Embeddium is a fork of Sodium so if you are using Sodium don't use Embeddium. The only reason to use Embeddium is if you are on NeoForge(Soon not necessary, Sodium is going to get official NeoForge support) or Forge.

Indium is not a performance mod it is a mod needed to make sodium work with mods that use the Fabric rendering API, Continuity is one of those mods that uses the Fabric Rendering API. Also, Lithium is a performance mod made to be used together with sodium so it is highly recommended. And for world generation, I recommend Tectonic as it looks really good together with DH.

~~~ ALTERNATIVE SETTINGS for Water and Atmosphere ~~~ For anyone who wants their water CLEARER instead of foggier, with a blue surface color and green underwater color, I recommend the following water settings: Water Opacity: 50 Water Surface Color (Cyan/Sapphire) - Red: 75 - Green: 150 - Blue: *130* (Cyan coloration) or *200* (Sapphire coloration) Underwater Color (Green Tinge) - Red: 150 - Green: 150 - Blue: 100 NOTE: The color settings are based on a lukewarm ocean biome! Not all of the water biomes will look cyan/sapphire or have a green tinge when submerged! Also, if you’re looking for a sky that’s slightly more of a true blue color, I’d recommend adjusting the atmosphere color multiplier to this: Noon Time (True Blue) - Red: 0.75 - Green: 0.75 - Blue: 1.50
Amazing video, but im having a problem with the clouds, there is an extra set of normal clouds above the shader clouds Edit: Found the problem, distant horizon also renders clouds, look around in the distant horizons settings and youll find a setting to turn it off
Thank you so much for this guide. I've been using this shader for a little while, but was scared to start tweaking things. So basically been underutilising it. Now my game looks amazing. I'm using the 1.20.1 Forge version, but still found this guide very helpful. Thanks again.
Holy shit I finally found the video again! I originally watched this on my old pc with complementary. When I got a new PC I forgot all the settings and I've had trouble finding this video again!
BSL might not look as fancy as Complementary, but BSL still has my preference as it comes with one thing Complementary doesn't have; extreme shadow distance. Not sure about the latest version of Complementary. My Render Distance is at 12 (don't need much anyway with DH), but shadows render have an RD of 64. Not sure about your specs, but my pc might be considered medium (6700XT and Ryzen 7 3700x) and already struggles rendering shaders well if I go crazy on the settings. So I have an extensive list of optimization mods that are compatible with DH and Sodium: ImmediatelyFast, MoreCulling, entity-culling, Modernfix and Dynamic fps (doesn't improve in-game performance, but reduces minecraft performance consumption when minimized). Also, Presence Footsteps, Sounds, Sound physics remastered, ImmersiveThunder, and particular all improve sounds and the last one effects (like proper splashes and waterfall fog). Noisium also recommends using C2ME to further improve performance, but do not use it. It breaks DH water rendering.
I prefer reimagined to unbound, also if you want unbound why start with reimagined? you can get the "complimentary unbound" shader, those are 2 different shaders lol
When talking about world generation mods, use Terralith and Tectonic at the same time. Because of the high render distance of Distant Horizon, Tectonic smoothen out the elevation changes so it would look better.
