dragon to be released from Mythic tier (maybe the Inn from the other side of the temple - although I assume even Jungle Dwarves will have need for a good bar).
And could the spider's come as swarms, with multiple on each base?
I think the Snake will take up multiple spaces judging by the picture.
A sacrificial altar would be cool
Maybe some new traps, some 3D props like pillars and chests, and ruins tiles.
New traps could include vine traps, poison arrow or darts, or webs.
Maybe a new game mechanic like set traps for a hero skill.
Love the sacrificial altar idea, and web tiles. This stuff is everywhere on etsy but I would vastly prefer it straight from AH!
This is FANtastic.... A 2nd original from AH. Love it. For the Zargons (Morcars) out there, there are some more characters for the arsenal to use against the heroes. Additional heroes to add for balance. Can we ask for more?? Well, yes, we can.. spiders, snakes, or serpent (possibly a boss---Yes). Gorilla addition. These all make a great change in the environment of challenges to the heroes. Can't wait to see the back of the box reveal. Credit Card is ready. letssssssss ( 🐍 ) go.

@AshQuest. Thank you unreservedly for your coverage, so eloquently expressed & with balance as per. I have been chomping at the bit for your input on this. With this box art, I’m immediately taken back to horrific scenes in Peter Jackson’s King Kong [ circa 2005 ]. Refer to ravine flora & fauna scene 😱.
The jungle biome is completely in-keeping, should HeroQuest intend expand its lore, world & audience. & so it should. Jungles would lend itself to the elusive ‘wilds’ as referee to in TPOTWM. After all this expansion introduces ‘choose your own adventure’ … or path remember the monks tournament map?
My initial reservations are what tokens will feature where they should really be miniatures instead & what tile overlays should not be missed out [ think Prophecy of Telor for example ].

I’ll have issue handling the arachnids sure but that’s a personal ick. Some arachnids lack the red circles on their abdomens. Do the others represent fresh hatchling swarms 🪺🤢. As much as it creeps me out, how IMMERSIVE would it be to mechanise as I have called it many moons ago: bite > symptoms > contagion > parasite > hosting > cordyceps > chest burst > duplicity > sabotage > alchemy > cures. I’m mixing a lot of wishes here based on films like The Thing, Alien, Last Of Us!

Dragori Games Arena and Tunares have the choose your own adventure type story. Very cool and replayable. That game is actually what inspired my custom HQ campaign we're playing now.

I disagree with 3x3 serpent tile. BUT if you’ve seen the twee Loch Ness trinkets, perhaps VARIOUS 2x1 head, tail, and coil tiles, to let the giant snake coil through the temples.
I absolutely LOVE what Avalon is doing to our beloved game but with that being said - we NEED furniture variants, even MORE enemy variants and NEW MAPS!!!
With that being said, Ash, where do you get the skills for the dwarf and barbarian that you mentioned in the beginning of your video?
I predict Dwarven furniture 100% with this, and I think it really would benefit from LARGE room tiles - for this jungle theme, surely they'll have us covered.
As far as skills, I have primarily seen them on yeoldeinn -- the community hub where homebrew has been conceived, published, revised, and remixed for years!
I think from the info. They are the chosen heroes to be sent on a treasure hunt to try finding the dwarven relic. Lots of treasure hunt quests intill finally we find the relic. 😅

Could this actually be the Dwarf expansion quest (with 3 solo quests exclusive to the dwarf, and 7 quests with the whole team)? The Barbarian and Elfe expansion quest gave us a model from the other gender of each of these characters, so we could be expecting the same with the dwarf right here.
As for the barbarian on this picture, this could actually be another class of character such as the knight was in the Dread Moon expansion.
Maybe a hunter, or a treasure hunter, or a trap setter, or a bodyguard?
That's just my expectations here...
Love the speculation - I think this will be an entirely original pack, with the original Dwarf Quest Pack/Hammer of Hadrakka designer quest notes saved for a possible future expansion. That one was slated to receive a female dwarf, ratmen, a sandworm, some rock golems, and some kind of crawler or another, as well as dwarfs abilities!
They are also teasing Talisman and an expansion. Here is the description:

Just comeback from Games Expo UK saw a copy of the game in play. It is good. Two new Heroes? There were a couple of red mini a lion a reptile. Definitely An Explorer dwarf type character and a Berserker a human carrying a very large bone axe poison features in this game, with tiles like from the orgre hoard. Green cultists, Big Snake Big Spider Big Ape carrying a club. Awesome can't wait for release.

I was thinking a poison system . Lots of dwarf stuff ( that chest seems to have a dwarf face)
Maybe with the new hero’s they gave them choices too some cards/skills you choice in the beginning so you can choice their strengths and weaknesses.
And i want a bolder trap that is 3d
3d Boulder, Wall tiles, fallen rock...would love it
So, I already have giant spiders and snakes, so thats not tge biggest draw for me. But Im really hoping for new furniture and trap/incident tiles, and a new set of quests is always welcome.

Excited about more expansions, but I’m not a fan of the box art, it doesn’t match the fantasy art direction of the other expansions imo. The monsters feel too cartoonish and goofy (especially the gorilla and snake) almost like a Dora the explorer cover rather than a deadly jungle as it should be.
OK here me out if there starting dwarf furniture in this pack what's the chance they will do the dwarf expansion next with more furniture. All similar to mage of mirrors and rise of the dreadmoon . Make sense to me

I think the treasure hunting Barbarian & especially the Dwarf need to hire a burger. I suggest taking a Warlock as there a small unnoticeable halfling or the sneaky Rouge. You never know when you might run into a dragon.😆

@@AshQuest That the components from each expansion can be used together. New mobs and character stats. How about breaking the vanilla 3-card hero limit? An overlord deck? NO APPS. (I'm the overloard player in Descent 2nd. We've played though all the campains, "Heirs of Blood" x2. ) We are allready there, but with horrible instructions: The Bard, The Rouge, The Knight, The Druid.... can we use them in vanilla? It's all very hairy. I'm expecting a new edition of "Advanced Hero Quest" down the line. ;)
I like all of this, and especially the really important bit -- NO APPS! (they're great when optional but please never make them mandatory!)

Here’s hoping the gorilla is a new hero/mercenary instead of a straight up enemy.
I've joked about the people on the cover being the villains and the gorilla being the true hero. But this would be pretty cool. Perhaps the green gem is controlling it, and if removed, makes him join the heroes!
Both of these are NEW HEROES, these aren't the normal Dwarf nor Barbarian.
they're both going to have abilities, and can be used alongside the dwarf and barbarian, so it is fairly clear they are new heroes (and of course this was confirmed by Doug in his interview).
Talisman IS 3rd edition.
This upcoming AH will be fifth- we have Pegasus Spiel for revised fourth edition now!

I don’t think the abilities of the Barbarian are purely inspired by Warhammer Quest as you said, I’d rather say Diablo 2. But hey they are basically identical 😂
Did I say purely inspired? 😆 i didn't mean to. But I do think a lot of homebrew systems draw inspiration from that particular character, which is fine - its a great character from a great game!

33:50 Bull$#!7 I made a suggestion for a new custom character based off of Conan who would come with new skills and abilities. When I mentioned it here, I got told off! You stated that Avalon was not taking any more input and told me to just homebrew it, a nice way of telling me to shut up. That was a total lie. Avalon Hill does not listen to fans because it is damn near impossible for a fan to reach anyone at Avalon Hill. I have bought all of their HQ products, so the least they could do is make a way for fans to contribute ideas. F U
Definitely a series of misunderstandings! Easy to clear up though.
*Avalon Hill* stated that they cannot take suggestions directly - those aren't my words but theirs, and it makes sense from a legal and accountability standpoint. Next up, I can't say who the first person was to come up with a set of Barbarian skills, but rest assured it was back in the late 80s when the first edition came out; mired in Sword and Sorcery, its only natural to come up with sets of abilities for the two heroes that don't have any, and -- if you'll pardon me -- it is hardly an original thing to do, so the real challenge from the dev standpoint is "how can we make this fit with the narrative of HQ and answer the most fan demand?" So any such suggestion would -- and SHOULD -- fall on deaf ears.
It does seem unfortunately difficult for a lot of folks to reach customer service at hasbro/avalon hill, but there's no question that they have eyes and ears in the HQ communities, not to mention their Instagram account which is from where all their official news and updates now come.
