Sabaton sings from 1999.They honestly say that at the beginning and sometimes later they just sang to a few people... Now they gather the ful venue or the whole stadium. At festivals even more... Falun, Wacken and... Woodstock, Poland 2012: +500 000! - my favourite concert to watch over and over ❤

If you like Dan's videos, you will like Tommy Johansson's videos. He is one of the guitarrists in Sabaton and on his RUclips Channel he makes covers of all kind of songs, and turn them into heavy metal with a sprinke of humor. He does all the singing, playing of instruments, filming and editing pretty much all himselfs. I HIGHLY recommend his videos, start with She's Gone - Steelheart.

Last December Tommy released covers of Oh Holy Night, and the same in Swedish, I Helga Natt. Those got me started to listen to more of Tommy's work. And from that to Sabaton.

This man definitely needs some more Sabaton. How about some “To Hell and Back” named after Audie Murphy autobiography and uses the words from his poem?
Good stuff and keep doing what you’re doing.

"The Last Stand" is a banger! I love the Pipe Organ & verse u liked ending w/"In The Name of God!" Who'd hv thought a song abt an event in 1527 cld get one going? If u like this type of song, try "The Carolean's Prayer" by Sabaton (abt the old Swedish Soldiers during I think the 30 yrs war).

From their music videos you will learn more about history and its characters than many history professors know about it. I recommend you watch the music video - Last Battle. The last and forgotten battle of American troops during World War 2.

Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band from Falun, which was formed in 1999. The band's songs are inspired by various historical wars. Even the band name is military inspired, as Sabaton is also the name of the part of the armor that covers the foot. All the songs that Sabaton make and sing, they can do thanks to the fact that they have 3 historians to help them bring up stories that have happened in war and they also have the help of fans all over the world who tip off some war event in their particular country and then these historians unearth facts which they then make songs about.
Sabaton is completely different from all the musicians in the world. Because Sabaton takes care of everything itself, so Sabaton has 100 employees who help with everything like selling souvenirs, records, clothes. Sabaton themselves book the arenas they will perform at, book hotels and flight tickets themselves. They also handle the sales of the tickets for their gigs and by handling everything themselves, they can keep the price of the concert tickets down. They don't drink alcohol before or during their gigs, but they do tricks for the sake of the vocal cords and warm up. Sabaton also owns 8 trucks that drive all stage equipment and instruments. They also own a number of buses that drive the stage crew in.

That's a lot of info I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Thanks for that! Always cool to learn new things about the artists I react to. Are you just a mega fan or part of the team? Because you know a lot.
Thanks for dropping by and watching!

I first heard Sabaton on RUclips, as late as January 2022. Googled to find out more about the group. After it turned out that Sabaton was structured as a company, I read on Facebook where I follow the magazine Affärsvärlden which had an article about Sabaton. There they found out a lot about Sabaton and why they built up as a company and had employed people themselves. Because it was said that the outsiders who are supposed to handle everything for the artists, charge an exorbitant amount of money and this in turn makes concert tickets so expensive that several artists and groups are forced to close down, as no one can afford the expensive tickets. Sabaton said that it will be cheaper to manage everything yourself with your own employees than to hire external help.
They have the business of selling souvenirs, clothes and records in Cyprus. It was also in that article that it was also revealed that they do not drink alcohol before or after gigs and the gigs they organize themselves so that no alcohol sales occur. All of this was found out partly through interest in the band, but by reading about finances, stocks and companies I found out more than what ordinary Sabaton fans find out who don't read the magazines I read. I'm just a normal listener who likes Sabaton's songs and they're easy to sing along to.
      My favorite song is
SABATON - En Livstid I Krig (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg)
      ruclips.net/video/WBs3G1PvyfM/видео.html
Which is about when Sweden participated in the 30 years war, so I love to sing to this one which is in Swedish but with text underneath.

Sabaton is great they are modern metal bards, history teatchers carrying the storys of individual sacrifice, bravery and struggels, in war, onwards.
They are an amazing band live but their music videos gives another layer to the songs too. Their music videos are like minimovies, their lyric videos gives a little more background and the animated versions tells the story in detail ..and for an in dept look at what the song is about you can always visit their history channel (with real histsrian and all) to get a enternaining deep dive in facts.
And they are total goofballs witch can be seen in their vlogs
    Sugestions for official music videos:
    Bismarck
    Christmas truth
    .. For lyric videos:
    To hell and back
    ..for animated versions
    No bullets fly
    Night witches (long version)

Welcome to Sabaton rabbit hole 😄 It's a huge one. They sing History based on facts. They have Sabaton History Channel where all their songs are explained by a historian Indy Neidel. If you wanna see a lot of people check out Woodstock-Poland 2012 ( now Pol'and'Rock Festiwal ). "Ghost Division - the show opener, "Uprising" or "40:1", would be songs to watch. Also Great Tour 2020 from Prague "Great WAR" or "Night Witches". You can check their official music videos like "Bismarck", "Steel Commanders" and "1916". In any case with Sabaton you've got your work cut out for you. Have fun 🤘🎶🇵🇱
    P. S. Have you noticed that their mike stands are M-16's 😁. Just fun fact. Rock on 🤘🤘

Please react to Sabaton "En livstid i krig" (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg) and remember to turn on captions in English so that you understand what they are singing about because the song is in Swedish.
Also react to Sabaton's song 1916 (Official Music Video).
Sabaton always tells a story with every song. Glad you discovered them.

As others said, Sabaton is not a Christian band, they sing about history. There are lot of Christian metal bands though, in fact Sabaton's guitarist Tommy Johansson used to play in one called Golden Resurrection. Metal horns sign, which people mistakingly associate with celerating evil, is in fact the opposite. It was popularized by famous metal singer Ronnie James Dio, whose Italian grandmother used it traditionally as a protection against the "evil eye". I agree with others, definitely recommend Sabaton performance on Woodstock Poland 2012 and their music videos Christmas Truce and Bismarck

Sabaton is not a Christian band, they celebrate history. This is about the Swiss gards saving the Pope, so of course religion enters into it. They have songs about the 30 years war which was all about Protestants vs Catholics and in one of those songs they actually recite the Lord's Prayer in Swedish, the song is called Caroleans Prayer.

    • @aquariuskiwilog
      @aquariuskiwilog 11 месяцев назад

Why even try and make that a point of contestation. Very cringe. You owe western civilization and more to the (Catholic) Church, and despite you and some others wanting to push your atheistic religion it will not change history nor the present. Dues Vult!

  • @jafissherse8137
    @jafissherse8137 11 месяцев назад +14

Definitely listen to more Sabaton. Their songs Christmas Truce and Winged Hussars also have a Christian vibe.

Sabaton is popular world-wide, and concerts are the same everywhere. The band wear a "uniform" of winter camo pants and black shirts.
While they are not a Christian band, they are in no way, Satanic or evil (not all metal is dark...there are many genres...and not all that scream their vocals).
With Sabaton, you get a bonus artist to check out! Their co-lead guitarist, Tommy Johansson has his own band, Majestica AND a YT channel full of incredible power metal covers (new one each Friday) . If you think Dan Vasc is a good singer...wait til you hear Tommy!! To see/hear the best of his talents, react to Tommy Johansson's cover of Steelheart's She's Gone!

Great reaction! 🤘 I've been into various genres of music while growing up. But for a long time I've had my issues against 'mainstream pop music'. (That's why I'm always grateful to Blink 182 for their refreshing music video for "All the small things"😁 ). Was very much into bands like The Offspring, Blink 182, REM, Oasis during the 90's. Heavy Metal has been a part of my life back and forth and nowadays I'm all into it Never believed in the 'bull...' about "metal is satanism, etc". That comes from ignorant people who know nothing what they're talking about.
Sabaton has been accused of being most of the "...ism" there is. They're none of it. They call themselves a heavy metal band. Their music is all about military history. They simply tell the story, without taking any political side. Check out their official music videos for "Bismarck" (about the giant German battle ship from WW2), "Seven pillars of wisdom" (about Lawrence of Arabia), "To Hell and back" (about Audie Murphy, the most decorated American soldier from WW2), "1916" (Motörhead cover).
For live stuff I'd suggest "Ghost Division" (official live, 2012, Poland), "Red Baron" (live from Berlin, 2020) and "En livstid i krig" (=A lifetime of war. Live from Gothenburg, 2020. Captions on, the song is in Swedish).
Start with those and I'll get back with more suggestions later.
    Greetings from Sweden!🇸🇪

I’m a LOT older than you and definitely did not listen to heavy metal music……until Dan Vasc. Now I enjoy going back to the original artist after I’ve been introduced to a song Dan sings. I know so may more metal band names and songs in that genre than I have ever known before. It’s been a fun journey.
Karla Bessa does some cool edits putting original artists with the cover artists. This particular one with SABATON and Dan Vasc that she does is fantastic. Just for fun, check it out. 😚

Sabaton is a Swedish band with a loooong list of history based music. and no, not Christian, they celebrate heroics and achievements throughout history, from sparta to Vietnam via, Italy, Poland, France, Britain...
Sabaton also has an award winning history channel that gives background to over 100 if their songs (not a music award, academic, aimed at education of the public) .
Sabaton videos are often have dedictions and/or messages at the end, perhaps not always but, watching to the very end is frequently well worth it.
Animated STORY videos (short Animated history lessons with music videos in them)
    No bullets fly
    Night witches
    Lady of the dark
    Red baron
    first soldier
    epic videos.
Bismark, about the sinking of the ship
    Defence of Moscow, self explained.
Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914
40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939 (with odds actually close to 55:1 they held for 3 DAYS when ammunition and supplies ran out.
Uprising, the Warsaw Uprising against the nazi germans during 1944.
To hell and back, they tell the story of Audie Murphy (highly decorated) and his struggle AFTER the war, so about PTSD and drug addiction that returning soldiers can face.
Fields of verdun, the 300+ day long battle fought there.
Price of a mile, about the battle of Passchendaele
Screaming Eagles, about the battle of the bulge
    Live performances
    40:1 from poland
    Uprising from poland
En livstid I krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles) , very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war.
these are just some, there are plenty more.

I hope you red the lyrics to this one!
It's soo well written! about an actual historical event that took place in Rome in 1527..❤
-They're not a christian band, but infact the song is written from the perspective of those 189 guards that stood against a horde of thousands...Their bravery & their loyalty to their faith in order to sacrifice their lives so the Pope could make his escape...^^
