ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From Michael Schur, executive producer of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "Parks and Recreation," comes a smart, unique new comedy that follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, "House of Lies," "Veronica Mars"), an ordinary woman who, through an extraordinary string of events, enters the afterlife where she comes to realize that she hasn't been a very good person. With the help of her wise afterlife mentor (Ted Danson, "Bored to Death," "Cheers"), she's determined to shed her old way of living and discover the awesome (or at least the pretty good) person within.

This is just one of those lines that really resonated in my soul. Nothing worthwhile comes out of a gift shop.
This show has got some top-notch writing and awesome characters, but it's not doing great in the ratings and it's got kind of a British feel to it. Not great in America (because we all kind of suck, like bad pizza. We're still good, but the management sucks when coming up with our menu). I'm glad it got a 3rd season. I hope it can last for at least 4 or 5.
I thought gift shops were good things.

@@TheHomerowKeys what annoys me is that if they promoted this show even more, the viewers would increase. I was slowly recommending this show to my friends who had nothing to binge on summer vacation and they all absolutely fell in love with it. Well, one guy didn't, but he's definitely going to the bad place.

@@gachaeditz1465 I think Kirsten is impossibly hot. And when she talks raunchy it drives me insane. I'm sure she has no idea how gorgeous she is and that makes her all the more charming. They should do something at the Paley center with the cast
1940s hair looks AMAZING on women. Guy hair styles have for the most part been boring and the same, BUT women get TONS of cool hair styles for every era. And most women just put their hair in a bun. Such a missed opportunity.
Those people definitely deserve to be there. I bet the person who invented STAYCATION is there and First person to start the tide pod challenge
To be fair the tide pod challenge was a magic trick. Not an actual eat tide challenge.

It was a great episode. Jason gives you the solution right from the beginning. If I have any problems in life, I would listen to Jason.

Eleanor was 100% fire in this episode. I discovered that 40's dress, Horned glasses, lipstick and hairstyle absolutely does it for me.

You have to love Jason. The very definition of "childlike innocence". He unironically thinks these various things are fun and cool and attaches no negative connotations to them because it simply never occurs to him.
This is a man who could have watched a speech by Hitler and said, "Wow, that dude is a GREAT speaker! And a pretty snappy dresser. Seems kinda mad though...wonder why he's so upset?"
Things and events are neither good nor bad.
I broke my leg sky diving, the pain was easy to manage once the ambulance turned up, the insurance payout was awesome, having time off work to spend with family was awesome and the companies dodgy practices would have hurt the next customer who was going to jump out higher, so I am glad then got shut down, and I got an amazing adrenaline rush from jumping.
How you respond to an event is what makes it good or bad.
There will always be certain events that will evoke either fundamentally good or bad responses, but that stranger walking by your partner accepting your proposal of marriage, same event, 2 completely different meanings.

A stranger walks by, their heart filled with pain, and see two others very much in love, and it hurts deep down.
Same moment, two completely different interpretations. It is not the event, but your response to it that matters.
You have the power to choose your own response.

I wonder how all these "first" interact with the Time Jeremy Berimy.
It makes sense if you assume that the straight line Michael drew runs from the inception of our universe to the ultimate entropy death, and the Jeremy Bearimy side of if looks like it loops back on itself, but it actually ascends like a really stupid ascending spiral, and a single loop of Jeremy Bearimy takes like an hour tops. The only downside is that this requires the concept of 2D time, but Janet said in a previous episode that love is a 5-dimensional blob, so extra dimensions are on the table.
