I decided to leave this video as raw as I can for make you feel that you are there and live the real environment that Kipchoge was during the challenge.
I know it's annoying my breathing, but I decided to leave it instead of add music, this is part of the raw too.

wouldnt every runner choose to do that if they had the money to afford it or if they were sponsored by nike and could get however many shoes they wanted for free for example?

I can remember taking part in the 1997 Pontypridd Reverse 10mile race.
Steve Jones, who had just become the Marathon World record holder in Chicago, ran the race, on a bitterly cold February morning.
For his warm up, he ran a brisk 6 miles, with some of the handy Bridgend and Swansea runners.
He won the race in a more than impressive 46min, considering how hilly the course was, and it was close to freezing as well.
As a warm down, he ran a further 6-8mile warm down.
That's what separates great champions from the rest of us.

In the warmup it's closer to 5min/km. For the actual marathon he ran 2:50/km
