Thank you so much you inspired me to do mine 😅. I just got all the tools I will be following your video. Just one question you stated 5/8 T handle torque wrench ? Is that a hex 5/8? Thanks again much appreciated !
Thank you for this video sir. Is this a 2250? I have a 2012 isx15. Motor was rebuilt about two years ago and I can hear some tapping sometimes in the head. I was told I needed to adjust the valves. are these the same specs for a 2250? 2012 single cam isx15 400hp
this video you guys have put together clean and detailed how to best one for sure i have view other ones that really don't show much of the work, thank you, guys Question 4 you guys where about you're located?
Hey Shane! Thanks for the comment! So yes the allen heads are metric! Trying to remember of the top of my head, I believe the valves are 6mm, the jakes are 3mm and the injectors are 8mm if your doing an 870 or 871. If you'd like we can double check everything at the shop tomorow morning and let you know! Feel free to give us a call anytime with questions. 435-743-5550
@@yourdieselspecialists thank you forgive me for my ignorance I’m not sure what the 870 or 871 is? Mine is a 21 isx15 in a 389. I know I’m jumping the gun since it only has 122K on it but I know like you, that ounce of prevention is far worth more than a pound of cure. I won’t be messing with the injectors just verifying and adjusting if needed the valves and jakes. It will probably be a week or so, so yes your verification tomorrow is greatly appreciated!!
That's a isx 15 right?? I have a 2015 t680 with the isx 15 coming up on 1000000 miles motor was rebuilt for oil consumption at around 500k so here soon I am gonna attempt my first overhead...any advice you could give a first timer that you didn't say in the video?
Adjusting valve clearances ensures that they are in the right spec which is (measured in thousandths of an inch) 00.14 for intake valves and 00.27 for exhaust valves. If they are out of spec then the valves will not open and close at the right times.
You are a wealth of knowledge. Little tricks like Red side is Exhaust just to keep from making an EASY mistake. Keep the videos coming. 🙌
Thanks Troy! Love your channel and thanks for watching man!
Awesome video thanks for the information

How much does it cost to do an x15 overhead valve adjustment?
Why didnt he check the running clearance of the engine break

How did it work out for you?
And why adjust the valves? What are the symptoms to do it? What's the benefits after?
