  • Nissan altimas have this issue were the volume button moves crazy. This is due to the volume sensor getting dirty. Easy fix you just need some basic things in order to do. This will work on any nissan with this issue including nissan altima, maxima, and sentra/

I’ve had this issue with my son’s 2019 Nissan Altima. I called the dealership and they wanted to charge me $220 just to look at the issue. They said anything over that cost they would apply the $220 towards the cost. So I was figuring for the dealership to fix the issue they were already saying it will cost over $220. Figured I’ll give RUclips a try first to see if I can fix the problem. Came across this video and followed the steps. $15.00 dollars later (cost for the cleaner) and radio volume works perfect!!!!! Thank you for this video!!!!! Saved me a lot of money!

Guys follow what he says to the letter, because he knows what he is talking about. This fix worked for my 2020 Nissan Pathfinder. Before I happed upon this blogger I had called my dealer for help in fixing my fluctuating radio knob only for them to tell me to bring it in for a diagnosis and that would cost $175.00. Any other work would be additional. I thank you very much Menjicar you saved me a lot of time, money and aggravation. The only thing I did a little different was to use WD 40 , But I let it dry completely before turning on the radio.

Mine is even crazier. The radio will be off and suddenly it comes on SUPER LOUDLY when it wasn't set that way to begin with. The knob has been 'off' in the way you describe since I bought the vehicle. For $7 I'm sure ready to try your fix and appreciate it. I'll post thumbs up if it works. Thanks!

The knob just needs to be cleaned. The way to clean it is to turn it for one full minute clockwise then turn it for one full minute counterclockwise, and do about five repetitions of that and lo and behold the knob will be fine.

Holy shit it actually worked like a champ just a couple minutes after spraying it and playing with the knob. Here’s to hoping it stays that way. Thanks!

I did it today, and it fixed my problem after 4 years. Last week, the Nissan dealership wanted to do a diagnostic test, which cost almost $200. I let them know there should be a firmware update. They just want money.

This worked on my 2019 Nissan Altima! I've had this issue for two years and this fixed it in five minutes. Follow his advise and blow out any excess mass air flow cleaner fluid after cleaning.

I had this problem brought it to a Nissan dealership and after their ‘experts’ looked at it they said they had to replace the whole radio ($1600). Saw this vid spent $11 at Walmart

They just told me I'd have to spend $200 just to tell me what's wrong with mine. I'm going to try this tonight.
    Holy shit! It works!

There is a tsb for the fix and the first step is to exercise the knobs (second a software update . I don't do that). I always put a rubber valve stem into a drill and use it to spin the knob back and forth. Takes about two minutes but I fixed hundreds of cars with that issue.

will try it out. any way to turn off the low windshield wiper sensor? mine shows it’s low & it’s filled. dealership is trying to charge $100 to replace the sensor. no option in the car’s settings to just turn it off & the low windshield light is a nuisance.
