it's happening more and more too. You would think doctors could tell when someone is actually dead after all that training? But no, the patient is nothing more than a $dollar amount. This is vile, unacceptable and all involved need jailed asap. Are they using AI lately to declare someone is dead? I can believe how many similar stories I have read recently. No excuse for causing the suffering, terror of a human being after they have gone through enough already before the fake death. Not many make it being found alive after declared dead. I can't imagine what these people go through, suffocating in body bags, frozen alive, thrown around- this is barbaric, evil and must be punished.

Agonal breathing… that is the bodies last attempts to breath.
When Agonal Breathing starts; the person needs to be inside a trauma bay or have emergency supplies near the body.
CPR until ambulance shows up only shifts the location of where the person dies.
Death shouldn’t be in a funeral home, but that poor woman was still dying when the nursing home called funeral home and when the funeral home called the ambulance.
Hearing and seeing a body agonal breathing would traumatize funeral home staff expecting a dead body.

If they wouldn't have been able to find the time I guess I would have just laid there like these elderly people do and passed away. I can't imagine how they got enough sleep with me screaming and crying all the time, wanting to be fed and what not, jeez !
No, we, Americans, as a culture don't take care of our elderly, and those of us with the means barely take care of our own children !
It has now gotten to the point where the ones that don't have the means to pay for childcare just let the kids raise themselves, and it definitely shows in their behavior ! Too selfish and entitled to take care of those who brought us here when they need to be cared for.
I'm not judging anyone, I'm no better than any other American.

Nursing assistant here....there are times in which it is difficult to find a pulse on an older person.
Also there are many people with terminal illnesses who decide to become a DNR. Which means do not resuscitate. That is decided between the patient, their medical power of attorney and their primary care doctor when the patient is in their right frame of mind. In this case, when a person stops breathing thats it. We do not perform cpr. The DNR document is always prominently displayed in the house on the refridgerator and maybe at least one other place.
A nurse is called in to verify and declare that the individual is dead. They take vitals and contact the family.
Please dont rush to judgment; they may have done everything right according to protocol and then this just happened.

“women” is a plural word. “woman” refers to one singular woman.

Why would they perform CPR on her if she was still breathing???
And I'm willing to bet that the health insurance company is the reason they didn't do CPR when they thought she had stopped breathing and sent her to the funeral home ASAP...

There have been many cases of people being buried alive, When the caskets were dug up, they find the person tried to scratch their way out
