Great effort! Safe to say 100 miles is challenging regardless of how fast you're going!
216km in 7hrs was my farthest cycled so far and thought this was epic not until i watched this incredibly fast human 😅
Congratulation 👊🍺🤘
7:37 the timekeepers admit that he is drafting off the passing traffic
Time trials are done on roads. Anybody who rides on the road is going to get some assistance from passing traffic. There's no way to avoid that, short of closing the road.
However, you'll notice that he was riding towards the left of the lane, as far from that passing traffic as reasonably possible. There was somebody disqualified from a UK time trial not too long ago for riding almost on the dashed line to get as much draft from the passing traffic as possible.
Unbelievable and I can’t see it being broken anytime soon. Inspiration to most. Bravo
Couldn't agree more!
I thought I did good wow I did 110 miles in 6 hours. What a incredible men!!
Man that was superhero stuff, well done Jonathan Shubert, and great video coverage from GCN as always
I did a 100 in 2hrs 52 minutes when I was on a team back in 87. In a paceline of course, wiped me out. No way I could do that solo.
That’s still insane, must’ve been a massive tailwind as well
@@elijahkwon422 no tailwind, loop course with hills and about a hundred degrees, about a mile high altitude. I was doing about 400 a week at the time.
@@elijahkwon422 Tailwinds only really effective when solo, otherwise only the person at the back is feeling the benefits and not not so much the person doing the pulling at the front. Would still be better than a headwind.
Shoutout to this man for millions of subs and hearting and commenting on his fans comments
Could've saved 3 hours off his time without the lights
You should be as light as possible without sacrificing safety
Congrats Jonathan!!!! What a tremendous accomplishment!!!
How long do you recon that would take Rohan Dennis or Primoz Roglic?
Listened to a post race podcast with Jonathan after this ride, he had mech issues following removing the bike from his car that morning. Gear changes were temperamental after 5 miles so he stuck it in 62:13 and rode the remaining record breaking 95 miles in one gear! Absolute champ
So that was the guy draughting me from Milton Keynes to Norwich.
That was an amazing feat!! Very exciting and fun video to watch! I also liked the information on his "old" bike!
This whole journey was at 33mph average; I always get around 6-9mph average
I’m pretty sure you could do more than that if you pay attention to your speed
So what, you are out on the bike. In my book that is great.
3 hours at 33 mph is only 99 miles.
these people really are superhuman !
you just need a huge tailwind
Excellent, outstanding performance even with the dropped chain. Well done, you inspired me my friend. Hank, dont forget to fill up, your tank was running on empty
Can’t even avg 33mph for a minute let alone 3 hrs
I hit 33 for about 45 seconds whilst being chased by a dog..
@@renegadetenor gotta start somewhere right?
can't even reach 33 mph
you can't because you don't have a 30mph tailwind....
Sills71 oh come on it can't just be the tailwind. that guy was so fast
Firstly unbelievable effort! I'm a fan from India and I average 25kmph and I'm trying to do a sub 2 hour 50km and I stumbled upon this 😂
World record smashed by a regular man... That dude was far from regular when it comes to cycling. Great effort
280 watts for 3 hours in an aero position is so beyond average lol
@@supernoodles908 go on and get that record Hero
Congratulations, and not only that but today is a great day for cycling.... “Superb”....
Cheers from NYC
